Very poor response to many issues. Hot water issues appliance issues. We need for somebody to follow up now

Contract to closing took 8 months longer than promised. Make sure you’re on site (or have someone on site) weekly to monitor quality. Workmanship is less than mediocre.

Terrible experience with Pulte. This is my fourth new build and I understand there will be problems with the home after it's finished. The workmanship is sloppy, lack of accountability is unacceptable, and communication should have been much better. My small home of less than 1,800 sq. ft. and priced over 500K, and it looks more like a $250K home. Closets and pantry wire shelves are narrow, they could have installed the much deeper size or wood shelves. Vent hood was installed crooked and only attached to wall with one nail, not four like it should have been. When garage door opens it sounds like a tank is driving through the door...extremely loud.! The worst experience was at the Design Center. Design Consultant told me many things that were incorrect. She lacked any attention to my needs and my questions. I was not allowed to return to Design Center when I changed my mind on a few things and they (she) would only forward me pictures via email and/or text to choose my tile from. My family closed on our new home on 3/24. We were forced to close on an incomplete home because we were told that it would be ready, closing was scheduled, therefore we ended our former accommodation. We showed up to the walkthrough a few days prior to closing to find a house that was nowhere near finished. Huge holes in the ceiling, appliances not hooked up, paint not finished, drywall not finished, exterior not finished, carpet not properly installed, GFCI’s not placed correctly, the list goes on and on…. Stuart our incompetent construction manager had every opportunity to communicate, yet there he was, ready to walk a very expensive home with us that looked like a poor incomplete fixer upper. The day of the walkthrough, I stood outside with our newborn twins with tears in my eyes, knowing that if we didn’t close, we would be homeless. Every single dollar we had saved was going towards purchasing this home for our family. What should have been a joyous time for us, was completely robbed. The most frustrating part was that my husband and I had been very active in communicating issues we had seen while our home was being built. Stuart clearly ignored us and spent absolutely no attention to quality or standards on our home. No one should have signed off on this house to any standards. We closed due to having no other housing option and at the risk of losing our 25-thousand-dollar deposit if we backed out. After closing, Stuart was pulled off of our job at my request and Brandon and Nick sat in our kitchen with us and promised all items would be completed to the utmost standard and in a timely manner. Poor Nick got thrown into an absolutely mess left by Stuart. Unfortunately, here we are on 5/10, still living in a construction zone. Priority was not taken. It seems that Pulte would rather send 6 incompetent workers to try and fix something, rather than spending the money to have it done right the first time. We have not been able to unpack. We have not been able to come “home”. We have not been able to take a photo with our babies in front of our home. We have lost endless hours managing workers instead of earning income and spending time with our kids. Precious time and so much of our money has been lost. I am a cancer survivor. Why is this significant? Because I am supposed to control stress in my life. The amount of stress Pulte has caused me, and my family, cannot even be put into words. I have been forced to yell and argue numerous times with grown men, just to get work done to any type of standard. They threatened to paint my home when stucco was not complete! I had to yell and argue, just to have painters pulled until stucco work was done. I have had grown men refuse to take off their work boots, tracking God knows what into my new home for my babies to potentially ingest. I have had their playpen, cribs, clothing, covered in drywall. I have had to risk their health and my own by inhaling paint fumes and dust. The emotional distress Pulte has caused me is plentiful. It is May 10th and my home is still not complete. There are homes closing on my street, homes being worked on by many workers, yet the work needed to be completed on my home is scheduled weeks out. All my family has ever asked for is the home we put our life savings in to be done in the manner promised. I should have never had to be forced into a situation to yell at employees just to get work completed to standard quality. I shouldn’t have had to argue, just to have work done that was promised. But this is what it has come to. Every step towards completion has been difficult. As much as we want to start settling into our home, we will not settle for sloppy work. This is over a million-dollar home, and we expect the quality as we were promised. All outstanding work is currently still being scheduled and unfortunately this whole experience and lack of quality has left us hating our home. I fear the bigger issues that have yet to be uncovered. Only yesterday the electrician discovered that our kitchen pendant box had been covered up with drywall which is why we were only left with 2 instead of the 3 that was in our contract. We also have rattling ducts every time the AC comes on. Every time we try and make progress on unpacking we find more and more problems and issues with our home. A 1 year warranty is not nearly enough for what we have already and have yet to uncover. Attention and quality have clearly not been spent on our home. I fully regret our decision to purchase and close on this home. Pulte doesn’t care nor want to spend money to make things right. Most items are an argument and things only get resolved if I threaten to contact the ROC. They cut corners and cause extreme stress. I will never ever recommend anyone purchases a Pulte home. Amazing experience I would definitely recommend Pulte to family and friends!!!

Pulte has been a great experience so far. I was also apprehensive about various builders and the whole ordeal of buying a house. But, right from the start it was an easy experience with Pulte, may be my sales consultant Jeff and Construction Manager Keith made it easy or I was lucky to have them. Both of them went above and beyond answering calls or text out of business hours and keeping me updated on the progress of the build. Understood we ran in to extended times due to materials arriving late due to COVID supply chain issue etc. I was surprised to see how easy it is If you are prepared with few things like Loan Pre-approval, your own docs ready it is not a big deal to buy a house as I thought. Please go ahead with Pulte as they were highly responsive and all the way through the ownership after I move as well. So far they've been wonderful ! ... More

All areas of the home are having issues. Knowingly installing recalled electrical panels and refusing to replace them tells the ethical issue. Doors and windows do not match and close properly. The hardware installed is not aligned and is crooked. Tiles have grout and glues that weren't cleaned properly now it is too late to clean. I do not recommend anyone paying round million dollars for the home they are building. Please vet other builders before choosing Pulti.

First time home builder, fell in love with a neighborhood where Pulte had the remaining lots. The build process itself was pretty painless - there was a decent rough schedule of when to expect things (and when not to, with some of the supply chain issues causing delays), and progress was pretty consistent. On the whole, I do like my house, and I think it looks nice - we've had a couple service issues (shrunken joist causing a dip in the floor), but Pulte Customer Service has been responsive thus far. The design center experience was actually pretty fun, though I remain a little bummed that Pulte stays (intentionally) limited on customization options - I love my standup shower, but to not even have the option of adding a wall niche for shampoo seems really behind normal trends (they offered a glass shelf instead). The frustrations started later in the process during the finish work - I didn't appreciate the letter "forbidding" me from visiting the house, and while I can understand that they don't want buyers distracting workers and that they're trying to actively avoid changes, it doesn't do much for your confidence in the process when you're told you can't see the work going on. There is a very short "celebration of craftsmanship" walkthrough ahead of the close where you can go through and point out issues with paint/finish, but I think it's unreasonable to assume everything will get caught in one hour. Additionally, more time would have allowed me the opportunity to actually think about some of the things I was seeing (the mantle I selected at the design center is a good match to the floor, but I don't love it against the rest of the room, so I would have at least liked the chance to do a change order even at extra cost). The other major frustration has been with the handling of the weather-affected items on the exterior. I built over the winter, so I knew that I would likely close with the driveway/landscaping still pending, but getting those final items completed was a genuine irritation. There was no communication of a schedule (the "official" response from the project manager was "the subcontractors don't follow the schedule I give them, so anything I give you would be wrong", which is an unacceptable non-answer that actually makes me more concerned that my house has quality issues if Pulte has such little authority/control over its subs), so crews would just appear with equipment at random. I work from home, so this was a massive inconvenience, as I'd be on important calls and unexpectedly would have a tractor 10' behind me in the backyard grading the lot, or I'd run an errand and come back to discover my driveway had been blocked off for asphalt while I was gone (was super lucky that I had my car out already, because the crew "was surprised" that it wasn't a vacant house, so they hadn't even rung the doorbell to warn me). I would HIGHLY advise anyone building over the winter to try to push the closing to after ALL work is completed, because Pulte is ineffective (or just not interested) at minimizing the inconvenience to you once you're in the house. ... Once home is signed for Pultie s very slow to respond to home issues let along give direction on how to get things fixed. Been here 7 weeks and still no back yard. Pultie won’t come and fix things, like painting, leftover blue tape for 10 months! No one wants to take responsibility for home issues, granted they are little but paying what we did for a home we shouldn’t be treated this way.

Blake and David were in charge of our project. They were wonderful!! Honest, professional, and communicated very well. We always knew the status of our home building project. They both went above and beyond in building and finishing our home. Both Blake and David spoke highly of Pulte and what a great company it is! That speaks volumes about Pulte when you have workers who are championing the company!

Multiple project managers, moving of my closing date 3-4 times, dead raccoon in my new build that took 1.5 months to resolve and the solution was my initial solution from the beginning. Many issues left open with home after closing. Unfortunately this is 180 degree different when I built with another company. This was post pandemic build boom and expected better finishing work. I just hope the warranty department reputation isn’t as bad as I have heard and the issues will get resolved timely.

My home took approximately a year and 1/2 to build. Workmanship was sloppy. The process from start to finish was horrible. Pulte mortgage was also horrible. Their prices are overpriced. Had to switch lenders twice during the process due to the delay. I spent more than budgeted in storage fees, points and appraisal fees. Not a happy camper. The only bright spot of the process was the final construction manager that was assigned to me one month before closing who by the grace of god got me moved with punch list items.

Oven is broken, instead of getting a new replacement, whirlpool is replacing a piece what I think inappropriate because I should get a new oven.

We had an excellent experience from beginning to end. Choosing the home from the many offered was enjoyable. Pulte kept me informed every week during the building process. Evan, the building manager answered all of my questions as the process went on. In the end, we received a beautiful, fantastic home.

Had a great home buying experience facilitated by Salvatore. We were kept updated throughout the construction process with updates from Jack. Build quality was excellent. Closing went smoothly for our first home purchase. Highly recommend Pulte!

The overall build of the house is great. Although there are a few things that need to be repaired but that was to be expected. The overall buying process was a bit tedious at times, to the point that we wanted to walk away. Now that we are in the house, getting issues resolved has been a bit of a task. I am overall pleased with the final product but the little things which could make this an excellent experience have not be dealt with very well.

This is my first experience with Pulte. I have been less than impressed. With this home I upgraded several options and unfortunately many of the upgraded options were executed poorly in the build process. This left a lengthy list of items to complete post closing and severe buyer’s remorse. I have been in my home almost 60 days now and am still having challenges with some of the subcontractors to complete their assigned task correctly. I understand there is a labor shortage so things take time, but there is no excuse for poor craftsmanship. Several of the outstanding items are a result of a trade clearly rushing through the task. This is unacceptable. On their website Pulte frequently mentions “quality”, “higher standards”, “attention to detail” but candidly I did not see this during my build process. During my build process there were items I had to call out to my site mgr (I.e a door created when there wasn’t one selected, a missing transom window, an uninstalled grounding wire from my exterior electrical box, the wrong accent stone placed on the home, etc). For these reasons I will not use again or recommend Pulte to family or friends. ... More

This is our third custom built home by Pulte! That says it all!

We took spec home. As it is ready to occupy, we don't have any choice to make any structural changes. Overall experience with Pulte vuolde4 is good but their mortgage is not worthy.

I had multiple issues with my home and they were VERY slow to resolve the issues and the more I look around the house the more poor craftmanship I see

Craftsmanship leaves much to be desired. The Pulte closing team do not communicate with their own project managers or homeowners. Lived here for two months and my cabinets are not finished, missing slider door screen, unable to open windows because all the screens sag, hole in the ceiling, cracks in the stucco, grout needs to be finished, unable to plug in dryer because the drywall was over the outlet, etc. when we brought this to Pultes attention we were told to go through warranty! What?! This isn’t a warranty issue things are missing and never even were completed!

It was relatively quick and easy. All of the issues I have were taken care of quickly. Pulte seems to be a great company to buy a home through.

My entire team from the sales side, Derek, builder side, Brett and mortgage side, Corie & Brianna everyone was attentive, transparent and worked so diligently to ensure this was a positive experience for my family. They all exceeded my expectations and were frequently, responsive and amazing to work with. I would highly recommend Pulte Homes

John was great. Wished he had a little more information to share when I had questions. Wished the builder would anticipate what buyers would want and do it rather it was requested or not. For example, prepare for a sink in the laundry room although it may not be requested. You are putting in plumbing regardless. For the stove, put gas if it is available although you as the builder put in electric. Buyer may come later and want to do gas. Just saying. You put in wiring for ceiling fans it is the same same if you ask me. Just saying.

This is our second Pulte home. Overall it was a good experience, but there are a lot of small things that need to be corrected.
