At Trails of Woods Creek in Algonquin, homebuyers are passed along from sales rep Kristen or Christine, to Celeste at the design center, to construction manager Anthony, to Brandon for pre-drywall review, to Alex for pre-closing review, to Kerie for after-sale support. It would be helpful to have a single advocate homebuyers could turn to at any stage for support or to have their questions answered. The buying process is what you would expect - when the builder and the lender needs information you need to turn it over immediately on their time table. When you have issues with your home they can take as long as they want to address it. We've identified some building issues since February 2022 and closed May 2022. It is July 13, 2022 and to this date the issues have not been addressed. We did not hold closing on good faith our issues would be addressed and they still have not. The beginning of the buying process started out well. The sales rep Raeleen was very helpful Finley and friendly. Putting down the earnest money was fairly easy because Porte ahead Pulte did pretty good online tools. Contracts we signed promises were made to have a home completion around February 2022 timeframe. When February rolled around it was obvious that the house was not going to be completed in the communicated/expected timeline. I didn't appreciated not being told up front that Pulte was waiting on a lawsuit to be over between the developer and another builder. We should have been in our home in September of 2021, but they didn't start until October 2021. the first building manger we had was a nice a person but, he gave me the feeling that he either know what was going on with my floor plan or just didn't care. The buying and mortgage part of our experience was good to excellent. Our field manager, Taylor, was helpful and attentive to our concerns during construction. Our problem was that each time we visited the construction site, we found numerous issues with the quality of work. (Concrete, Framing, drywall and tile.) Nearly every phase had several issues that had to be corrected to be anything close to acceptable. One exception was the kitchen. The countertops and cabinets were great and installed correctly. Great home at an ideal location although building home had taken much longer than what's listed on the contract. However, it's definitely worth the waiting as I'm thoroughly enjoying living in it. There are some minor issues since moved in, but it's been addressed in a timely manner. Overall, my experience has been positive.

STOP! If you still can and do your research by reading the reviews across the country and the lawsuits filed. After putting down earnest and becoming contractually obligated attitudes change. READ the contract before signing and you'll find EVERYTHING is in Pultes interest. Dont assume their tactics to incentivize by using their mortgage company is the best either. Pros: Design, Appointments at various stages to go over the details, construction team responsiveness. Cons: Mortgage options, Quality of materials, promised appliances but not delivered instead refunded old prices in a high inflation period, huge delays in delivery timelines. Overall: If I get a time machine, I would choose another top builder.

They missed the inbuilt pest control pipeline for my home. Even though they knew it before they did not inform me at all. Missed removing the test caps which ended up water outflow from my lawn and washer-dryer area. No proper installations, everything was made in hurry.

Do not close until everything is done

Once you close on your home they do not respond to your issues as they should. I’ve been here for 2 months and still waiting on simple things that I pointed out thru the walk through of the home. I would not recommend buying a new home from Pulte, and if you do, DO NOT close until they have completed your checklist, after that you are no longer a priority. Not happy, house is pretty but workmanship is sloppy.

Since the beginning the relationship was based on the fact that they were going a favor selling this home to me. got the house delay 4month (interest rate went up from 3% to 4.8%) and the closing was a nightmare. If it wasn't because I had no home to stay I would not accept the house and not close.

Poor workmanship on half million $+ homes

We have been SHOCKED at the poor workmanship on our almost $600k home! We were cornered into signing off on celebration day that the house was satisfactorily completed. It was not but we were told it would be. Lies! Every contractor we’ve brought in since we closed in May has commented on the shotty work or the short cuts taken or the lack of attention to detail that they are seeing in our brand new home. It’s a sickening feeling to hear this over and over about what was supposed to be our dream home.
