Pulte scheduled my home to close on January 31 - well before it was ready for a new buyer. Several weeks before the scheduled closing, I saw what a terrible state the home was in and asked if they were sure they'd be ready. They assured me they would. Well, it came time for the walk through, which takes place a few days before closing so that they have time to finish any small punch list work before the actual closing date. Good experience overall. However, Pulte doesn't offer customization. It would be nice if 1% to 2% of the budget was for personal customizations especially for older people. In the noise of building there were too many lapses on their part of what we wanted. Their response usually was that "is was not in the contract", well yes, if Pulte didn't write it down and put it in the contract. But overall the workmanship is good, layout is good, and response from company is good.

I think the Pulte employees were all very well intentioned. I cannot know that about management as my interaction with them was lacking. I do think they were more interested in getting the house finished/closed than build quality. I feel like the completion of the house was rushed to get it closed. That's been reflected in the final appearance - the painting is seriously poor. We could have done a better job. Looks like 1 coat, numerous show through areas, ceiling paint on walls, wall paint on ceiling, semi-gloss on ceiling touch up areas, dry wall voids; crooked bathroom light fixture; ...

Pulte as National builder has not lived upto the expectation. They are taking the buyers for a ride with no good overall buyer experience when buyers are putting their hard earned money into their dream homes.PULTE is taking them for granted right from start of the buying process - Sales, building and closing. Sales team is great, Model home will always close the deal. Great floor plan's. Builders crew from framing to paint need much improving. Pulte is a production/quantity builder. Homes must go up quick and be sold quick. So, the crews used to do this is veery important. This is where the attention to detail comes into play. This is lacking big time. Awful customer service and bullying tactics to get to the closing table out of the blue which resulted in having to cancel a missionary trip at the last moment. The closing was then moved the day of the walk thru and cost me over 10k due to loss of trip. Not only apology was offered and in fact the bullying and threats up thru the inside legal council continued up until the evening before the eventual closing. The lack of leadership by anyone at Pulte is not only disappointing and the entire Pulte organization should be embarrassed how I was treated through this process.

Good sales people. Horrible trades workers that don't know what they are doing and don't care about your new home. I would never buy another Pulte home, it has been a living nightmare trying to get my home built. RUN, RUN, RUN as fast as you can away from buying a new Pulte Home!

Everything went well from dealing with out sales manager and later setting things up through our building manager. Everyone was super informative on what to expect throughout the process. However when it came to giving us detailed information on when our house would possibly close even after the windows came in we got very little information. We had to keep asking and it affected our living situation at the time. We almost got kicked out of our apartment with a newborn because of the lack of communication from the building manager. These homes are basically a slam dunk. Pulte hires contractors to perform the associated task for all trades. The companies do not provide sufficient training and oversight to verify the particular trades have performed their crafts correctly. Pulte is also guilty of the same lack of quality control. Pre-closing punch list are not completed at closing and obtaining the attention toward completing punch list concerns is a struggle after closing. If you start this process with low expectations, it's not bad. Do not have high hopes in these areas: Excellent communication Pride in craftsmanship Timeliness Customer service is hit/miss Ability to get materials in stock (not Pulte's fault, that's a supply chain issue) Ability to hire quality framers (that is Pulte's fault) Workers paying attention to detail Feeling like you, as the customer, are important.
