Overall, the process was smooth. I found Pulte Mortgage to be difficult to work with. Their inquiries were on the verge of being excessive. I had a big disappointment with my flex room which was supposed to have doors and they weren’t installed. After my complaints I was given the doors and I agreed to pay for the installation which was a mistake on my part. It was their mistake so everything should have been covered; I brought the issue up with the builder but his attitude was that they wouldn’t agree to pay since I had been foolish enough to agree although he didn’t say so. Live and learn. The builder Scott was great; he even moved my air conditioning unit to the other side of the house when I mentioned that I m a light sleeper. Scott gets a 10 but the sales office caused my issue with the doors mentioned above. He helped me by requesting a new tree for my front yard since one had died due to underwatering. ... More

Corporate actually cared about the buyers. DO NOT USE PULTE MORTGAGE. This group is the absolute worst. Build could be much better. Sub contractors are either careless, or are not given proper time to do the job correctly, which goes back to back corporate leadership.

The whole home buying experience was normal(as expected). The sales and construction teams were good, however I had bad experience with the mortgage team.

We recently moved into our newly constructed home and while we’re happy to finally be in the space, our overall experience with the construction process was mixed. While the house itself has good bones and we’re excited to make it our own, several things were left unfinished or missing at the time of closing. It was clear that the team rushed to meet the closing date, which unfortunately came at the expense of quality and completeness. These were details we expected to be handled before we moved in, and having to follow up afterward has been frustrating. One of the biggest issues has been the condition of the driveway, which was delivered in an extremely poor state—cracked, uneven, and clearly not up to standard. We’ve been told this will be addressed by insurance a couple of months after move-in, but in the meantime it’s been an eyesore and a source of stress. Another disappointment was the conduct of the construction manager. Due to some miscommunication between our side and his, instead of working with us to clarify and resolve things, he responded in a way that came off as unprofessional and dismissive. As homeowners investing a great deal into this process, we expected more respectful and transparent communication. To their credit, the team has acknowledged some of the issues and is taking steps to resolve them. We’re hopeful that, once everything is finally completed and corrected, we’ll be able to fully enjoy our new home—but the process to get there has not been as smooth or respectful as it should have been. ... Pay attention to quality of interior wall paint as well as wall switch placement. Security keypads may not be in the most logical place.

Pulte was great overall and we love our new home

Overall experience was decent. Some of the procedures needed for the mortgage were cumbersome but that's probably the case everywhere. There were a couple communication breakdowns that had legitimate consequences but they did what they could to make things right.

My sales rep was amazing. There seemed to be a rush in trying to close so they were fixing minor things after closing. When you do a walktheough, you should take notes of those areas because the contractors seemed to miss some things or just remove the tapes without doing it. I gave up after a while of finding issues. However, they are minor issues like paints. The master shower floor had stains that I've been trying to get out even after a month. Make sure you look at it during your walkthrough. This is my 4th home and the experience wasn't great. They have great standards and you really dont need that much options unless you want too. Not sure if it's the materials but you can hear everyone, no matter which room they are in. The sound is terrible. Project Manager Shawn was great. Knowledgeable, experienced and highly responsive to our concerns. Pulte Mortgage was the absolute worst experience ever.

The experience was generally good and all our concerns were addressed in a timely manner. There were instances of poor communication as we got into the escrow process between the Title Company and Pulte which made things a bit stressfull. Overall, all parties did their best and we closed on target. Now that we are moved, we noticed some cosmetic and electrical issues. Some issues were easily corrected and others have taken more back-and-forth discussions. Overall, Pulte Customer service has been rectifying the issues as quickly as possible.

We recently purchased a new home from Pulte Homes in Wilmington, NC, and overall, we’re pleased with our experience. Our salesman, Ken, was exceptional from start to finish, offering outstanding support and making the process enjoyable. Additionally, Kelsey played a crucial role in providing peace of mind throughout the loan process. Her assistance was invaluable and greatly appreciated. Thank you, Ken and Kelsey, for making this journey a positive one!

The experience started out poorly when we were forced to accept a design that included windows in master bedroom which was not part of the original design. It seems odd that the city can require windows without owners approval. It changes interior design quite a bit. I thought the trades were very sloppy during construction with little cleanup being done a little concern for the next trades coming in. Our construction manager Dustin was wonderful to work with and had to correct numerous mistakes. In the end we were satisfied with the house but Dustin had to do quite a bit of follow up.

I’m more frustrated with the electrical system/workmanship of my house. I feel like I’m not getting my money worth. I should not be dealing with so much issues with my house. I am having to take too much time off from work to wait for service staff to work on my house repeatedly with failed results. I bought a home with Castlerock home builder in October 2020 and I have not requested anything from their house warranty till today. Something is seriously wrong with Pulte Electrical system service.

This was my first experience with Pulte. The overall build of the house is exceptional.

Sales personnel were great, we worked with Chris an had a good experience overall. The build of the actual house really showcased the lack of tradesman quality, a lot of poor quality materials are being used. Rushing out on these homes is causing a lot of simple things to be missed. Construction manager Matt was very helpful and responsive. Warranty department so far has been great.

I had a few hiccups that prolonged my move but my salesperson, Jennifer and construction manager, Cole were excellent. They were able to answer my multiple questions and address any concerns I had. I love the way they touch bases at every step of the building process from start to finish. Cole even came by the next day after closing and assist with an issue with my dryer. Thank you Jennifer and Cole. I love my new home.

House seemed to be built too fast

The house is great but the mortgage through Pulte was a longer process than expected.

Multiple mistakes in what we requested and what was built. Lack of frequent proactive communication.

I choose HG due to the lovely unforgettable mountain and lake views, area, private gated community. I initially thought the home was too small but that’s me coming from a 3757sq 5 bedroom 2 story. Now living happy in 3 bedroom 3 bath empty nester. So getting and choosing your home and giving the earnest money was easy and flawless. Being able to pick options and going to the design studio was the best. But of course we chose an area that had never been lived on so we digging from scratch. The long long delays of completing the home was the horrible part for me. I lost a lot of money living in temporary living waiting months past the initial estimated move in. Then waiting more months after the second estimated date then not receiving an estimate date to delays with utilities coming to install meters my goodness it became very stressful. But then…sun broke through the dark clouds and we signed papers and was hopeful for ours keys. Well there was one more delay and keys were not given for almost 3 weeks. We had to resign our closing documents one more time and 6 days later the VICTORY CALL came. They said GO GET YOUR KEYS CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW HOME! When I say those were the best words to my ear ever. I almost ran there to get my key that’s how much energy I was suddenly filled with. All the hell was over and I was thankful. I thanked and blessed them all for building my home with great quality and perfection. Some things could have been upgraded but the quality of the build is everything. I would after everything go back to Pulte because I’m happy and highly satisfied with the quality and how they toured me through my home to show me how everything works and the aftercare is beautiful. They have come when I called and they followed up to ensure things were still working to my satisfaction. They even paid my rent and storage due to that last month delays. It was a long road but if I knew I would be this happy at the finish I truly would do it again. Thank you Pulte. Thank you Eric . The man that took all the crap from us all and remained calm. Thank you for that and all the consistent communication I received from you in them last few weeks. Be blessed. And thank you for building my beautiful dream home. This was a nightmare! I have purchased 8 other homes and have not been through what Pulte had done to us. That needs to be fixed asap!

Mike, a member of the construction team, is exceptionally helpful and willing to assist with any task at hand. However, I believe Pulte should consider enhancing its sales and mortgage teams to effectively sell houses. In my personal experience, I purchased solar from them, but when I inquired about my sales receipt from the sales team, they seemed unsure of how to provide it.

The initial process was great, the mortgage experience was not and there have been a number of issues post move in we have had to fix. Contractors aren’t always the most responsive but could be due to availability
