We were initially very excited to work with Pulte to build our home, but quickly saw that what matters most is not customer satisfaction, but the bottom line for Pulte. I understand that Pulte a business and profits are a part of that, but as the build progressed I was shocked by consistently shoddy workmanship. For example, we had multiple crooked walls that weren’t fixed on their own even though they were visibly crooked. We had to insist they be fixed. Some contractors used were dishonest about mistakes they made that had to be fixed later, and the contractors were trusted over us by Pulte despite us having photo evidence of the issues. Issues in our flooring that were bright up early on (gaps in the wood that weren’t filled, which we can feel through the padding and carpet now) and gaps in the wall that we were assured would be fixed properly were not and have affected the aesthetics and comfort of our home. They tried to rush our closing even though the house was not ready. The finishes that needed to be fixed before we would agree to close were thrown together and poorly done. No house is perfect, but I was genuinely surprised by the poor quality of work overall. When friends ask for my advice on building a home, I will not recommend Pulte based on our experience, especially given the expense. ... More

We do love our home, but since moving in we have noticed numerous examples of poor workmanship. We have found drywall with tape over holes and painted/textured over. Chips in our 30k tile floor, debris on windows. We have been patiently waiting for replacement cabinet doors on a few that were scuffed/damaged or not stained properly. We have been patiently waiting for the refrigerator we have ordered. Paint missing on the exterior in a few places. Overall- the purchase/design/finance and construction of our home was good- delays aside which appeared normal given the current market. But to walk into a home, not completely finished or cleaned was a little upsetting considering the additional wait for close. We understand the market being hectic and continue to be as patient and positive as we can, but with so many small issues or obvious coverups of drywall, Mis- alignment of ceiling rafters just being dry walled over.. it is hard to not be disappointed. ... The initial part of the build process with Pulte was enjoyable and low stress. Our sales and design consultants, as well as our construction field manager were friendly, professional, good communicators and efficient. However, at about the 6 month mark of the build process things started to change. The excuses (mostly blamed on COVID) piled on regarding delays and towards the end we felt like the home was being rushed to completion so that upper management could fill their end of year sales quotas and get their bonuses. Our home was closed incomplete... no screens, missing shelves, hardware and paint as well as lots of cosmetic defects. Some homes on our street are still missing mirrors, counter tops etc. Our field manager tried his hardest to push things back, but his supervisor wouldn't allow or just didn't care. A month after close, things are slowly being addressed and repaired that should have been taken care of prior to closing. But this shouldn't be the case with a new build. The community is gated and at the prime location.

This builder is one of the best I've worked with. They have a team of dedicated people that work hard trying to improve any errors their sub-contractors may have caused. For being a production builder, they did not disappoint.

There was an urgency by Pulte to close before the end of the year 2021 to meet budget which caused workers to do poor quality work in order to finish and meet the timelines. Sloppy is unacceptable to a buyer. All in all they have worked hard to fix any issues in a decent time after move in. The workers have been super and I am sorry for giving 3 stars for quality of workmanship but given the conditions I felt I had no choice.

Woodbury is an amazing neighborhood. My wife and I fell in love immediately. We love our new lot and are beautiful new home. When you are dealing a trac builder, you have to understand what you are paying for. Pulte did a great job managing the build and hitting their timelines. Some of the craftmanship isnt the best but overall a great home. We love it.

I had a great experience building with Pulte. I'm a realtor and have had the opportunity to work with a lot of builders. Pulte is a favorite.

This is the 3rd (new) house I have bought from Pulte Homes. Good quality and reputation. You have a general experience and peace of mind. Knowing you can resolve any issues mostly to your satisfaction. Rushed to closing, some work lack quality (paint, trims, caulking, missing pieces due to late order or arrival, miscommunication between various parties in transition, such as external vent range hood not connected to outside due to drywall not prepared with a connection hole; exterior water bib installed right behind A/C unit at back of house, garage door not manually lockable due to mismatched bolt and slot; sharp nails can be felt under carpet on edges at upper floor, etc.). Pricing on the max limit to be fair, so the value is okay but not impressive. ... More

I feel the closing was rushed. I was told to fill out a document online. Come to find out the document was my actual closing. I wanted to sit down, and sign papers and ask questions. It was like i was deliberately misled. I did the closing on 12/21/21, I still haven't received my closing documents. I was told they would be sent to me

Pulte subcontracts, the subcontractors hire people that have zero skills (less money spent, right?) Our home is a nightmare with a ton of issues from the beginning with a plethora of construction and workmanship issues. Pulte is less than responsive, admits no fault, refuses to put anything in writing, says they will do one thing, but never do. We contracted in good faith, kept our end of the deal, but not Pulte. Do NOT waste your money, your time, or your energy. Pulte claims they have quality home and offer the consumer peace of mind, but nothing could be further from the truth. I am fairly certain that a class action lawsuit will be the result of this nightmare scenario, which is absolutely unfair to the new owners. ... More

Pulte employees excellent and responsive. Some Issues with Pulte vendors….getting materials and issues resolved in a timely manner.

Rushed the closing with lot of items pending at the end of the year. The final walkthrough was almost skipped before closing. Was promised that all the items will be done soon after we move in. It wasn't a pleasant experience at all moving into the house with lot of contractors coming to finish the work while settling in. The contracted plumbing company was the worst of all and the other companies took their time due to whatever reasons. After a month there are still some pending issues.

Everyone we worked with was professional, diligent and made it easy and comfortable.

Good quality home though finishing touches need improvement. Sloppy paintwork, and grouting in places. For the size and location of the home, I consider the home good value though I wish the price included a few major ticket items (e.g. refrigerator, washer/dryer, finished garage walls).

Had a great experience purchasing from Pulte Homes. Extremely professional builder and was very responsiveness to the issues we ran into.

Talk of the town about Pulte Homes quality of workmanship and materials is true. Very Satisfied and happy with my home.

I had a pretty bad closing experience with lots of frustration and I still have not got things installed in my house which I paid for. And Pulte did not give me any incentive for the experience I had

Buying new construction with unprofessional finishes to details was a little shocking to me. I love my floorplan and home but everyday I am finding mistakes that I wouldn't expect with a new build. It feels like I bought a new Mercedes with a few scratches... we will correct the ones we can, but I expected more in craftmanship.

Pulte does build a good, well-designed home IF the field team has adequate labor & with time to do it right; materials with ability to refuse to install damaged materials i.e., we have multiple, 40+ chipped tiles installed, trim pieces 1/2" short plugged with globs of caulk, paint splatter and droplets all over floor, paver stains, paint on sliders, slider tracks filled with mortar/debris, etc.). A lot is asked of the site team and my impression is that it is all about delivering it to closing even if it is a rush job. I liked and trusted the site supervisor, but it was a series of challenges he had to face to get materials & labor coordinated & communications with the future owners. Now we are on to the multiple post move in 30 day "cosmetic" issues and thus far it is not going well, one vendor out of 4-5 has showed up on the date schedule, so another day sitting around for nothing. ... The build process was less than ideal. We were delayed 6 months from our original completion date. I feel that the sales consultant and field manager promised a timeline they knew they wouldn’t complete. The FM - Seth Nisall - was very combative, which resulted in a blow up in the sales office. He was immediately removed from our build, and Brett became our new FM. Brett was the only positive Pulte attribute. He was empathetic and provided timely updates (and realistic updates even when we didn’t like the news - but it made us respect him for being honest). Your window vendor is poor. We have issues with multiple windows not being installed correctly. They also did no clean up to the windows - they were filthy, painting and caulking not done after the window was installed. From my seat, no one is managing the trades. Multiple Pulte people have told us that supplies arrive, and they go to whatever house the trades wants to put them in - not who has been waiting longer. I’m sure it’s more planned out than it looks, but it looks very disorganized as an outsider looking in. Now that we are moved in, we have a long punch list with no ETAs for completion. We’ve been specific that we need the trades to schedule repairs ahead of time and not randomly show up (as I work from home). So far, we’ve had two trades come unannounced. ... More
