Had issues across the board from beginning to end!

Pulte was very easy to work with and responsive to my questions and concerns.

There are so many things to share regarding my home buying/building experience. I have built a Pulte home once before and had a wonderful experience. I wish I could say the same for this time around. I feel like my home was so rushed that the craftsmanship is not what it should have been. Before closing there were so many things that needed to be completed which we agreed they would complete but many still have not been done and I closed over a month ago. Communication has been so poor between the field manager and warranty - I have to follow up many times before a response is given. Even then most times there is no solution to the issue. We were pushed to close on time even thought the morning of closing the house wasn’t 100% complete. We were not in a rush and we’re happy to wait until the house was completed. They were still tiling the backsplash and had several other loose ends to wrap up. The majority of the obvious work was completed but it took weeks to finally get a cleaner in there to finish everything up. After we occupancy we had a major water backup issue. The drain line was clogged with construction debris and caused water to flood the downstairs bathroom from the toilet. The emergency response team for the warranty was amazing. They had a plumber and a water remediation team out within hours. I was happy with the concern and urgency they displayed. I do feel like it’s a problem that could have been easily avoided. I feel like everyone was rushed at the end in order to get us to close before the house was ready and people got sloppy. I’m sure it’s common for the main drain line to get clogged. They could have avoided a bad experience and big mess if they had just tested it. Overall the experience was pretty smooth and I would build with Pulte again, I would just apply the things I’ve learned through this process if I built again. ... More

The quality checks for this home were inconsistent and often not there. The servicing once closed leaves to be desired as well.

The house looks great but the built quality was really disappointing. It’s been almost three months and every week something is discovered broken, damage or not done properly. Whenever I get work crew scheduled they don’t bring the right tools because they weren’t told of the issues correctly which leads to several rescheduling. Carpets constantly comes apart all over the house, certain light fixtures don’t work at all. I can go on and on about issues I have been having after purchasing this new build. I feel like my experience defeats the purpose of buying a new house and this is not my first brand new home purchase but my first bad experience. ... More

Overall the communication during construction was consistent as the construction manager kept me in the loop. However, build quality was lacking as the paint job was poor along with some of the interior finishes, for example, stair railing, door installation, and appliances.

Easy build process, great communication throughout the process. Very happy.

It is not a quality builder

We purchased a home in 2021. The entire buying process was okay, nothing stood out until the end. We could not fly in because of covid and the closing experience was bad. They tried to give us a virtual walkthrough but the video quality was terrible and very few issues were detected. When we arrived, I made a list of a lot of issues I detected in the house. A LOT. Response to fixing the issues is good. The person responding to maintenance requests is great. While I appreciate the customer service, it's also a lot of time involved in having to fix the issues because we have 5+ people coming in every other month for all the issues we've found. Can Pulte just hire someone that does quality assurance before giving out the keys? When we pay for the house, we don't come saying, "hey, we only have 95% of the money we promised, we did our best", right? It's the same way when delivering the house to us. You can't come 95%. ... We had a great experience. Ryan our project manager was excellent and kept us fully updated on progress. We bought and build virtually due to pandemic and we were impressed with quality and finish. Highly recommend Pulte.

We understand we are living in unique times with unprecedented challenges. That being said Pulte has failed in their production and delivery. For the most part the employees are well intended. There were minor problems with the sales department and mortgage department. These were normal and generally handled in a professional manner. Unfortunately, Pulte constructions has not adjusted to the current economic conditions and challenges they present. Instead of giving us better quality finishings, as we expected, corners were cut on material purchases and sloppy work was done. Needless mistakes. Our bathroom doors banged together. We were told that the door stoppers they used met specifications so that was normal. Really… it is normal for the doors to hit each other after the stoppers have been adjusted as far as they can? Very frustrating on a simple item. We had to go out and buy doorstops that cost a few cents more, take the doors off, install the new doorstops which resolved our problem. All at our expense. This is just one of many examples. We have had to fix numerous items ourselves. The process has not been a pleasant experience. What is shown in sales literature is not what has been delivered. Most of what we read negatively online turned out to be true. Based on the terms of our contract we had to close on a Home that was not finished in a professional workman like manner. Some of the work in the home is of good quality. Most of the work in the home lacks expertise and care. Sloppy finishing work. Needless mistakes. Many of these mistakes could’ve easily been fixed during the production process. Everything was rushed in an effort to close prior to the end of the year. Warranties and repairs are only as good as the people doing the work. They tried 6 times to replace and install our kitchen cabinet doors. We have decided to do it ourselves and hire our own contractor. This nonsense is mind numbing. Pulte has thrown out thousands of dollars of perfectly good cabinet door because of mistakes being made. Needless mistakes. We understand that this is a production home but that doesn’t mean that it’s acceptable to do substandard work. It has cost us a significant amount of money to fix many of their mistakes and make our home look nice. We have no reason to think that there are any significant issues with the home build. We are hopeful the structure will hold up. In conclusion: the issue is sloppy work, substandard contractors, poor craftsmanship, lack of attention to detail and workman unable to fix these issues. In most cases we had to repair finishing items ourselves at our own expense. We would not recommend Pulte to others. ... More

The people we interacted with at Pulte were generally friendly and responsive. Overall I had a good experience.

Pulte associates were all great to work with at each step of the buying & building process.

We were pretty disappointed in the condition of the home at close. We found all kinds of issues with the painting and we find more every day. Lots of dings in the wood that were just painted over, a poor paint job overall with many areas were the paint ran down the wall or peeled away where a door was closed with wet paint. So many painting issues that we’ll probably need to repaint the interior ourselves. The garbage disposal didn’t work at move in, cracked areas in the trim, the front door handle missing screws etc. We are really disappointed in the poor attention to detail and the responses to our service requests has been slow. If we could do it over we probably wouldn’t have moved forward with this build. ... More

Overall Pulte built a great home for us. I’m glad we had them as our builder!

Worst experience of our lives changed so much on us. Extremely rude sales team, Kelly and sales manager mike. Regional president did nothing for us (k Christopher son) they all cover for each other. Most importantly workmanship is terrible took tons of pictures. We are re finishing a lot on our own so the house can look of descent quality. Couple bright spots on the construction team who worked with us to resolve everyone else’s mistakes. If you don’t care for quality and being just another sales number buy a home with pulte. I would do a ten times better job running this company.

The only issue I have had is that after the walk through, we identified a few things that needed to be fixed - two issues had not been resolved at the time we moved in. That was a bit of a disappointment.

A good experience overall. Our sales rep was forthright and honest. Our construction manager stayed on top of construction issues, although he coulbetter communicator. communicator. Ultimately, we're very satisfied with the home.

The team at Pulte was responsive and helpful through a tough time to be building with so much uncertainty! Love our home and our neighborhood!

We were forced to closed on our house that was not finished. It’s been 30 days and, still the home looks like we live in a construction site. Pulte should be embarrassed to have home close with so many issues.

Working with Ben and Sean. They were incredible. very responsive and helpful throughout the whole process.
