I had very bad experience with Pulte. This is our first time with Pulte and we had other builders before. When we first went to the tour, the sales rep told us there were a couple lots releasing and we can put offers. He was selling us the house we bought. He said this lot has the biggest side yard and best view. We put an offer and got the house. When we came to do final walk through, the biggest yard was gone. Our side yard is the same as other lots. What is worse is that our front yard is smaller than others! When our realtor connected to the sales rep, he said he never talked those and ...

Our construction manager Mike wasn’t very communicative throughout the process on giving us updates to the build. We drove by the lot daily to check up on progress ourselves. Many items on our final walk through were left unfinished, there’s a stain on the new carpet in one of the bedrooms that has been there since before closing. Our windows don’t latch properly and I still have not heard back from Mike when the tradesmen is scheduled to come by. This is a safety issue, overall not very satisfied with the customer service. The Title portion of the sale was one of the best parts of the overall Pulte experience. The document portion leading up to closing was seamless and clear, and the actual closing was quick and informational. The Title rep. helped answer questions.

Overall, our experience with Pulte was decent-to-good. The home and feature selection process was easy and informational. We did have delays in supplies (prolonged closing by 4+ months), which was frustrating, but the communication was frequent and transparent throughout the delays. We would have appreciated some sort of concession in price/compensation, but that was never offered. We do love our new home but have been repeatedly blown off when we’ve asked for things to be completed or fixed in the first 60 days of owning. The actual interactions with Pulte employees have been very respectful and extremely courteous. We know their hands are tied in most circumstances. Our issue is that Pulte has promised things they cannot deliver and all we’ve been told is “we’re working on it”. No compensation offered. The cheapest materials they can be and the worst workmanship it can be on top of sloppy work without any thoughts in mind. Customer service is so bad as well as we are 3 month on with punch list items for repairs still pending.

Not a bad experience. Two things we have learned from this experience. 1. Check all options during de building process. Make sure the selection and material a correct, you have to see them in person. We chose to upgrade a zero-VOC paint. The field manager told us the paint is what we choose during the building process, but on the closing day, we found out that it is not the case, they used a different paint with the same color. It seems everything is to be blamed on Covid. But the simple fact is that they like all the builders want to be at the top, and they really could care less about what we want. Communication is key in the new construction process. Unforeseen delays, setbacks, mistakes, and misinformation hamper the relationship between buyer and builder. Weekly email updates, a phone call when there's a problem, and a communication assistant supporting everyone would help build trust in the product and the professionals responsible for delivering.
