Love the House, but Workmanship Needs Improvement

I really love the Continental floor plan, the layout, and the overall home and neighborhood. However, the rating was influenced by several workmanship and finishing issues we noticed after moving in. Some items required follow-up and correction, which was disappointing for a new construction home. Overall, we are happy with the house, but I expected better attention to detail and quality of workmanship.

Poor quality of kitchen cabinets (I paid for upgraded ones), wall and ceiling flatness is poor, wall paint is awful quality, and overall craftsman is low quality.

We got a great deal on a beautiful home. You can tell that the quality and craftsmanship and care has been there from start to finish any minor issues that we've had to address. The warranty team has been there to provide that for us. I would highly recommend using them as a builder. You won't go wrong.

My experience with Neal ***** and Mike ***** was awesome. I could not have expected a better level of professionalism. In terms of the quality of workmanship, it could be better. There are things that were not installed neatly. The workers could have done a better job in that area.

The Pute Staff at the ***** were very helpful throughout the buying, design sections, construction and turn over stages of our home. The few items that needed to be addressed after taking possession were resolved quickly.

During the final walkthrough, the construction boss told my wife and me that he is #1 in the US for his customer service. He indicated that he expected a 10/10 in the survey - not 9/10 or, God forbid, lower.. If we cannot do it, do not complete the post-closing email survey. The tone/verbiage came across as a demand- not a request. Inpacted the home buying experience. I am a jaded corporate veteran and normally do not take *requests* for 10/10 unusual. But this was a bit too much for me and especially my wife. I skipped the email survey. I have not had any trouble with the home so far, ...

The entire process from start to finish was excellent My disappointment was the final turnover of the home , which lack attention , i.e the way the small details were missed , not cleaned thoroughly inside and out , sticker on cabinets left on, window seals left with cement and dust particles in the tracks , corking around the home ,especially the front door different colors and thumb prints , cement around the outside electrical and gas equipment. Woodwork painting not rub down prior to painting . Carpet at the seams not finished , carpet hairs not tucked in at the entrance .

My agent submitted my backyard construction application about a month and a half ago and have already provided all of the required documents. However, I still have not received any response or update from the *****. I'm not sure what the relationship is between the ***** and Pulte Homes. If they are completely separate entities, please feel free to disregard this concern. Although we have had only a few issues, the response has been slow. One issue with the guest shower the contractor refused to look at it and they suggested we are responsible for the crack in the shower tub. Our rep at Pulte is trying to get it resolved but it has been almost 6 weeks and nobody has come to our home to ***** the issue in person. They are going on only the pics I provided. I believe I have four issues issues that have been recorded and one has been resolved.

Out construction manager was wonderful but the issues we have had since before closing and found after they are very slow to fix or even follow up on. Communication has been nearly 0. We have drawers we can't even use due to Installation issues.

the sales process was great as was the selection of options. The failures all came at the end when it was time to close. Poor workmanship of trim details on stairs. There was installation glue all over the floors even thought they had been cleaned. The flooring contractor used paint thinner and Clean erasers to remove the glue and now the finish has been compromised. They are extremely slow to fix things that were noted at the pre delivery walkthrough. I've been here seven weeks and am still waiting for some repairs to be done. We struggle with writing this review because we really enjoyed the people we worked with, but unfortunately, the quality of the finished product is lacking. In spite of our best efforts to communicate along the way and have detailed discussions on site, there are still items that are not up to basic standards of a quality new build. Issues we raised were not dealt with. Paying $500+ for a new house with warped/bent/broken studs, flooded basement, contractor trash all over the place, broken drainage pipes, etc. I would seriously consider recommending other buyers to look elsewhere.
