Don’t sign until every issue has been dealt with

We do love our new home but have been repeatedly blown off when we’ve asked for things to be completed or fixed in the first 60 days of owning. The actual interactions with Pulte employees have been very respectful and extremely courteous. We know their hands are tied in most circumstances. Our issue is that Pulte has promised things they cannot deliver and all we’ve been told is “we’re working on it”. No compensation offered. It’s completely unacceptable and if we had to do it again, we wouldn’t have signed the escrow paperwork until everything was done. Unfortunately, we trusted them ...

Issues with Quality Control/Oversight

Bottom Line: If you buy a Pulte home do not close/sign until your problems are resolved because they will not care once the papers are signed. Building workmanship /quality came with many issues that were pushed off and required multiple trips by the construction team to fix simple items that should have been caught by the builder before we arrived. We were accepting that things are busy and that it may take some time to get people over to fix things but now we are a month in and still having issues getting these initial problems addressed. This lack of quality control on items that were ...

Be on top of the and very involved in the buying and construction process. Don’t let Pulte bully you into accepting poor quality just to get the home completed.

House is beautiful if you don't look too close

Communication during the building process has been a huge issue. When we pointed out poor workmanship throughout the process, we often got kickback or we felt we were a bother to the building supervisor. Our house is beautiful, but we constantly finding issues with poor workmanship and we get little or no response from building supervisor. After talking to neighbors that claimed to have the same issues we discovered we were often lied to (they fixed things at their house we were told nothing could be done vise versa)

Lack of attention to detail in finishing work. Can still feel uneven concrete from corrections of issues in the slab through the finished floor. Multiple issues with electrical and plumbing that needed to be addressed in first 2 weeks. Of our 3 experiences with new construction this was the worst

This was the third home we’ve purchased, second one we’ve built, and this was by far the worst experience of the three. Communication was non-existent, deadlines didn’t matter, and the finishing work on the house could’ve been done better by a high schooler. The only saving grace is the location of the property, the schools, and our community. We have great neighbors and live in a great area.

Selling personnel is excellent. Finishing with poor quality, since day one I notice cracks, paint is needed in many areas. Kitchen cabinet door waiting to be replaced. I closed now more than two months ago and still pending to fix the list of cosmetic items.

Everyone was very nice and responsive during the building process. After closing you are treated like chopped liver. Issues that were promised upon signing off on the final inspection prior to closing are ignored despite numerous texts and emails. Love my home but very disappointed in the lack of communication. The Field Engineers should be required to take a course on how to communicate with their clients.

Watch any deals they offer, those tend to disappear! Quality of paint and trim work is extremely poor. The painters will paint over dirt and anything on walls without wiping them down first. House looks great if you aren't one to pay attention to details.

I still haven’t moved into the home because I’ve spent my days cleaning a mess that shouldn’t be there. I was told that the blue tape items that we put in during the celebration meeting would be taken care of by the morning of the closing. I came on the morning and Jeff told me that the painter couldn’t get to it yet and told me to go close and come back and that it would be. I gave him my garage code, came back the following day to most of it completed still some not and a dirty house which I had to sweep up and clean myself.

Pulte was a good company. I remember my friends houses 15 years ago with Pulte, they were excellent in quality. Now, in my own experience, the quality is from low to average. They are not into details anymore, you will see excess grouting, floor tiles are not even, walls corners are not straight electric switch are opposite and other stuff. This are the things that you see, the question is, how about the things that you don’t see, like the structure, framings, etc. I’m just hope and pray that everything is within standards.

Pulte Homes - The sales people were great!

The sales people were great! ! Seems like Pulte was doing the bare minimum to close on the house and promising to fix items that were missed. If you didn’t catch any problem on the walk through, they say it’s not covered. The quality of the finish work on walls and woodwork are not good. No accountability!

Use your own financing, not Pulte. They want you to close before everything is completed. Have someone experienced do your punch-out and don’t close before everything meets your expectations.

I purchased new home from Pulte in Georgia. I heard from my real estate agent that they were good builder. On the closing day, house was incomplete. Some of lights and plugs were not working. Doors were not closing. Some door handles were placed wrong way. Exposed insulation around door and window frame. Strips in new window fell off. Floor, carpets were not cleaned. Stains on floor, door handles. They had to reinstall tiles in all bathroom for some reason. That caused damage to door edges. Stairway was never polished. These are few things to mention. This gives an experience of buying a ...

Do your homework. Pay attention. Ask questions. Don't expect honesty, demand it. Follow up if something is not correct. Elevate issues immediately. Give yourself at least 30 days to be in your new home prior to providing a home builder rating.
