We have been very disappointed in the final workmanship in our home. We have November 1 scheduled for the fixes so we shall see. Additionally, we do not have the right appliances in dryer, refrigerator and others. Our order was cancelled when I called last week. Also I would have purchased more items if it had been clear they were structural but was told it was design meeting. So Pulte could have made even more money.

Not very responsive to issues.

I have a good experience during the sales process. The sales person wasn't pushy and was very responsive even after I signed the paper work and paid my deposit. I went with Pulte Mortgage and also found the various people that I communicated with at Pulte Mortgage to be very responsive as well. However, post closing is a completely different story. I have a number of issues. My fridge is in the middle of my kitchen and has been for almost two months because it cannot fit because the upper cabinets are too low. There doesn't seem to be any urgency on their part in trying to fix the issue. The customer service folks that you are suppose tor reach out to are not very responsive. I understand that sometimes things can take time to resolve and I have been very patient, but, at a basic level, you should be communicating with your customers about why things are taking time to resolve and when you expect to address the problems that have been raised. This is customer service 101. In this case, crickets. Overall, I'm very disappointment with the workmanship. There were glaring issues like cracks in the bathtub, newly installed towel racks falling off the wall, unfinished wainscoting, missing screws from switch plates, unfinished work on the siding, issues with the roof, garage door not working properly, AC not working ... I could go on. And, these are the things that I identified within the first month of moving in. God knows what's to come. In addition, the trades handled the materials roughly (there was clearly no care). Most, if not all, of the doors and frames have some kind of damage. There's also damage to the cabinets. I can't tell you how many non Pulte contractors have entered the house and commented on the glaring imperfections in the drywall (... I mean really obvious stuff that anyone that cares about their work would see). If I had to do things over, I don't think that I would go through this process. If you're someone that values workmanship and quality you're better off renovating a home or building from scratch, which will give you the opportunity to work directly with a reputable and reliable general contractor that's interested in doing good work. ... The home is aesthetically pleasing - just as in pictures of the models. However, the quality of finish leaves much to be desired. There is a time-frame in which the new homeowner is allowed to "point out" issues that need attention. The Pulte representatives are accessible through appointments and do inspect and view homeowners' issues, but also note that they "can't keep an eye on every contractor during the building process". "Repair" contractors are sent out to make corrections, hopefully to the homeowner's satisfaction, which should have been completed before closing. We hope to be satisfied that the lackluster finish does not attest to the integrity of the structure. ... More

The home came out ok, but all the little details such as painting, caulking and grouting were done very messy. I still have grout stuck in the middle of tiles that was never removed. I found that my guest tub was installed cracked and they tried to patch it up, this is unacceptable for a brand new home. Overall not a great experience for my first home.

Customer service is average, at best. Better home builders out there.

Our experience was plagued by lack of communication and our field manager was changed three times during the build process. The last month of the build was a complete rush and showed in the quality of the workmanship at the end.

As we walk through our home, I see so many flaws, lack of heart put into the smallest things. The caulking looks like a childs work, corners are not squared and off on sides, counter tops drilled for 3 holes and there should have been one. Instead of replacing, it was covered and left as if we wouldn't notice. It was attempted to be fixed, but for sure still noticable! Cabinets are leaning and it has taken forever to get them to even call us back. The carpet on steps is unraveling. Im having a hard time with all the imperfections! On a new home??

Things were not smooth since start and then issues with construction, delay in the closing and now going through the issues that I'm seeing in the house that were noted at the time of closing and here after 2 month still not fully taken care. And seeing the how much least bother the Pulte group is in resolving these issues. I would recommend to buy some older house instead.

What is considered standard is very cheap. Nickle and dime you to include any upgrades.

Home is beautiful. Salesperson should reference a list of options to go over with home buyer-not rely on home buyer discovering that something wasn’t even offered during the building process. Also, salesperson strongly suggested that I not get the backsplash option for my kitchen, and do it myself, but when I thought it through and thought that because I bought a range tower exhaust, it might be wise to have the builder do the backsplash was abruptly told by the salesperson that it was too late and I had to do it myself, regardless of my willingness to pay the $500 change fee. When I made onsite visits, I was appalled to see that workers left empty bottles and cups and trash in my new Kohler bathtubs and that one window screen was severely trashed and on the floor in the garage. Field manager said that as a homebuyer, I could call at any time and he would respond—-not true.....never returned phone calls. Salesperson and field manager blamed the US Post Office for placement and assignment of mailboxes. Was told by both the salesperson and the field manger that my mailbox would be right across the street from my house....not true....discovered after closing that my mailbox was not one of the four towers across the street from me, but one block over. Field manager blamed landscaping company for not installing sod until day after I closed on the house, which benefitted the builder because builder didn’t have to pay the water bill for watering sod. Names of streets are confusing....One half of a block is Samantha Joy Lane and the other half is Samantha Joy Court. Mail is messed up because the numbering duplicates numbers of houses on other streets and mail carriers are severely confused. Construction traffic oftentimes blocks the mailboxes so that those of us residents who have to drive to our mailboxes cannot stop and safely get out to check the mail. Pulte is not a custom builder. It’s quantity, not quality. There is an obvious lack of pride in workmanship amongst the trades and not much accountability from Pulte.

From purchase leading to closing I felt it was a good experience. However, upon closing I felt the celebration was not a celebration as the home wasn’t fully ready. House was dusty, dirty, not cleaned, paint touch up needed and was not presentable for a ready move in. Upon moving in I did experience nails poking people’s feet around the carpet area, which I questioned the quality of work. Having said that the thing most affecting the rating is related to the “fungus” gnats issues I’m been dealing with since moving in. I was told pest and bugs are home owners problem. However, I did not caused it. Nonetheless I did everything from cleaning my house, windows, spray store bought solutions as well household solutions on the gnats. These were only temporary. The gnats continues to be swarming around my windows and house. Upon further inquiry I was told, though rare, these type of gnats are caused by the soil the home is build on. The recommended solution by Pulte was to pour bleach in the drain. I would think that if you value your customers, you would want to get ahead of this before the issue become bigger rather than washing your hands of this. The quality of the Lumber, paint grade and paint workmanship is poor. The hard wood floor started chipping within few weeks of moving into the home.

Started off with a good experience, overall excitement and eagerness to move in. The neighborhood was oversold too quickly and then the delays started. Understandable for weather delays and supply shortages (who could’ve predicted the market and wood supply issue) what wasn’t understandable was the lack of communication and the excuses we ran into. For any issues or potential issues we brought up, we were told “it’s up to code” for delays we were told “you should’ve expected delays” on our walkthrough before closing-2 days before closing, we still did not have power to the house or AC- all things our neighbors had prior to 2 days from closing. The day of closing we did a walk through to mark where paint needed to be touched up and other issues. This should’ve been done prior to the day of closing 2 hours before closing. The house hadn’t been cleaned and the paint touch ups left paint on the tile floors and some on the carpet. Things were over looked and the home wasn’t cleaned other than vacuumed, prior to us moving in etc. We love the floor plan, but not the final product handed over to us. This is our 3rd Pulte group build- and by far the most disappointing. ... More

Love our home now that’s it’s done but it was a long time coming that required a lot of oversight which was very frustrating at times.

I think there was a rush in completing the home, compromising with quality.

If what you are looking for is quality work with a builder who is proactive in satisfactorily remedying workmanship issues then this isn't the builder for you. The home overall is in good condition however the subcontractors used by the builder were primarily people who could fog a mirror not specializing in their specific craft and the quality of the work speaks for itself. The builder's idea of remedying the workmanship is far from what you would expect for a new home or from a builder of this magnitude. In fact, I would be embarrassed to resale my home with some of the work that was done to it. Thankfully we plan to be here for a few years so I can have the work redone. But yet again, this shouldn't be the case when purchasing a new home. I can't stress enough to be sure to hire your own home inspector through all the phases of your build. I can't imagine what they would've done or not done structurally now knowing what they did and didn't do cosmetically. ... More

We have been in the house for over a month now. We had a list of issues from our walk through that weren’t fix before we moved in and additional issues we have found since moving in. There were covers left off of electrical outlets, broken freezer shelf, leaking shower in the master, and vent hood in the kitchen that was installed wrong. These are big issues , not just paint touch ups and we still have had no word on when any of it will be fixed. It appears your goal is to wait long enough for people to forget about things or end up doing the repairs themselves. It’s very disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend pulte to anyone. ... More

I had a bad experience around closing time as there seemed like there was no coordination or communication between the involved stakeholders. Closing got delayed and since i was moving from out of state that made my experience even worse overall.

It’s wonderful to be in a brand new home. Unfortunately, that gets ruined when you spend the first couple months constantly finding all of the poor workmanship that wasn’t caught during your brief final inspections. Walls out of square, sloppy craftsmanship all over the place, broken doors, drawers, and cabinets. Very slow response to get anything taken care of. If you’re thinking of building a new home in the Indianapolis area, go with anyone other than Pulte. You’ll be happy you did.

The sales team and field managers are client/owner focused throughout the process.

Mediocre quality and follow through from construction team! Pulte should do a better job upfront instead of sending subcontractors to constantly correct their mistakes.

When you do your walk through make sure you pay attention to everything.

The wrong stove was installed and the salesperson is not responding to me.
