The project manager was very professional, kept me inform at all times of the progress on the construction site in a weekly basis, he was always available, very committed and patient with my endless questions and most importantly he took the time to reviewed the third-party inspection reports that I hired and took actions from the suggestions. Thank you Dustin for all your work, I really appreciate it!

Pulte Homes - Pulte Mortgage requires a lot of disclosures when you purchase

  • Lisa C.

Pulte Mortgage requires a lot of disclosures when you purchase from them. And at the end, they sell your loan. I’m still waiting on a 30 day walkthrough after 6 weeks of living in my home. It’s time consuming to get your issues looked at and discussed with the builder. Pulte does build a beautiful home though.

New Home Quality and Communication

Understanding that life as we know it took a major turn the day we received our keys to our new home (March 17, 2020). I wish the frustrations with of that timeframe were all that we experienced, unfortunately, they are not. Our walk-thru (key day) was less than stellar. They were still putting up our block wall, pouring the bedroom stoop, planting trees and shrubs, pouring the rocks and putting in the gate. The cleaning people went to the wrong house (as told to us). We left to allow them to do some work - they did not. I cleaned our new home from the dirt of construction. Dirt e v e r ...

As a first time home buyer a lot of things were missed in the upgrading options. HOA going up with not even being in the home for 2 months with no notice. Just the whole buying experience and process was not great. Lack of communication.

We had major flooding on the day after moving in to our new home. It has been four months and our backyard is till torn up by construction. There are also electrical wires that run along the front of our yard to the neighbor's house. We are not sure why.

Frustrating Close Process

The overall build process was good, but we were severely rushed through the close process. We were asked to sign off on items that weren’t fixed in order to not delay our close. We were promised multiple times that the remaining items would be fixed immediately. But we’re over a month post close and most of these items remain open. Multiple times we’re been told they were coming by to fix then nobody shows up.

Pulte Homes responded:
We apologize for the delays and are sincerely disappointed that your closing experience wasn't pleasant. Please email socialcare@pultegroup.com with some more information and our care team will make sure those issues get resolved. ^Abby

Overall We Love Our Home

It's difficult to thoughtfully rate our home buying experience in such a brief summarization. By far there are more positives than negatives. Building a home is a huge undertaking, and no matter how hard you plan, there will be things that go wrong. Unfortunately those are the things that stand out when asked in a rating like this. My advice, it's really important to be very detailed oriented and go over each step with a fine-tooth comb, and then go over it again. And no matter how much you think you have costs covered, it's going to cost more. We knew that was how it would be, and we ...

Not a bad experience, at first!

Our sales rep., Gita Adib, was lovely and very helpful. Our field manager, Shawn Turner, was very nice and responsive to our concerns. We have to say that after closing, responsiveness is NOT good. We were given 30 days from closing to email a list with cosmetic concerns that we wanted addressed. Most, if not all, of our concerns were noted at our "Celebration" walk through and not taken care of. A representative from Pulte, Brad, was sent to take a look at our requests and he set up two appointments with us. He seemed very nice and understanding about the things we wanted taken care ...

The buying process went very well. Shout to Reem our sales consultant and Caroline with from the mortgage company. It was a pleasure working with both ladies. Construction and warranty has not been a good experience. Pending items from final walk was not completed and warranty items submitted over a month are not completed but interior and exterior. I would not recommend purchasing a Pulte home based on quality and workmanship from construction.

So Pulte left me hangign when Sunpower went bankrupt. I paid for the system. During Sunpower bankruptcy, Pulte advised Solaria is taking over the solar systems asset dibision and all the terms and vonditions stays the same. It turned out that was not true. I've been trying to the system connected for a while now and get tossed from one department to the other. This was not what I signed up for and I told the sales rep with this whole Sunpower bankruptcy, Pulte is going to leave their chstomers to bear the cost. Exactly what I predicted is what is happening. I think if ad customer we are not ...

Feel as though accountability and quick action is lacking with basic warranty issues and it requires a heavy push to get things done with the construction and warranty folks. Seem to blame others instead of accepting responsibility and completing the work correctly the 2nd time.

Paying a million and chasing for every walk in inspection item has been a pain. On top of that management didn’t pay attention to have the home ready with internet fiber cable. Takes 2 weeks to put things in order. I am asked to close home with all items open otherwise it will create a lot of other issues (like a threat) then asked to sign off on walk in inspection checklist to mark everything is closed. After chasing construction manager for 6 weeks now , I am told go and raise service request and he only managed production lines. Few like a fool with sweet talks on signing the documents ...

This was our second build with Pulte. There were issues from the very beginning, starting with the Project Manager who was totally clueless. Quality and workmanship from the subs was drastically different from only 3 years ago. We had to stay on top of things daily and supplied pics and letters to PM. Had to get his boss involved to get things done . Almost a year of nightmares but happy to finally be in and hopefully nothing major arises. Because of all of the issues documented, we were locked out the last few weeks which was totally childish. It was honestly a very long and grueling ...
