Does Not Do What They Say They Will

Pulte Homes does not do what they say they will. Sales Staff (Mark) is dishonest and not transparent about lot release dates, pricing or timelines. The Construction Staff (Robbie) deflects and places the blame on the sub-contractors. Which is silly considering Pulte Homes is ultimately responsible and pays the sub-contractors. They have not been responsive to the 12 month warranty items. Customer Care Team (Mariah) does not respond to service requests. If you have any other option choose them. You will not get what you pay for from Pulte Homes and their customer service is atrocious.

I am extremely sorry to write this review because it won’t be good. I waited - stalked - this location because it’s where I wanted to build my house. I was so excited to get in on the first release and to get my first choice on my lot. I drove by almost weekly when the house was being built. I was so excited to close on May 23, 2022! And that’s when the trouble began. There are so many issues with this house. And the warranty department is absolutely TERRIBLE! You cannot get ahold of anyone. Every call goes directly to voicemail and there is no point leaving a message because it will go ...

Stay on top of your superintendent. They throw these houses up quickly and do NOT pay attention to quality. I had multiple walls that were not square and are still being fixed two months after we moved in. Once you sign and move in you are not a priority.

Questionable Worksmanship and Poor Management

Prepare to be "sold" on the model homes they show you. Unfortunately, almost nothing resembles the quality of the model. Poor worksmanship plagues this company leading to constant warranty requests. Items that were listed on the documentation at closing will NEVER get done so be prepared to delay closing. During the building process, their management team is absent, has no idea what is going on, and will not work with the buyer, regardless of the reasonable offers to help with moving the build forward. They will then "force" you to close with many outstanding items because they only care ...

Pulte Homes - If all sales people at Pulte are anything like the one we had

  • Luis P.

If all sales people at Pulte are anything like the one we had to deal with, we would have never signed the contract. Our sales person is only interested in getting that initial contract and then disappears blaming everyone else at Pulte for any delays/inconveniences that arise (even the ones he created).

Home is still incomplete after 2 months. Missing master shower, doors, and damaged cabinets. I’ve built 4 homes before. This experience is worst. $500,000 for low quality is inexcusable.

Just poor quality and after sales warranty

Expected much more from Pulte, especially after our second home that was built by them. Quality of materials and build was really disappointing and even more so was the rush to try and complete major issues before closing. Were also promised that major items still pending would be finished within days after closing. Should have trusted my instinct because it is going on 2 months and still no resolutions and we have to be the one constantly pursuing the so called warranty manager to get answers and only to receive attitude and no control over any subs.

Still waiting to get things finished and/or replaced for our new home

Our first newly built home where we hoped to be able to relax and retire has been a nightmare. We closed and moved in a little over a month ago and have had repairs done nearly every week for missing grout and caulk in the bathrooms, broken cabinet doors and door locks that don't work. Repairs can take hours for something that should take half the time. We are still waiting for a fix to be able to use a shower since there is an actual hole in tile. We also moved in to a broken oven (still waiting to find out if it was broken in transit or during install and we can't activate a warranty until ...

Will not respond or fix anything after closing

Things that were talked about at walk through have not been fixed. Field Manager is unresponsive or promises that someone will be out to fix it but never comes. I have contacted the national office who told me the local office needed to take care of it and I was just circled back to the same Field Manager. Terrible, no non-existent customer care.

Pulte Homes responded:
Thanks for taking the time to write this review and let us know how we can improve. We apologize that our communication has not been up to par and will certainly share these comments with our local leadership team. We would like to take the time to look further into the issues you are experiencing and try to make things right. Please email us at customersupport@pultegroup.com.

Within a couple weeks moving into what I thought would be a quality home things are falling apart . There are many corners / walls in my home that are not even . Kitchen cabinets have fallen apart . Heater was defective and never tested properly . Plumbing was backed up . Cracks all over the exterior or the home . Cracks in the interior of my home around all the windows . The quality absolutely sucks .

No accountability between Pulte and the contractors they hire to build the home

There's a huge disconnect between Pulte and the contractors they hire to install and build the home. The small issues are taken care of in an average time frame, but the big issues, they dance around and make all the excuses in the world why they can't fix it.

Quality control is an issues as there was very little oversight of the contractors that did the work. We had to point out major issues that needed addressed that Pulte blatantly missed. On the positive side house designs where nice and the design team was helpful.

First the walls are so thin that you can hear any conversation from one room to the other with the doors closed. Second, the finishing touches are simply the worst. Third, a large amount of things have to be redone, it never ends. After living at the house for some time now things are still trying to be corrected.

Lack of professional service from issues identified after move in. My major issue is with the sink that is not long enough and when washing hand or dishes excessive water gets on the counter. The advise given is that to pull the hose down with one hand and wash with the other. Incredible! How do I do that when I need both hands to wash hands and dishes! Terrible service. I asked for follow up from manager and was told “you do it”. Terrible!!!!

I understand in this economic climate there's a lot of "hurry up and wait" with subcontractors. A week before close you look at the house and think certainly it won't be ready. They then rush to close because they have to meet their month-end quotas. Two days before close we do a walkthrough ("Build Quality Celebration") and point out a lot of cosmetic, attention to detail issues. You then don't get another opportunity to inspect the house. I close and it turns out a number of walk-through items weren't completed, such as a missing outlet cover, trash in the garage, trim separating from ...

Quality control is an issue. Huge issue. No one is checking the work to make sure done correctly. No one is maintaining containing regarding weathered list. Wished I hadn’t of signed so bonuses were dispersed for those who do work hard. Response from maintenance issues 30 days out from closing...well...still haven’t heard back but website says will in 24-48 hours. It’s been almost 2 weeks now...that speaks for itself.
