Not impressed with Pulte Homes

Several items were not completed before moving in. Several delays in finishing house. We spent thousands in rental fees while waiting for Pulte to finish our house. When my wife went to get an entrance key for the gym, the person to give those out to her told her she would need to provide a warranty deed before she would be allowed to use the facility. Why is this? Doesn’t Pulte Homes know of a thing called email. Could Pulte Closing just send an email stating who we are and which house we have bought. I am not impressed by Pulte Homes. One thing that bothered me was the contractor supervisor ...

Unfortunately we became disillusioned with Pulte administration. From gaslighting to outright untruths. We felt rushed to pick out materials only to have delays six months later as items had not yet been ordered. We felt that Pulte was doing us a favor by building this house. Also, there was very little flexibility when we wanted to make a change but when Pulte made a change we were just supposed to go along with it.we also had multiple project managers. At times, we had become the problem solvers as the managers didn’t seem to know a next step. When we questioned why something wasn’t ...

From a distance homes look beautiful, inside and out. However, upon closer inspection there are design flaws, styling inconsistencies, and poor workmanship throughout from subcontractors with subpar and sometimes damaged materials. I have experience with a Murray Franklin home and the MF quality control is superior by comparison. At the end of the day though, I love my house and love where I live and that makes up for a lot.

The overall home is very nice. The market is high right now so I believe we paid more than what it is worth, but it is comparable to others in the area. The hardest part we have had with this builder is getting things corrected when they aren't right the first time. Getting the crews to come back after you have closed on the house is horrible. It takes a very long time. I would highly recommend if you can to visit your house often before closing and have everything fixed PRIOR.

Lack of Communication

Our buying experience was less than ideal. The communication was far less than what we thought it should be and the financing with Pulte Mortgage was very frustrating and complex. We ultimately financed through another lender. The construction manager (Nate) was very helpful in giving updates and helping with our request, so that was much appreciated.

Jury is still out - Water intrusion on multiple floors of home
- Chip P.

This is potentially a pre-emptive review, but since we were prompted by Pulte Homes to submit a review, here's where we are now: - The home is beautiful and we love our lot and community - We have water intrusion on multiple floors of the home: > The living/gathering room windows (plural) are leaking water into the window sill when it rains. Contractor has been out twice to resolve - issue persists. > The basement foundation has a 1/16" crack (extends ~4'), and this is resulting in water in the basement of our brand new home

I wish the quality of homes Pulte built was better. It isn't terrible but it could definitely be better. They have had issues with subcontractors, getting people to do the work in a timely manner, contractors messing up previously completed work that needs to be redone, etc. We experienced many delays and believe much of it could have been mitigated if we had better CMs. They padded the timeframe they told us to complete our home when we signed yet they still weren't able to meet those timeframes. We would have gone 4 mo past the longest timeframe they had given us if we hadn't gotten a new ...

Very disappointed in Pulte’s response to water in my basement

I have owned my Pulte home less than 45 days and was, overall, quite pleased with it. Then we had a moderate rainfall and my basement was flooded. Mike, our Customer Care representative, came out to bring fans and a dehumidifier, which were greatly appreciated. Mike took the cover off our sump pump, and discovered that the well had several large pieces of rock, brick, and wood, which had apparently blocked the pump and caused it to malfunction. As soon as we discovered the water in the basement, we moved everything over to an area that was dry. However, we had a large area rug in my craft ...

My husband and I were so excited to move into our new-build Pulte home, but the excitement was stolen from us when the week we closed, as the place was a mess. Scratched floors, splattered paint on the floors and countertops, direr windows, missing pieces to blinds, loose siding on the house, and a few others. Pulte cares about their quality, but the contractors they hire do not. We have lived here for a month now, and they are still fixing a few things, but the home is beautiful, exactly what we envisioned, and we look forward to making this our life-long home.

Sloppy work/ poor craftsmanship. It feels and looks very rushed. There are holes in walls that we are finding in random places that were missed during walk through, globs of paint everywhere on the walls even after pointing out and fixing over 50 during walk through, uneven cabinets etc. They also have an awful warranty. Flooring isn't even covered! We have only been in our home 2 months and the floor is already coming up and they are saying it’s not covered under warranty.

Rushed finishing work to close on house

Rushed to do walk through as the cleaners scurry out of front door. Expected to do a thorough walk through by myself, not advised to bring others to help. Many missed issues and then no further clean up after painters and others had to come in to fix the things seen on first walk through. Very sloppy, many paint spots all over carpet and tile. All tile grout filled with sand and dirt requiring many hours of me cleaning. Fuse for fridge went out within a week of moving in. A Shower drain not draining and they can't come out to fix for 2 weeks then they schedule it wrong and can't come for ...

This was about an average experience. We paid for a full home and got an almost completed one. It's still not completed from items identified months ago. Communication was submitted oar to start became very good near closing and has become almost non existent again. Pulte basically acts as a scheduler for a lot of sub contractors. So I strongly recommend yiu pay for a pre drywall inspection, a pre close inspection, and try to get an expert to come woth yiubduring the walk through. If yiur walk through dorsnt take 4+ hours, I guarantee you are missing something and it's a real pain to get ...

We had a great experience with our Sales person Maria. She was very responsive to all our questions. Pulte can improve on their workmanship by making sure everything was completed prior to closing. We had a lot of items on the walk through that were never completed and still waiting to be completed a month after the closing. Also clean up of sidewalks should have been done as stains from constructions are very noticeable and ruins the curb appeal of the house and the neighborhood. We had a technician come to our house and he noticed the stains on the sidewalks in front of our house right ...

We built a Pulte home in 2007 and then just completed another recently(March, 2023) and the quality of work, project management, communication and value have dropped significantly. Pulte has put more focus on profits than the customer experience which is why we would not recommend buying a Pulte home in today's environment.

Once home is signed for Pultie s very slow to respond to home issues let along give direction on how to get things fixed. Been here 7 weeks and still no back yard. Pultie won’t come and fix things, like painting, leftover blue tape for 10 months! No one wants to take responsibility for home issues, granted they are little but paying what we did for a home we shouldn’t be treated this way.

They will rush you into your decisions and promise lots of things but damaged doors, holes in walls and ceilings, broken fixtures, fading paint, the list goes on. Paying half million for a house you expect a level of quality that just isn't there. 2022 must have been a bad year for laborers.

We moved into a Catalina. We are still waiting for punch repairs. Finish work is not great. Cabinets are already slitting. Too many items still being found to list. Wall finishes are thin and scrape off with cleaning. Main issues: paint, tile, cabinets, pavers, garage flash installed backward, defective hot water heater. Etc.

Our construction manager, Evan, was really good and went above and beyond. In comparison to our other new builds - everything else regarding the Pulte experience has been average to below average. There is not much of a follow up after you get the keys. The sales agent completely disappears (at least ours did). And lastly, make sure to get all issues with the home resolved before moving in because it can possibly take months to get things fixed under the warranty.

Pulte needs to step up their game for quality control on the use of their sub-contractors. It seemed at the tail end of the build they incurred all kinds of inferior quality workmanship and follow-up. Very disappointed. They did their best to fix the issues, but it was a head ache getting there.

Quality of materials used is concerning. There are mold in basement which is not covered with in warranty. Radon level is high which is also not covered in warranty.. Any cosmetic damage that you see post closing is also not covered under warranty.. So basically you are taking the same risk when you buy from any ordinary builder except you pay premium price here..
