Hard process to go thru when buying a houe

The only positive from building this house was Dave, the construction manager. He helped always and was very kind and caring. We have many areas where paint is there. We have many dents in our drywall that were just painted over and never filled in. We have paint drips all over the house on our floors. The three external doors all close wrong and weather striping is coming off. We have huge ditches in our yard that the city said had to be made or we'd have flooding. No one compensated us for no yard now but charged us additional money for a corner lot. At least they could have taken away the ...

They subcontract everything and those contractors are awful. Examples: doors don't hang properly, hot water doesn't work, carpet laid on construction debris and missing flooring, sprinklers leak, heating doesn't reach bedrooms etc etc.

There are many parts of our home that are very unprofessionally finished-Front door was installed crooked, brick edge along front step has a hump and not laid flat, sloppy painting throughout, several windows had significant scratches in the glass, woodwork is very poorly lined up and stuffed with caulk, then painted over, there was a chunk out of our patio which was patched and now visible, there is cracking in the concrete driveway, the interior doors are cut way too short, the insulation is of very poor quality and we can hear right through the walls to the outside, we are starting to ...

Trustworthiness is frequently surfacing due to how the Pulte Group responds to the homeowner once the property is turned over to the owner. This brief survey does not allow for specifics only general response(s). The longer that I own the home, the less Pulte is interested in my concerns, expectations or grievances. This is across the board from sales to repairs. Talking to other homeowners in my neighborhood, they have similar experiences also.

Pulte Homes responded:

New Pulte Home Review - Purchased 9 August 2019

My wife and I purchased this new home when we moved to Texas from Georgia. The house has major air conditioning issues to this day that have not been corrected (12 A/C service calls), there have been multiple issues that had to be addressed that should have been caught by the builder before we closed yet were identified after closing, the master bedroom closet shelves collapsed, and the overall effort of the Pulte team to address customers concerns with their new homes after closing is below average to say the least. My experience with Pulte with regards to repairs after closing has not been ...

The quality of our new home is sub-par. After moving in we noticed that 2 walls in the middle of our home aren't even close to straight. They're slated to be repaired but being that were occupying the home now it will be a big inconvenience. Our A/C unit wasn't wired correctly and shorted out leaving us without air while 100+ outside and by the time it was repaired it was almost 90 in our home. Considering we just lost our home in a fire the potential to have another fire was concerning. When we moved in we discovered that the water valves in both bathrooms were installed backwards and we ...

4 1/2 months after closing I still do not have my irrigation system or yard installed. Horrible customer service full of threats, but they do not follow through on anything that they commit to. I used Pulte Title and they did not pay the insurance at closing, although they say the check must have been lost in the mail. I will never buy another Pulte home. STAY AWAY!!!

Hello, I was one of the first people to close on a smart home at Pulte and Georgia Power’s Altus at the Quarter development. Unfortunately, the high hopes I had for my new home were dealt a severe blow due to my horrible experience with closing on my new home. As an initial matter, I was pressured to close on the sale of my former home early so that I could close on my Pulte home on time. Therefore, I worked with my buyer to move up the closing date to May, as I was informed that my new home would be ready to close at the end of May. However, my Pulte closing date was pushed back by two ...

The mortgage and title process experience were great. I was able to get answers to questions in a timely matter. That is not true with customer service with their responsiveness to issues. Every call went to voicemail. I did not get call backs or in a timely manner. You will have some things like not having the air conditioning turned on, or the heat which is frustrating. It took 3 weeks after I moved in to get a trash can. This was the responsibility of the hoa and their hired management company. What were the homeowner of the condo to do in the interim? The move-in experience needs to be ...

Nice employees but poor company & quality. Still scraping paint from tiles, lots of flaws in paint job, drawers don’t close properly, electrical issues (lights in kitchen won’t work after 3.5 weeks of use), washer not functioning properly (part of deal)...the list goes on. I made a mistake purchasing a new home from PULTE. Love the neighborhood but with I had gone with a different builder.

Plute Homes Worst New Home Builders

The lack of quality control and the incompetence of Pulte homes contractors is beyond frustrating. Ten drywall holes were left to fix various issues ( water pipes , cabinets and more) after closing, and the response time for repairs is horrendous. Multiple follow-ups are required just to get anyone to show up. The shower floors have air pockets in them, causing them to break—this has already happened three times in last couple of months. The cabinets are poorly installed and misaligned, making the kitchen look like a disaster. The upgraded kitchen range burners are constantly malfunctioning, ...

It is impossible to get a response whether it is via the portal, in the office or the 1800 number. The friendly service received during the sales process (although not always efficient) leaves a lot to be desired once the keys are handed over. We have not moved in, 60 days after signing, and there are multiple issues that Pulte is leaving unresolved. Completely frustrated. Highly recommend to plan ample time between inspection, items getting addressed and final signature. Do not sign until it is all done - I was told some things could be handled after signing and clearly not the case. Also ...

We purchased one of the model homes. We've owned a Pulte Home in the past and we're very happy with the workmanship. However, this experience has been quite different. Since moving in we have found a number of issues. We have been met with great difficulty having these issues resolved. I was promised by Dana that Pulte wanted my home perfect that’s why it took so long to finish. Let me tell you my house is far from perfect! On my final walk through with Brian and Dustin I, my son and granddaughter pointed out all the flaws and marked them with painters tape. They took no notes and kept nodding at the mistakes. When I moved in a week later the tape was gone and nothing was fixed. They did manage to put handles on my laundry room cabinets that’s all. I sent them text messages asking when they planned on coming back and was told they were not. My walls have cracks in the ...

Very cheap building quality, quick fix repairs, and a company that prides themselves on quality. Their advertised quality and the Pulte care experience was false. They care about covering up their mistakes quickly and quietly, they care about not taking accountability for major defects, and they also don’t care about using the homeowners time to conduct shotty repairs.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the poor workmanship and repeated water leaks in my brand‐new Pulte home. Multiple defects—ranging from improperly installed plumbing to inadequate insulation—have caused water damage to the subfloor, drywall, and carpeting. Despite reporting these issues immediately, the builder’s response has been slow and dismissive, forcing me to personally manage moisture mitigation and mold prevention at my own expense. In my view, these failures go beyond minor oversights; they raise serious concerns about Pulte’s compliance with industry standards and building ...

The sales office needs a new rep, Craig’s lack of knowledge in real estate is only surpassed by his lack of professionalism. Brian, site manager, could care less about getting “punch list” things taken care of - basically if the structure hasn’t fully collapsed, you’re not getting much attention. The craftsmanship was clearly below average. Measurement markings left behind, unfinished wood work, were all just left to be after closing. It doesn’t seem to be a tall order to have everything completed in full at the end of close. The unit had multiple stains in carpet prior to closing, Brian said ...
