The finishing of the house is below average and the price paid for the house seems pretty high. The corners are very rough and not finished as per expectations. Those were not smoothen for a nice look. The baseboards were left with holes; though the field manager send someone to fix those but those are still looking pretty rough. The paint on the baseboards is not smooth; it is still showing the filled holes different from the paint. The transitions and turns of the baseboards are not aligned and shows big gapes. The woodwork on the stair doesn't seem to be done by a professional at all; the ...

Pulte's home quality issues

Pulte did not meet our expectations with respect to the quality of workmanship of the house. There were so many drywall issues before closing which Pulte didn't bother fixing and asked us to close the home first and rest will be taken care right after closing. It's been 6 weeks since we moved in and our drywalls were not fixed as promised. They kept postponing dates and only performed temporary fixes and not resolving the issue as a whole. Due to this we are unable to settle down in the house as quickly as we could. If I could build a home all over again, I would go with a different builder.

Pulte responds to minor issues in a timely manner. However, I have no driveway, only rocks and front steps that are pressed wood. Very unsafe. Have lived here almost a month and they say “soon.” Why? It’s almost June. My back porch is about 4 feet off the ground. No railings.

After submitting an offer that was excepted, a deposit was made, and a very important item that was agreed upon was taken away. It’s tough and I could forfeit my deposit I was told I would not get the item after three weeks into this and there was nothing they could do about it. I was told I could forfeit my deposit if I didn’t like it. I was hoping after communicating back-and-forth for weeks on this item that it will come to a resolution that I was very happy with and unfortunately it did not. Another frustration I have concerns a privacy fence request that I submitted weeks ago. I have ...

We had a great initial experience while at the model home and home design process. There were minor issues which were easily resolved. Towards the end things went poorly. It was obvious there were milestones that needed to be met even if standards would be sacrificed. We ended doing our final walkthrough with the home being unfinished. There were literally walls that were unpainted and holes. When we closed there were actually still open holes with exposed electrical pieces. I received many apologies and excuses. It is now two months after closing and still receive intermittent emails about ...

The woman who handled our purchase has been great and has been very responsive when we brought up concerns. However, the man responsible for our home construction was nice enough, but we are still waiting a month later for him to fix problems noted prior to closing. Though he repeatedly told us that he would be with us for thirty days following closing. The warning about “getting work done before they get your money” could not be truer. He missed two options we had requested. The first was fixed prior to closing. The second was a double sink in the bathroom. There was only one sink ...

Disappointed in some of the bathroom fixtures, about as cheap as they could get. Frustrated that homes that have not closed have their cement sidewalks and driveways in and we have been hear over a month and still do not have our cement. Still are not graded either so we cannot plant grass. When painters came in to fix items they rushed and did not do a quality job. Front door repair looked like a 6th grader did the work. other homes being built in subdivision, so nails and screws all over the street and no-one ever cleans them up except me. Very poor craftsmanship overall. The house was not cleaned before closing and there were countless issues, they rushed to complete what they could in the one-hour window while we were at our closing appointment. One-hour was obviously not enough time to do the work that was needed to be done, then they wrote us off once we signed the papers. Countertops were cracked in several places at closing and they won't replace them, they just glued two of the pieces back together but cracks still exist and they will not respond to emails about it. Also there are holes in the drywall, gouges in stairs, ...

Terrible with warranty issues. Sinkholes throughout entire Pulte subdivision. Admission that land was not prepped appropriately. Rather than reach out transparently to homeowners affected, everyone has had to track down people to talk to. Warranty windows set by Pulte and confirmed by homeowner result in trades not showing up as scheduled causing missed work and worse, no repairs being made unless homeowner reschedules. I purchased this house because when I came to see the model home, it was elegantly on display without a single defect, so I expected the final home that they will sell me would also be without defects. But the home I walked into has cabinets that are chipped, kitchen island that is not aligned with the center of the kitchen, and molding in the kitchen that is not even painted. Very bad experience after closing with warranty team. Aeron in charge had no interest in following up with issues in regards to our driveway pavers which was stained and broke while we were closing, a claim was filed and no answer received, not even a follow up. Pulte did an okay job for us, but we are not 100% satisfied. Now after living in the home for almost 3 months, we feel we overpaid and got a lesser product than what was advertised. Every team we dealt with tried to shift the blame down to the next team, and would consistently tell you that you can't expect things to be done right. The sales team did an okay job, but there is very little involvement from them. Mostly, it's up to you to just pick the lot and home you want. The design process was ok as well. Every time we submit a claim, we get told “this wasn’t reported during close, so we don’t know who damaged it”. That can be said for anything because it’s such a fine line. Seems a little ridiculous for such an expensive house and things are supposed to be under warranty. I can say the same where they purposely placed things that had flaws where it wouldn’t be obvious without inch by inch inspection.

Within 48 hours of moving in we had to have them come and tear out a shower wall because it was installed improperly. When I went back to the sales office to find out what to do, the sales agent said ‘it’s ok, it’s under warrantee’ like it’s no big deal to have to tear up a bathroom upon moving in to my new home because I don’t have to pay to fix it!!?! Our experience was not the best. We felt pushed and also not heard. We know Pulte is not a custom builder however some of the items we inquired about were brushed aside, not properly addressed and/or we were given wrong information. One of the worst parts of the build was the sloppy nature of the contractors as we pointed out SO many things that needed to get fixed. Since moving into our new home there has been issues with fixing the quality of this home such as the woodwork, paint, and the yard. The HOA is non existent and there is trash, dead bushes and trees and old pine straw. The landscaping is NOT what was shown to us that this community would offer nor is the keep up. The amenities don't all work. This place already looks like rental quality. NOT a Pulte community. I have little hope this place will turn around. The only people that were helpful was Scott at the sales center and Darrin who helps with work requests.

Pulte is a low cost provider of housing and they are trying to be in the luxury segment in a community called ascension. They are out of their league and are not able to meet the expectations of a luxury buyer. The only reason they are getting the prices they are getting is due to the location, not the design or quality of the build. They are so bad with the customer journey and have no business being in this segment of the market. Summerlin (Howard Hughes Corp) is not thinking clearly either. Older Summerlin is so much better. Don’t buy in ascension from pulte if you want to spend $2m+.
