Awful communication, disappointing experience

Truly awful experience, ran into so many issues that it became awkward to continue to point them out. I felt like they rushed to complete my home and I notice it every day. I had double digit documented issues after I moved in and they still are not all fixed after living here for over a month! Communication has been poor at best. First morning we woke up to a flooded Landry room, master bedroom and walk in closet. Not recommending friends and family to go through what we went through.

This is the worst experience I have ever had with a builder, an yes I have built previously. Project managers were horrible (Zach, Chris (replaced Zach) and Mike the Project Manager over them, unreceptive and did not provide updates as promised Mike Bahr was the worst individual to deal with, he was even more useless than the others. Mike swore he would get all the issues would be completed and forced me in to closing, even though the house was clearly not ready. All the project managers are no longer with the company. 3 months into the home since closing I have a sagging garage ceiling, ...

Field manager ignored buyer’s concerns throughout the build process. Due to supply delays, Pulte took shortcuts to keep production moving. This meant drywall, floors, cabinets, and appliances were all installed before windows and exterior door were installed. No effort was made to cover windows from the elements. Issues that were not corrected prior to closing, were promised to be corrected within 30 days. It’s now over 2 months passed closing and issues have not been resolved. I would like others to stay away from Pulte all together. I have never experienced such poor workmanship in my entire life. The so called brand new built is ready for renovation. There isn’t a single wall that is even, trim or paint that is applied correctly, tiles that are unevenly set, holes, scratches, etc. I understand that nothing is perfect and things are more complicated with COVID and “great resignation” on top of it, however there is no excuse for such poor quality on almost everything. Terrible craftsmanship, communications, zero honesty, responsiveness to issues was average or slightly above. People were pleasant to work with. The value of the home and the price I paid seem to be in two different worlds. I’ve been in my home for 1.5 months now still with items I’m waiting to be finished and finding more and more every day. I would never buy with pulte ever again and am counting down the days until I can get out of this brand new house

Our experience been terrible with these builders. Most of our stuff already needs repair and it’s only been 2 months since we have moved in. Our construction manager jimmy told us from the beginning that he has a family to go home to so no calls or emails to him on his days off because he doesn't care much about his job. Then we got a new manager name Dan. Dan is nothing but fake promises. Our garage door is left unpainted and his response is that its too cold. Meanwhile they are painting new houses left and right. Nothing but issues since move in. Instead of enjoying my home all I have been doing is taking pictures, documenting, emailing and following up. The flooring was installed incorrectly which is the largest issue and I’m having to fight every step of the way. I thought Pulte delivered quality but apparently they allow tolerance for lippage so they are only fixing the ones that are really bad. Outside of that that I have tons of pictures showing that every room in the house has issues including the backyard which was left with nails, razor blades and construction debris.

Sloppy building and many issues that need fixing

Although we enjoy the location of our new home immensely, we are incredibly disappointed in the sloppiness of the work that was done on our home. Many of the craftsmen who were contracted to do things like flooring and windows did subpar work, and now we require them to come back and fix what should have been done right the first time. For example, the medicine cabinets in two are our bathrooms were not level and were placed at an angle so they look ridiculous. Recent owner of a Pulte home in Southwest Florida. For all the advertising about excellent quality work and what not, they don’t even do a fraction of it. They have taken on way more than than they can handle and just are just cranking through houses to get better numbers while completely ignoring quality. The company refuses to solve any of the problems you point out about the homer unless you get someone who is very knowledgeable to argue with them. Things such as bumps all over the floors and a gaping gap between the floor and the parking garage door, half an inch crevice between the stove counter, walls that are protruding by about 1-2 inches, which are all normal according to Pulte. The small problems involves a crooked oven and microwave, which is useable but it could look better. Another is random nails missing from door hinges, which again is useable, but really could just not forget ...

Our experience with Pulte was awful if we would’ve known how bad of an experience we were going to have we would’ve definitely gone with a different builder. When we received the keys the house still needed many repairs most of which were addressed in the walkthrough and were told they would be fixed prior to closing. It has been a month since we moved in and we still haven’t been able to get anyone to come work on the repairs. It was definitely not move in ready.
