A fixer upper... at a new home price!

The quality of work was horrible. The house had a layer of dust and film on all of the cabinets and countertops. I spent 2 hours cleaning out stucco from my half vent windows so that I could open and close them. The toilet had fece stains underneath the lid and the seat. One of the kitchen drawers doesn't close. The cabinet under the sink still has the parts for where the shelf is supposed to be hung, but they just didn't install it. There is paint all over the floor, countertops, windows, bath tub, clothes rails, on the bottom of all of the cabinets, and on the carpet and tile. There is a 10 ...

Pulte does not seem to care about their customers once the contract is signed and they REALLY don’t seem to care after the sale of the home is complete. I understand that there have been unforseeable delays due to shipping issues and labor shortages. However, that does not excuse the times that we have caught their staff blatantly lying to us or more often than that, just refusing to respond to our inquiries or concerns timely. Buyer BEWARE! My advice is DO NOT purchase a home built by Pulte. We recently did and regret our choice. Qualified carpenters do not do the construction on interior or exterior. Our home should be totally redone. Interior trim not sanded prior to paint, particle board used as trim rather than wood. Exterior siding applied over damaged frame, attic trusses not installed properly, just for starters

After the closing of this house, problems started to appear. Doorbells, internet cables, air conditioners, and other minor problems were resolved, but they did not keep their promise until today. AC still has problem. I don't know when they will come to check and resolve it.

Please learn from us and also our entire street and avoid Pulte at all costs. Not only is there sheer incompetence at all levels, but extreme rudeness and screaming from the area construction manager is an absolute no-go. For the rest of the team, the ball was dropped every single step of the way. I am aware of the problem builders are having retaining workers and getting materials due to Covid, but the buyer is the one paying for this shortcoming. The quality of the build and workmanship is very poor, and the companies response to correcting these issues is lacking thus far. The warranty folks have stepped up and are trying to resolve the issues and I am hopeful they will make things right. It is very frustrating to spend you time waiting on worker to show up and correct problems that should have been done right the first time.

Worst decision I’ve made when it comes to buying a home

To start, the house still is not complete. We’re been lied to at every stage of the building process. The quality of work is garbage. Parts of the house have literally started falling apart within 1-2 weeks of moving in. No one ever comes to fix the issues. My building manager, Blake, was unable to tell the truth or had no idea what he was doing. I could go on and on but I’m working and this isn’t worth my time.

Make sure you get your price in writing, and signed. I was given a price, paid my deposit, then got a call the next day saying they were increasing the price by $10k, take it or leave it. Since they never countersigned, they had a legal right to do this and they would not budge. Clearly, profits took priority over customer service and integrity.

I don’t trust any of the workmanship of this home. By the time I correct all the unacceptable finishes and workmanship, I’ll have spent $700k. I could have built a better custom home! My old Denver, 1925 bungalow, was quality construction. This is NOT!

I would caution any new buyers to look elsewhere. We are 45 days into ownership and very disappointed. Not only did we have to make several concessions along the way, now we are dealing with very poor responsiveness post move in. I had very bad experience with Pulte. This is our first time with Pulte and we had other builders before. When we first went to the tour, the sales rep told us there were a couple lots releasing and we can put offers. He was selling us the house we bought. He said this lot has the biggest side yard and best view. We put an offer and got the house. When we came to do final walk through, the biggest yard was gone. Our side yard is the same as other lots.
