Quality of workmanship fall below the quality of the upgraded materials I pay for my new home

Small details that matter like painting job done in the doors, the installation of the material in the bathrooms, the refrigerator door dented, the finishes in the balcony (terrace) demonstrate lack of detail orientation or care for final output and are not aligned with the price paid for the upgrades. Since I still have to follow up with the community manager I can not in all fairness give any rating to trustworthiness since I am waiting to see if the company follows through with the promise to complete the work in question.... please consider trustworthiness as my believe that they have ...

Issues in our community

I'm talking about my house. The quality of the material is standard or less than standard. After just 2 weeks of moving into the house, the kitchen windows were loose and couldn’t be closed. The roof between the stairs and the living room / kitchen is too low to the extent that the furniture company could not carry the standard size sofa into the living room and I had to return it and buy Love seat instead. Stranger people park directly Infront of your home because it's considered public parking and most of the time you end up parking far from you home because other people are parking ...

Good sales folks | good house | but poor workmanship

I moved into my Pulte home about two months ago. Overall, the experience has been okay, but there have been several issues that I believe are worth mentioning: 1. Leaking shower – It took nearly two months to get this addressed, though it was eventually fixed. 2. Material quality – Some of the finishes feel quite cheap. For instance, the shower rods and towel bars keep coming loose. They’ve been fixed, but the poor installation quality makes this a recurring problem. 3. AC and hot water – Neither were working initially, but they were repaired fairly quickly. 4. Creaking stairs – The ...

I really like the modern look of the house. The craftsmanship is really poor. Some materials are very cheap. Sales representatives are very good and response to your queries. Expected more valued materials from Big group like Pulte.

Horrible painter vendor

Pulte’s painter vendor did a horrible job. It’s obvious that the painter vendor only used 1 coat of paint on the walls, doors, and trim. At this price point, Pulte needs to provide more oversight of its painter vendor.

Pulte - Watershed Community Isleton model

  • Jonelle S.

Overall the homes and the community are beautiful. The exterior aesthetic is different than most builders currently. I fell in love with the open layout design of the Isleton model, particularly the rear kitchen. However, a lot of the luxury options are not included with Pulte as they are with other builders. This is a huge negative. I also did not have a good experience with Pulte Mortgate. Tiffany was good but I did not have a good experience with my loan counselor Ryan and this led me to switch to a different mortgage lender, Truist, during the housebuying process. I am glad I made that ...

Never buy a new build Pulte home as a development is closing out

  • Michael G.

We purchased one of the last condos in Crown East - Gaithersburg. The communication within Pulte departments was terrible. Many times, we were left to fend for ourselves working with the various depts (Mortgage, Construction, Sales and now Warranty. We have built 3 other homes in our past and none were as non-responsive as Pulte. One last comment that explains their lack of coordination. This request for our opinion states that we purchased an MPDU home. That is incorrect, we actually purchased a full priced Condo. Hopefully their records don't show this.

Bottom Line: If you buy a Pulte home do not close/sign until your problems are resolved because they will not care once the papers are signed. Building workmanship /quality came with many issues that were pushed off and required multiple trips by the construction team to fix simple items that should have been caught by the builder before we arrived. We were accepting that things are busy and that it may take some time to get people over to fix things but now we are a month in and still having issues getting these initial problems addressed. This lack of quality control on items that were ...

Everything about this experience was, “just ok.” This is not to take away from any of the persons involved in the process. We never had a bad experience with a single person involved in this transaction. However, from the choices in the design center to truly shoddy work throughout the home. There is still a hole in the concrete near the foundation of our home. There are patches of compound that were not properly sanded or painted over. Nails sticking out of cabinets and floor boards that we can easily snag ourselves with. For the amount of money paid to this company, I would expect far more ...

Pulte is refusing to address poor insulation in the home that is resulting in excessive heat in the loft and extreme noise from the road behind my home even though I was required to pay for upgraded windows and insulation. They also refused to address high radon levels in my home which is a known problem in the entire development.

The thing that really bothered me was at the walkthru; the Pulte guys gave me an assurance that "If I needed anything to just reach out to them". Well I did. And no response. Guess they did not care anymore since the unit was sold. It was all song and dance.

Cheap Materials, Missing Basics, and Useless Parking

I purchased an unit from Pulte Homes and was shocked at the lack of value. The unit came with no microwave, washer, or dryer—basic appliances you’d expect to be included. The paint job was sloppy, materials look and feel like the cheapest options available, and the overall construction quality is poor. The parking garage is another major disappointment. The space is so small that even a small car can barely fit, making it essentially unusable. If I could go back, I would have researched more and inspected every detail before signing. Buyers should be aware that “brand new” doesn’t ...

The home buying experience was straight forward. We worked with Mary at the Laurel office. She was responsive and kind. Prior to closing and right after, during our walk through, we noticed so many issues. The quality of materials and the workmanship is so beyond poor. All our window and staircase /rail moulding/trims are poorly finished with visible discrepancies (patched up and uneven caulking on most edges). I have to say, there is no area in our new build that you can turn to and not see a very poor unsupervised job done (chipped off wood on cabinets, paint stains on appliances ...

The sales team did their part and got me everything I wanted in the new home, but that’s where the positive experience ended. After closing expect little support, your loan to be sold, and for them to pull your credit again. My loan was transferred to M&T within two month and when Pulte no longer serviced my loan they pulled my credit again. When I asked them about it, they said it was for an audit and I gave them the authorization during closing. This was a lie. They could not provide proof of the document that authorized the pull and after three weeks, no one has an idea who or ...

Does Not Do What They Say They Will

Pulte Homes does not do what they say they will. Sales Staff (Mark) is dishonest and not transparent about lot release dates, pricing or timelines. The Construction Staff (Robbie) deflects and places the blame on the sub-contractors. Which is silly considering Pulte Homes is ultimately responsible and pays the sub-contractors. They have not been responsive to the 12 month warranty items. Customer Care Team (Mariah) does not respond to service requests. If you have any other option choose them. You will not get what you pay for from Pulte Homes and their customer service is atrocious.
