Very confusing process

  • Sekhar R.

Different departments had different versions of what is included and what are upgrades. Very confusing buying process especially for new buyers. Found very basic issues (like creaking bathroom floors, kitchen hardwood floors, loose lighting fixtures , electrical wiring issues - dryer wouldnt turn on due to faulty and dangerous wiring mistake) - these should have been taken care of during the quality reviews / inspections.

Overall not satisfactory experience due to followings surprises: 1. Congested townhomes. 2. Not enough guest parkings available. 3. Garage driveway is the smallest one can imagine, you cannot even park a single car on it. 4. Roads are not wider enough to do parallel parking. 5. You can hear music sound from neighbor house. 6. Many houses doesn't have the garbage pickup from the front / back side of the house.

We first looked at Pulte homes in early June with a wonderful individual, she had a great personality, was open, honest and a pleasure to work with. Almost immediately after signing our contract, she was moved to a different location and a new representative was going to take over. All seemed fine until the emails responses were delayed, the responses were not detailed and the ask of a simple question seemed like too much work. Once we started visiting the sites, we were OK with the process, things were going as scheduled. Then in November a change order came in that we owed 5k for a ...

I base this review only off of our personal experience. We have talked to other people who had a positive experience with their homes. We however have not. Things that we have experienced: Construction delays (installed the wrong color of cabinets, smoke detectors did not work properly and were not identified until the day of closing), poor build quality for what we paid for the house, problems that were identified well ahead of closing that were not fixed and still haven't been fixed after two months of living in our home. Hopefully soon on that though though. After living in our home for ...

Pulte Homes - If I could give no start for the workmanship, I would.

If I could give no start for the workmanship, I would. The workmanship needs to a major improvement. Compare to other national builder, Pulte has proven to be fallen short. We have experience with another builder which was great experience from the moment we made the purchase of the lot, to the workmanship and the details of the aesthetics. These little details are very important to home buyers. They are important to us, yet, we have found so many flaws , which some are dangerous (such as carpet staples coming out and poking anyone who walks on carpet) in our home that create this ...

Entire Glenmore community division was mis managed. Too many open builds, too many management changes. Poor oversight and quality control of trades and the work performed. Good ole boys club on how the builds get completed. Pulte often believes homeowner has no experience with what they are referring too in comments, issues, mfg., quality or trade work. Final closure date moved 4 times and extended another 5 months. Sales staff is lacking accurate info, dismissive, and non-forth coming with information. Communication was extremely poor. With the reputation of Pulte we expected a much better experience. Throughout the build process there was minimal communication and when there was, the information was not correct or trustworthy. Our home was delayed several times due to "Covid" when really the builder had issues they were not upfront about. Our home was broken into the day before closing, which delayed us 3 more days. Pulte has no security onsite or care that this happened (we were not the first home with this issue in the neighborhood nor will we be the last I'm sure). I feel this build was rushed to get finished before the end of the year even though we purchased in May. Build didn’t get started for a couple of months and even though we purchased prior to 2 other lots (weeks/month) ours was the last one to get started. Multiple issues left unresolved and found poor displays of workmanship while living in the house. Some examples are: -various/different hardware used for hooks on boot bench (I don’t understand why it wasn’t uniform) -2 hooks from boot bench had stripped screws and fell off within the first month - a handle on a cabinet drawer broke in ...

We were promised that the house will be ready on the 19th Dec. I took all week vacation. At 1pm i got a call that i wont get the keys that day. 2 hrs before i was supposed to move in. During the inspection we found so many defects and the house wasnt even ready. We are still having issues with so many stuff. Loud noise when the furnace stops running. We asked John (Manager) and his respond was, it is normal. Jason (QA Manager) is very helpful and trying to find the problem. There workmanship is very poor.

Pulte Homes - The complete home buying process was horrible, a train wreck,

The complete home buying process was horrible, a train wreck, by far the worst of any new build house I have purchased. It took 16 months from the time we signed our contract until closing with over 10 months being the build. The drawings for the house didn’t align with our options in our contract and then the house wasn’t even built to the drawings causing massive delays due to rework including redoing basement concrete to add plumbing that was never installed for the entire house and redoing framing in the basement and first floor. The house being built incorrectly wasn’t even caught by our ...

This was the worst experience I have ever had in my life. From the beginning to the very end, the entire process was horrible. The lack of communication was the worst experience I have ever seen. I have been in the home now since the middle of September and I'm still waiting on final touch ups throughout the home. I would never recommend this company to any family or friends. Very unfortunate because the location are great. Ps. If you can get the contractors to follow through with the finishing touch ups that would be great.

Toured a home under construction in Dec 2019, had about two months of work left, signed contract. Failed inspections delayed, then rain weather delayed by a month, then pandemic delayed. Repeatedly asked for a detailed schedule of work, never received. All of these on their own is understandable, but getting to explanations behind delays didn't come until I pressed hard on leadership in May. They have extremely bad workmanship. The number of problems we found in the first month of ownership is just ridiculous. The fireplace did not work, clearly it was not even tested by the builder. The stove has issues with multiple burners not turning on promptly. The landscaping was not evened out so pools of water were building in the yard. There are huge gaps under the baseboards but we were told it is "within tolerances." We have reported all of these and more issues to warranty and nothing has been fixed. STOP! If you still can and do your research by reading the reviews across the country and the lawsuits filed. After putting down earnest and becoming contractually obligated attitudes change. READ the contract before signing and you'll find EVERYTHING is in Pultes interest. Dont assume their tactics to incentivize by using their mortgage company is the best either.
