The whole team was amazing from start to finish. The project superintendent has been great always on top of any issues and getting them handled.

Rob was great. Very responsive to our questions and you can tell he cared about doing a good job. Home buying process was smooth and everyone involved at Richmond was easy to work with.

What should be a very nice home is actually somewhat of a nightmare. The home looked great initially, but after moving in and taking a closer look, I found so many problems, I hardly know where to begin: horrible stucco finish work, many ungrounded light fixtures, scratched appliances, front door not hung plumb, damaged grout, no screen door handle, no product shelf in the primary shower, I could go on and on.

Review I just submitted for Richmond: I am overall happy with my home. I love it. It’s very comfortable. Sales person Glenda was amazing! I am disappointed in the workmanship of a few items. Some things I know can and will be fixed but there are a few big things. One, the drywall in the home is terrible. You can see bowed areas in the hallway now that we have painted. The drywall is literally cracking at the seams in other places, so you can see clear seams and cracking of the walls coming through. Now this will need to be fixed and I am told my paint will not be fixed. The builder paint which is of course a different color than my newly painted interior will be fixed, but not my paint. I’m not happy about the inconvenience this will cause of course but now the expense of repainting due to nothing I have done wrong is unacceptable. The second big thing is that apparently my home is missing some AC connectors and returns in a few rooms making one room that my daughter lives in very warm. We’re waiting for the parts for that and hopefully there will not be damage. So those two major things that will require literal cutting into the home are very unfortunate and disappointing to say the least. It would be appreciated if at least Richmond could not just dismiss my request to fix my paint after the drywall gets cut into. At this point, I’m on the fence about whether I would recommend Richmond. I suppose it depends on how these two huge items are handled. ... More

If you do not use Richmond to buy a home, shame on you. I would rather be homeless, than live in a home that is not Richmond. Do yourself a favor and consult Richmond for your home buying needs.

Great experience working with Richmond American. They are professionals and thoughtful in your home buying experience.

Richmond only cares about money, not the product or resident. They use contractors that care about getting paid and will not stand behind their work. Contractors do not properly install items so when issues come up, they will blame you that you messed it up and force you to pay money to fix it. Also, site supervisors will find ways to get out of stuff (ie: quick walkthroughs so you miss something and then claim you caused the issue and not their crews). If you ask to get any work resolved, it takes forever to get someone on site.

It was great process. This was my very first Richmond home purchase. This was one of my best home purchases ever.

We were looking for a house expecting to buy a used home and planning on fixing it up. We come to look at a new build by Richmond just to see what it was all about. We weee deeply impressed not only with the home but the staff was super helpful and very responsive. Very happy with choice

From the moment we walked into the office with our agent, to the time we closed our loan, everyone was great and very helpful. The day we closed we did our final walk through and learned about all the details of our appliances, tankless water heater, air conditioner, possible drip from extra condensation, to where wires are in the garage and where not to put things on the walls, everything has been Great! Never thought we would buy a new home, yet here we are.

Dave has his hands full as the superintendent. He is on top of issues as well as his assistant Chris. The main issue is poor quality work done by contractors who obviously don't care about their work product. It seems they rush to get the homes put together and cut out quality over quantity. The employees of Richmond are always helpful and care about their service. I would not buy a new home again if this is the acceptable practice for contractors.

So it wouldn't post my first review probably because it was truthful but not favorable. I'll make this one short as it probably won't get posted either. 1, Do not believe anything from the assistant supervisor as it won't happen. If it comes from the actual supervisor you have a chance. 2, Don't let them blow off anything for the next deadline because that will never end. The first walk discoveries pushed till the final walk pushed to the 30 day and then pushed again and again. Two + months later and things that should have be handled before closing are still pending. All things could have been handled if there was a quality review once the build was completed but that never happened and it shows. ... More

Overall, we enjoy our new home and development. It has become obvious that cost cuts and trades that don't take pride in their work was evident. The walls on both sides of our property needed to be higher. Everyone could see into each other's backyard,

we had a good buying experience from the beginning to the end

We just closed on our home in Feb. 25, and it really was a better process than expected. The house is very nice and we’re really happy with it, but it’s still just a spec home. Nothing really great about it, but it is a nice home. I would buy from Richmond all over again, but just for the staff that we worked with. Ricardo & the sales staff were so helpful and accommodating even after the closing. Reon and the construction staff did an amazing job and kept on contractors for the few repairs there were. It’s almost been a month since we closed and I count these people as friends. Overall great experience with Richmond American. From the sales associates to the builders, everyone we met with before close was responsive and helpful to meet our needs.

Great experience with Richmond Homes compared to our previous experience with another large builder. Ricardo and Rob were excellent with communicating, and Rob was great to work with and takes pride in his role and ensuring quality homes are built. The only aspect of the experience that wasn’t excellent is around some of the decision making at Richmond corporate (or whoever the decision makers are for designing model homes in the communities); in false advertisement within the models. I understand that all builders put items in the models that are not offered in homes, but this is a deceptive practice. If Richmond didn’t participate in this norm it would further elevate, differentiate, and build trust in Richmond from other builders. When trying to get a resolution around an item, we were met with an unfortunate response and attitude from Ava, and Daniel didn’t even return our calls to support. Fortunately, Ricardo, Rob, and Reon were great to ensure a positive experience- They are great at their roles and the reason we are satisfied with Richmond. ... More
