It was pleasure working with everyone at Richmond American Homes. Everyone was helpful, communication was easy and we did not feel pressured like we did at other new developments. Julio was outstanding! He was patient, informative, checked in with us regularly and provided guidance along the way. We immediately made a decision because of the way we were treated and the professionalism of those we worked with.

The first initial steps of home buying was smooth. The loan officer and sales reps were helpful throughout the way. not until i moved into the home issues starting popping up and when noticed and reported to warranty it took time to be resolved. The warranty supervisor did what was needed but the contractors have been irresponsible. 1. Shower towel bar missing 2. shower drain plate loose 3. Kitchen cabinet drawer falling off the track 4. Bathroom cabinet door falls off the hinge 5. Door bell gets stuck at the end with a buzzing sound 6. Backyard sliding door falls off the track 7. Bathroom tile chipped 8, Bedroom carpet the tucker that poke when stepped on. Some of the above reported and some not reported by me, as the ones reported never got addressed for example the door bell that rings and gets stuck with a buzzing sound at the end of the ring. i had to report it 3 times over a month under the app until the rep from the contractor calls and says they cannot accommodate my request since they don't work those hours. Another one that i can mention is the big screen sliding door to the backyard that slides off the track every time you open it. Should all of these not have been tested before handing the house to the owner? Contractor employees ignored what needed to be fixed. Shame on such contractors that do a lawsy job and cant rectify issues when needed. ... More

I really enjoyed working with the sales professionals at Richmond American Homes. Things went smoothly and timely. I really am enjoying our new home.

Overall I had a good experience buying my first home. My sales rep was amazing. She reassured me the entire time, didn’t pressure me, and overall made me feel like I could do it. Buying your first home can be so nerve wracking but she was such a calming presence and made it a lot smoother. The loan officer I worked with was awesome too. She was very responsive and laid everything out clearly. I had a great experience with the title company as well. Very responsive, answered all my questions and signing went very smoothly. Where the issues started happening was with the loan processor (or back end person) and the insurance officer. They didn’t respond to my questions in a timely manner and left me in the dark around timing which was very frustrating. The insurance broker did not include all of the discounts in my quote and I ended up having to pay more upfront. Even though I told him over 3 times to review the documents, which he did not in time for closing. For someone who’s going through the process for the first time, I would expect clear answers and timing. Luckily everyone else made up for it. ... More

Have to say the homes are far nicer then any other developer ive seen. I've been looking for a new home that checks off many if not all the boxes for me. Richmond American was the only one even close.

Everyone was so helpful, from the sales team to the loan officers. Always had time to answer all our questions. They always answered on time and helped us if anything was needed. The walk through of the home was easy and smooth. Home care specialist always responds he is very nice. He took care of submitting any minor problems we found in the home, that needed fixing.

Where do I start? On my escrow closing day, I got 4 remote controls for 2 garages. 2 worked and the other 2 did not work. I immediately notified the sales office, who assured me someone would be by to rectify that issue. Over a month later, still have not seen anyone at my door to rectify the issue. This needs to be remedied. During the final walk through I noticed 30-40 scuff marks on the primary bath shower floor. Gustavo assured me it was part of the pattern. I have the design book, there are no black marks in the primary shower tile. This needs to be remedied. Why put a tankless water heater in a 2800+ sq ft house that doesn't have a recirculating pump? No hot water on the one side of the house. I had to replace it for $2000 so that I could get hot water in my kitchen and the multi-gen suite. The top drawer in the primary bath has to be pulled out with a lot of force. It also does not slow-close like all the other drawers in the house. This needs to be remedied. The top row of tile in the primary bath has a broken tile. This needs to be remedied. Multiple bathroom faucets are loose and move around a lot. This needs to be remedied. The front yard landscaping was crap from the start. Still is. I will have to pay to have that fixed. The toilets are cheap. I will be replacing them (3 of them). The "free" washer and dryer may have been GE, but they were the bottom of the barrel for sure. I had to replace them. The garbage disposal had screws and paint in it when we did the final walk through. While my plumber was installing a loop for the circulating pump, water began to leak from the garbage disposal. The upper ring was not secured on the garbage disposal. The electricity in the kitchen and multi-gen suite have tripped off several times. I get bit (by electricity) multiple times a day in the house. There is a ground/neutral issue in this house and when my house burns down, I will hold Richmond American Homes responsible. The driveway lip is cracked and broken. Gustavo told me to put on a request to have it fixed. This is what I have found in just 35 days. I cannot imagine what waits for me going forward. Your sales person was your typical sales person, very nice and friendly in the beginning till I signed on the dotted line. To this date, it does not give me updates on issues happening with services. An example is your shoulder company went bankrupt, she never bothered to contact me to let me know and has been dismissive whenever I have called with questions or issues. Your loan officer pretty much the same as your sales person was not responsive to questions. The manager had to get involved and I was not impressed with the speediness, the loan rate, and communication. Your homeowners insurance guy, same as the previous two. Once he was unable to obtain homeowners insurance for the property, he pretty much just washed his hands and gave me a referral to another company who might be able to help me. I have not been happy or impressed with Richmond American homes. I would never recommend you as a builder to any family or friends. ... More

Very disappointed with the construction of our home. Absolutely no quality control during the construction process.

Flodd Zone Where to even begin...I found out about flood insurance by the finance team that called me to keep me on pace for closing on the home. I was shocked and frustrated that we were a few weeks into the procedure and just finding out about flood zone and insurance required. I vented my frustration over the phone and they asked me. "Have you spoken to your sales associate? They should be able to tell you all of this." When I asked Jay he had no information on it. He just would tell me to sign the emails as they come through. I had to call several other people who work in Richmond to get the answers I needed. Solar I kept getting emails from solar company asking about my experience and satisfaction with their product and company but didn't even own the house yet. When I emailed them Oct 14th asking when I could talk to someone about making sure it was purchased and not leased I was informed that they were "in between establish credit and lease processes" and someone would contact me "later". I asked Holly Frost who was handling our mortgage loan to make sure she had us down for a purchase. I also asked her about the solar itself and she also asked, "Have you spoken to your sales associate?" Again i tried to talk to Jay about it but not helpful. Now on December 3rd I get an email from the solar team stating they have me down for a lease not a purchase. Home Insurance As soon as we started the paperwork for purchase of the home i went and contacted an insurance agent and submitted details on the home to get insurance as soon as possible. Two weeks later I start receiving emails from someone that claims to work with Richmond to help me with insurance. I responded that I didn't need help as I had already done the legwork and was good on insurance now. They responded, " I advise you reach out to your sales associate, because you are taking incentives for closing from Richmond you are required to use me for insurance." Everyone working in richmond that I communicated with made it seem as though Jay would have the answers but Jay did not disclose any of these things to me and my mental and physical health both began to deteriorate while I was still driving to San diego for my job. I have been through chemotherapy for cancer in 2022 for 6 months and that was easier to do than this process at richmond. ... More

Richmond staff/agent are very helpful in guiding us purchasing our first home. They make you feel comfortable and less pressured. Suzzane is wonderful.

It’s been a great experience! Very well built, quality home. The only thing I would request is options to certain upgrades such as linen closet cabinets, upgraded paint, patio cover and landscaping in the rear of the home .

We love our new home. Just a couple of things we didn’t like but not enough to sway us or consider negative. Very responsive to issues in the first 30 days . Overall great experience.
