When we first started looking at the new Westridge homes, we were greeted and treated with excellence in customer service from Abby at the sales office, it continued with HomeAmerican loan officer Shawna who guided us thru the process with ease, Steven at the home site was extremely helpful and completed the walk thru before we moved in and repaired any small items. Recently Madison went thru the 30-day walk thru, to again repairing any items that came up after a month of living in the home. I really love the home itself, but getting issues identified during inspection addressed has been a real pain. The process feels slow and frustrating, and it takes way too much follow-up to get things resolved. The house is great, but I wish the post-inspection support was smoother, more responsive and reliable.

We love the neighborhood and most aspects of the house. The employees have been top notch. The location is good and the spacing between the houses is nice and that is what enticed us to purchase. The overall quality is not great. Its obvious Richmond is mainly concerned about low costs by using cheap supplies and not finishing key rooms like the laundry room. The cement in the basement is obviously not level and you can feel it even under the carpet and pad. Speaking with neighbors they experience the same issue. Experience was fantastic. Everyone involved was on top of their game. Home buying process was fast and smooth. Any minor issues that have come up since moving in have been addressed in a timely and efficient manner. And this is only the beginning, there is so much help that Richmond American offers for the first year. Would definitely buy another Richmond American Home

I was told my house isn’t worth the asking price and it could appraise for less. It did not. They used this as a sales tactic to convince me to buy at an inflated price. They offer incentives but it’s a far stretch to get them to utilize all of them. Tried negotiating with them for weeks and ultimately gave in to them because we were tired of their games. We enjoy our new home and love the view. The walkthrough, purchasing, and handoff process went great until they tell you the things you need to do before you can move into the house. Beware that you need to seal the grout, fill the joints in the garage floor, and run a new sprinkler control wire so that we can add zones for the back yard.

From my experience there were many issues with buying a home from Richmond. I feel I got ripped off over and over again. My dad bought a home from Taylor Morrison and I can tell the difference in the quality of the his home and he had overall a better experience. If I wasn’t locked in I wouldn’t have bought this home from Richmond. Never again

1. Poor Workmanship From day one, the home showed signs of subpar construction—sloppy finishes, sloppy installations, and corners that clearly prioritized speed over quality. 2. AC Broke Within Three Months Our central air conditioning failed just three months after move-in. With 109 deg temp inside home, we had to stay I hotel before it was fixed. 3. Front door lock broke in two months. It was replaced after a month. 4. Cockroaches Emerging from the Sewer Then came the worst: cockroaches crawling up through the drains. Overall I really love my house and I would provide a mostly positive review for Richmond American Homes. The sales folks and financing team really made the process easy as a first time homebuyer and I think I got a good price and deal on my house. The house did not have window blinds and did not have a screened in back pation, but after I insisted to have that installed prior to purchasing the home the sales staff agreed, which saved me the time and money of installing those myself. The post purchase process has been good but I was a bit let down after I inquired about horrible weed ...

Moving from CA to AZ was not an easy decision, very Nice Sales person Janna made little bit easier, got a beautiful house in Nice location. everything was smooth, little bit of missing quality issues like water leak, but they fixed it very fast in few mins after calling.. warranty person Melissa also very nice and quick response. Chris was only Richmond employee who we could count on and he even gave us faulty warranty information Richmond pushed for closing in two weeks and didn’t have the house issuesready at closing until three weeks after, causing numerous 5 hr one way drives for us to let workers in to fix things we were told would be fixed before closing.

Richmond Homes made what should have been an exciting milestone into a frustrating ordeal. We experienced misleading information during the sales process, lack of quality workmanship, and poor communication throughout. Now, 35 days after closing, we are still waiting on promised items. Overall, the lack of accountability and professionalism overshadowed the excitement of buying our new home. I would not purchase from them again.

It was an easy process using their lender. One thing I would say to someone buying with appliances included, make sure you know what appliances your getting. It will not be what's in the model. This was a problem for me because they provided the cheapest appliances they could. Some of the items pointed out during walk thru, they seemed to always have an answer why it can't be done. Some of the smaller things they said would be done was not. Put everything in writing even things they say they provide, like more barkdust, cleaning, and pressure washing before move in.

Dealing with the lending team was terrible. Pre approved my loan and then canceled it a week before closing had to rush to find a lender and get everything done because I was selling my house and couldn’t back out of sale of my house.

Superintendent needs to inspect each phase of construction. Not wait for homeowners to have issue or call out as warranty. Nice home design although would think when spending this kind of money that finishes and workmanship would be complete. Have to take lots of time off work for warranty issues. Consider cost of time off to be available for appointments to correct issues that the superintendent could have completed during build. I do like the home but upset with the stress it has caused do to being tm treated as buying the home is a favor

My new home buying experience began with excitement. Things began to go wrong and the responses were addressed slowly or not at all: frame to garage door, electrical issues, closet bar holding clothes loosening and the insulation between the foundation of the house and the walls not completely sealed when the doggie door was installed. I’m currently awaiting for the compressor on the air conditioner to be replaced, the unit is completely out of service, which was really loud to begin with, but it was working.

Uses cheapest contractors available, won't stand behind work

Richmond only cares about money, not the product or resident. They use contractors that care about getting paid and will not stand behind their work. Contractors do not properly install items so when issues come up, they will blame you that you messed it up and force you to pay money to fix it. Also, site supervisors will find ways to get out of stuff (ie: quick walkthroughs so you miss something and then claim you caused the issue and not their crews). If you ask to get any work resolved, it takes forever to get someone on site.
