From start to finish, buying with Richmond was fast, easy, and full of friendly people! I would recommend this company to anyone! Inna was amazing!!

The sales dept was fabulous. Tanner did a fabulous job. The mortgage qualification was horrendous. Major overhaul needed only to find out mtg was sold before I made one payment. Had a keak behind master sink over 30 days ago. Today the counter top and medicine cabinet sit in my bedroom on the floor. Paul tried to schedule the carpet to be replaced before the counter top and medicine cabinet was reinstalled. Have not heard from him in 10 days and I won’t let carpet be installed until these are done. Who wants brand new carpet trampled on by plumbers, cabinet people. Very poor communication when there is an emergency. It’s almost like you don’t care about your customers once the ink is dry. Need much better communication ... More

Homes that are cheaply built, customer service thats deplorable, questionable ethics, company as a whole operating in “the grey”. Hire a third party inspector BEFORE purchasing! We were expierencing so many issues that we had to bring in a professional to hep us navigate the myrid nof issues. After receiving a 37 page inspection report on our “newly built” home here are some of the larger issues we are having witht he home that directly effect the value of our investment. 1. Primary Attic: sections of roof sheathing were installed without the radiant barrier (the attic should be fully radiant insulated). 2. Roof & Roof Overhangs: Roofing tiles are falling off and there are several damages to the roof that will ultimately compromise the structure of our house over time. 3. Garage: Slab in concrete is already presenting with cracks less than a month after closing. 4. Living Room Ceiling: The ceiling is presenting with waves less than a month after closing. 5. Front, Back, Interior Doors and Closet Doors: Split in casings, door hung unlevel, improperly closing. ALL doors need to be fixed. 6. Cabinetry: From the kitchen to the bathrooms, there are damages present. Drill holes. Looks as though they installed “reject” cabinets in our house. 7. Fire Suppression System: System is compromised due to poor installation. The sprinklers were not installed flush to the ceiling, dust and dirt accumulation will occur over the years. Trades people sent to home are bush-league! Unprofessional, and cause more damage when they attempt to fix something. For instance, the painters used acetone on our carpets and showers to remove paint overspray. Needless to say, carpets and showers are damaged beyond repair. The list goes on… it's been a huge time suck having to deal with the company to fix said issues through their Warranty Request process, which is absolutely frustrating. I wish we would have hired a home inspector from the get, before closing. Do yourself a favor and conduct your due diligence thoroughly! ... More

Dave has his hands full as the superintendent. He is on top of issues as well as his assistant Chris. The main issue is poor quality work done by contractors who obviously don't care about their work product. It seems they rush to get the homes put together and cut out quality over quantity. The employees of Richmond are always helpful and care about their service. I would not buy a new home again if this is the acceptable practice for contractors.

Purchasing/ management side was fantastic! The only downside is the builders. When I pointed things out to fix, the builders would cut corners ie. Asked for large rocks & trash removed from crawlspace. Later found out they moved it into a dark corner and put plastic on it to hide the issue... be sure to check EVERYTHING you point out to fix because if they think they'll get away with it they'll try to... their manager was good though I blame the workers.

So it wouldn't post my first review probably because it was truthful but not favorable. I'll make this one short as it probably won't get posted either. 1, Do not believe anything from the assistant supervisor as it won't happen. If it comes from the actual supervisor you have a chance. 2, Don't let them blow off anything for the next deadline because that will never end. The first walk discoveries pushed till the final walk pushed to the 30 day and then pushed again and again. Two + months later and things that should have be handled before closing are still pending. All things could have been handled if there was a quality review once the build was completed but that never happened and it shows. ... More

Everything was completed as per the timeline presented. Any issues that popped up Brandee hopped right into and assured it would be taken care of.

They were good on what they do and help greatly with all concerns. Will definitely recommend and used them again.

From beginning to end our home buying experience was great. From sales team to working directly with builder was without issues.

Poor landscaper contractor directions, low quality paint issues, no caulk around the bathroom trim. Construction Superintendent only concerned about his timelines and needs. He made commitments and failed to initiate contractors or work orders to complete them. Sales team was great to work with locally. Financial threats were made of $322.00 accumulated daily because the VA inspector would not release a positive inspection. VA required egress, stairs and landing from deck for a disabled veteran. Richmond finally put on three stairs and two papers to meet the requirements.

Both of the sales associates were a pleasure to work with; very attentive, knowledgable snd accessible. All questions/concerns were answered and Shandara was proactive in her communication. Even the builders were available for questions and were very pleasant. These homes are great quality and we love everything about them. Can’t wait to make memories here!

Buying Richmond has been a huge pain. Their own mortgage company was awful to work with. The build quality is super low and they haven’t fixed the things they said they would fix when we closed. Can’t even get them to call me back. I will avoid Richmond like the plague in the future

The roof line looks like it has speed bumps in it. Speaking to neighbors I learned everyone has issues. The walk thru was a joke. Andrew was like, "We aren't fixing that." All houses have been sold and the retaining ponds are horrible. Full of trash and debris. My house humidity runs around 75-85% due to fresh air return not working. I've been in my home 30 days and had to clean out my gutters. They were clogged solid on inspection and they told us that it wasn't their problem. They were not cleaning them. The warranty people told me that they would take care of it but never showed up. It's a beautiful home. But build quality isn't very good. ... More

Home buying process was ok. Nothing exemplary. I had to do a lot of the “driving” to get things moving. Limited communication on resolution of issues after closing. Highly recommend you force them to fix it all before you close. They seem to have disappeared.
