Concern Regarding Wall Issue in My New Richmond Home I specifically chose to purchase another Richmond home because of the exceptional experience I had with your team when I bought my first Richmond property. While the new home is stunning, I have significant concerns about the quality of construction in one area. The wall above the fireplace is visibly uneven, something that was not immediately noticeable during the walkthrough but became apparent on the first day we hung a television. Being informed that this issue is not covered under warranty—just two days after closing—is both surprising and disappointing. I have always associated Richmond with superior quality and service, which is why this experience feels especially disheartening. Home buying experience was very quick and easy for the most part. Quickly of home seems like a quick done job with cheap materials. Not attention to detail.

The house was purchased under the assumption that it is new and will be covered under warranty if something is not right. That was a big mistake. The house was not ready on the date of closing with plenty of outstanding defects identified during pre-closing walk-through. The builder was not willing to fix them all before closing and forced us into closing or lose the deposit. The construction crew were working on the house even on the revised closing date. Then the repairs just stopped after closing and we have to chase down the superintendent constantly to work on the promised repairs. A lot of defects were still not fixed and now we deal with warranty team and it tried to exclude many defects that have been identified. I had a great experience with their Agent, Megan, on purchasing a new home from Richmond. She was very professional, resourceful and transparent throughout the entire buying process. The home is beautiful and reasonably priced for all the upgrades in the final price tag. When comparing all the Builders & amenities in the neighborhood, Richmond Homes definitely stuck out to be the better option, by far. No disappointments!

Purchasing was fine. The readiness for walk-through was an issue twice. The first time I verified on Friday that the house would be ready Monday. I was traveling from 10 hours away to get there. When I arrived they were framing the driveway to be poured and there was still work to be done inside. The second time it was still not totally done and we discovered that where there was supposed to be an 8 ft french door per the JIO, there was a 5 ft empty opening. I closed anyway thinking it would be handled quickly. I have been out once since then and it wasn't done yet. At that time I also discovered with the help of Richmond staff that there was no modem in the utility closet to set up internet. I plan to be there the week of Thanksgiving for most of the move-in and I have no idea if it's been resolved yet. ... More

He was evasive, loud mouthed, disrespectful to me on multiple occasions. I do not want him on my property. I note Paul has a visual deficit, he 'cannot see ' the simple and obvious items that need repair and attention. Sales by Jill was fabulous. Very kind , knowledgeable and professional, attentive to all my new home questions. Paul is a down size to Richmond homes. He is not welcome on my property after his aggressive behavior. The home is wonderful. We had a great experience purchasing the home. The only thing we have had trouble with is responsiveness to issues, but it is in the process of getting fixed.

Once we closed, the sales person was non responsive. We have questions and have sent emails, with no response. The drawers are very shallow and don't hold any of size

This experience has been an absolute nightmare. Two days after move in, our downstairs bathroom flooding raw sewage. A month and a half later we’re STILL waiting for fixes! The super rarely answers the phone, and if he does, he has no idea the deadlines of material. The installers show up unannounced WITHOUT supplies because they thought Richmond was supplying everything. It’s a cluster mess and miscommunication around every corner.

The process from beginning to end was great. Sales office was very communicative and upfront. The fixes requested were done in a timely and effective manner..

Our experience with Richmond American Homes has been disappointing from the beginning. Upon purchasing our home, we discovered several issues that needed attention. Unfortunately, the response time to address these concerns was unacceptably slow, and commitments to fix them were often delayed or missed entirely. It took countless follow-up conversations to see any progress. Contractors claimed they attempted repairs but couldn’t access the home, despite no arrangements for entry being made. As a result, many fixes only occurred after we moved in, forcing us to repeatedly rearrange furniture just to accommodate these overdue repairs. Even now, some issues remain unresolved, highlighting a lack of focus on quality and customer satisfaction. Richmond American Homes seems more focused on completing sales than delivering well-built, problem-free homes. Given this experience, we foresee relocating in a few years. I would urge anyone considering Richmond American to be cautious and prepared for ongoing follow-ups if issues arise. ... More

Lot of house for the price, we love the open concept with the kitchen, dining/sunroom and family room and the brightness of the Daniel floor plan. The team of Slyvia and Josh were great to work with

The construction supervisor did not handle the issues appropriately or in a timely manner. Full of excuses and knows the issues but showed little care to resolve appropriately.
