While we love our home and the build quality is beautiful, our overall experience with Richmond American Homes was disappointing. The home is okay. There could have been a lot more smarts used when planning the backyards. Why are the homes backyards sloped?? Well because they didn’t want to make the effort to actually level out the backyards & make the homeowners pay extra to have retaining walls built. The builder definitely cut corners on materials and craftsmanship when making these homes.

Unfortunately for us our experience with Richmond Homes has been bad from the beginning. From the lending process to moving in and finding over 40 to do items in our home that still 30+ days after move in are still not being addressed. Everyone has dropped the ball and seems not to care at all. I would not recommend this builder because they do not care about the workmanship of their homes.

I’ve lived here 6 weeks: The garage door remotes do not work to open the doors, I tripped a breaker using the garbage disposal. The AC does not cool my room. Plants and trees are dying in front yard that was on drip system, I have not received the screen door for my bedrooms slider glass door( it’s very stuffy in my room without AC and no screen on the door. The refrigerator I replaced, and the dishwasher due to inability to work properly. I am begging for help since I live by myself. Extremely disappointed with the lack of communication, transparency and quality of work throughout pre/post home buying. Still waiting for several issues to get fixed that funny enough were identified by the super intendent. They are taking there sweet time and there is no sense of urgency. I understand many homes has several issues and I'm not the only one but that's where communication comes into place. Definitely feel like if I don't frequently stay in touch nothing will be done. Going on 2 months now trying to fix things prior to close. May need to file some ROC complaints.

As a real estate agent I’ve had many interactions with RAH. As a buyer I was disappointed RAH has stopped allowing buyers to select their upgrades and designs. This made our purchase a bit hard and honestly more expensive on the back end in order for us to get what we wanted. Do better Richmond. For the people giving you business. Your design teams don’t know it all and at times make errors and bad decisions ( like not putting windows on a wall with a MOUNTAIN VIEW). It’s not that important to build homes as fast as you can. THE BAD. Our house was filthy after closing. Workers used our bathrooms, broking promises by builder in regard to our driveway. Paint spots on carpet in every room. The tile floor had paint specks and excess grout and some type of adhesive spots. Bathroom counter top had silicone smudges all over them. THE GOOD, The neighborhood and residents are great. My case went from first lot flooded and they did not tell me anything at all when I noticed i had to request a lot change they have very bad communication for the closing the house has a lot of details to be fixed thru warranty request and still yet had not contact me after the superintendent told me he would take care of it he later backup and ask for a warranty request lack of compromise just wont recommend them at all really let them be your last option

The quality of my new richmond america home is very disappointing. There were many, many issues during my initial walk thru before closing. Some major as the oven would not work without tripping the breaker. To who it may concern. We were never offered coach lighting now we see homes with them, we ask for some outlets to moves up for easier TV viewing (Pre Dry-wall) and could not get a response on the additional moving of the outlets. We would've paid for the modification if we needed too. Lots of builder grade materials and now the homes are lower in price with more upgrades. Just not a very professional experience at all for the wife and I!!

The salesperson and loan officer are very helpful and responsive. Catered to me every step of the way. The only thing that got me were the placements of the thermostat upstairs and downstairs. Both are only about 42 inches from the floor. Way too low for me. I’m 5’8 and my son is over 6 feet. I am a disabled veteran and I can’t see LCD screens unless they are straight in front of me.
