Sales person is very nice and accomodating

Owning a brand new house was a dream come true. Thanks to Richmond American Homes for a speedy work of building my house and a smooth sailing processing of the stressful paper works. I would like to give a shout out to Ms. Melanie for her patience and guidance during the entire process. From the construction workers to the office staff--thank you for the amazing job, I got my newly build state of the art Agate house.

During building process, there is no option to change some minor improvements. For example, I like to change the toggle switch to flat one, change the non efficient light bulb etc. The is only one water outlet in entire hose for outdoor. I would like to have one in backyard but it was not happened.

Was not given an estimate of closing costs for a cash sale. Was very surprised to learn a few days before closing that the costs were $7000.

The builder did a good job on the essentials of the home, however they did not give attention to detail to a myriad of issues that are not covered by the 1-year warranty.

Overall great experience. A few issues with the quality of the build, however the home care specialist so far has been very responsive and extremely helpful with our home warranty repairs.

We love the floor plan. They were flexible with our requirements for closing. Has taken a couple of months to resolve all the build issues. None were overly major, but a lot of small things add up. There was also a disclosure issue surround the totally unnecessary HOA, whose existence and terms were not provided until after we closed.

Jim at sales was very friendly and answered all the questions we had during our purchase.Jose the field supervisor was very helpful during the building process,noteverything was perfect but the response team was responsive

Make sure Josh is your construction manager, he will take care of you and make sure your home is built correctly.

Linda was amazing throughout our process. We could have used more time of a second visit at the design studio as we felt rushed through that process. Over all things were great on the site. The walkthroughs were great, the only thing I would change is maybe more of them. Since the house took some time to complete this would have just kept us a bit more in the loop. After being in a month things look great. We have addressed a few issues with the month follow-up and will see how they are taken care of. It has been a great experience for us and would recommend.

Sales representative and Mortgage lender were excellent to deal with. House was already built. Cheap cabinetry, cheap appliances.

Georgine was great. Customer service was top notch. Kept me in the loop throughout the process. There was one issue but Luke and Georgine handled it. Richmond American Homes cares about their buyers and made sure I was happy.

From beginning to end, the Richmond American team have been attentive to detail and had the best communication with my husband and I during the home buying process. The sales agent, super intendant and home care specialist were always professional, personable and was always available to answer my questions.

We’re very happy in our new home and are pleased with the work put in to it. This was our first time building a home so we were learning along the way. Our biggest struggle was in the beginning. Our sales agent did not cash our check for the lot we wanted and was difficult to get answers from in a timely manor. About a week later, she responded by saying another couple had purchased that lot. We don’t understand how she wouldn’t have known that before we gave her a check for more then $20,000. We tried on another lot she advertised and wrote a new check. She came back to us later saying that lot was actually not up for sell yet so we had to find another lot… finally we landed on the one we own. I want to make it clear that they were apologetic and did not attempt to take advantage of the first checks we gave them. They were fair with our money. But it was very stressful not obtaining the lots we wanted, while also worrying about why checks weren’t being cashed. Once the house went under construction, we worked more directly with the builder and that was an overall better experience for us. There a few things in the home that aren’t perfect (squareness of drywall in some areas, etc) but for the most part the builder was willing to make the fixes we asked for before closing. ... More

We are please with our new Richmond house. The only complaints is we did not have the ability to select any options structural or otherwise. Also, although we knew upfront, the lot sizes for the most part are less than what we would prefer.

Need to set up a day to pick up garbage, recycling etc…Other than that it’s a promising young community where we hope for the best

We bought a spec home with a lot of imperfections including several bent and crooked walls (very obvious to see at first glance) sloppy overspray and cabinets all need adjusting. The home itself is beautiful but sloppy craftsmanship with the subs being utilized on the spec home. Customer service is doing their best to fix everything

Overall I really love my house and I would provide a mostly positive review for Richmond American Homes. The sales folks and financing team really made the process easy as a first time homebuyer and I think I got a good price and deal on my house. The house did not have window blinds and did not have a screened in back pation, but after I insisted to have that installed prior to purchasing the home the sales staff agreed, which saved me the time and money of installing those myself. The post purchase process has been good but I was a bit let down after I inquired about horrible weed growth in the grass, I was told during my closing walk thru that the lawn was treated for weeds and they will not be a problem, but after 1 month of purchase, the weeds are everywhere, when I called to ask for assistance in getting it treated properly like I was promised, they said it was my problem. So we love the house and the location. The floor plan is exactly what we have wanted for years and the community is quiet and will be great as we move into retirement. Material quality if very good although I marked down worksmanship because of the many sloppy minor errors made that had to be fixed. I've gone through several houses and honestly the subcontractors need to just care a little bit more and take a little more time. Overcutting holes in drywall, sloppy painting, messy work areas, breaking windows, etc. Just ongoing slopiness that ultimately wastes money. For trustworthiness, this is tied to responsiveness for me. There were several things that needed to be corrected from our final walkthrough and the onsite superintendent just didn't do anything with them. This led to him being replaced about a month later and now the updates are getting done pretty timely. I would have marked both lower, but the company is working to take care of the problem now. Also, the warranty claim process appears pretty unresponsive. We submitted one item and never got a follow up call on it and we have heard a similar complaint from another homeowner. That said, we figured out the problem and doubt we will have other issues based on the build quality. For value, they are good houses, but I would argue that they are priced at the high end of the market. Probably about $20k overpriced but we wanted the location and the floorplan so went ahead and bought knowing the long-term payoff would be good. ... More
