We love our home now that it is done. However, every builder has issues. Make sure you ask detailed questions, and don't expect everything in the model home to be included in the one you pick. One example is the closets, the model had nice shelving in all the closets. When we asked about it being included they said it would be "exactly like the model". they later stated that those closets are not an option and we had to pay to have them as a "custom change" Great floor plans, overall good quality, and a lot of value for the money you pay.

The staff was with us throughout the whole process. Everyone was great and helped us through every step.

I understand timing is everything. I was tired of living in a tiny apartment after I retired from the military. Why is it so hard to find an affordable house. Oh well, like the title implies, a good home at a tough time. There are areas of the house you can tell were rushed, the bath tub was scratched when it was installed, the frame doesn't line up near the entrance door, the ceiling was sagging in the master bedroom. You guys sold a $300 thousand dollar house for half a million dollars, at least you could have taken your time. Could have at least astro-turfed the backyard so it keeps the HOA off our backs. Stuffs expensive right now and needing to put in blinds, fans and a backyard takes a tole on any bank account. It is a good looking house, there are some things that could be better, but the relation house/price is totally worthy.

Suzanne was amazing!!! She was very helpful and knew all the information required. We used to come every other weekend to see the process since we were excited about the new house. I remember there was a weekend in which we couldn't come and she kindly sent us pictures (she noticed we didn't go on that weekend). The buying process was a little bumpy. We decided to used their lender and go through their people since I was told they all communicate with each other. At times I was overwhelmed because they kept asking me for things I had already submitted and it seemed they didn't communicate with each other at all. The sales agent Terri was the best! She helped me throughout the entire process. I was out of state and she called me almost everyday to give me updates, send pictures of the home, video called me to do a virtual tour and more. Zurich, the builders superintendent was also helpful. Any questions I had he answered and even after I purchased the home, he’s still assisting me with no problem.

Happy with the house purchase

Richmond did not stand behind their price incentive commitment, and their preferred lender was the worst I’ve ever worked with, however, the project manager/superintendent of the home build IS EXCEPTIONAL, and I would trust buying with this company again because he is where the rubber meets the road.

Sales person is very nice and accomodating

Overall a good experience, however I believe that due to Richmond trying to build too many homes as the same time that the attention to detail has been left behind. There where major issues on the day of closing that had to be corrected after moving in. All of the items have been completed but they should have been done on the day of close. If we had not needed a home to move into, it is possible that we would not have accepted the home the way that is was.

Owning a brand new house was a dream come true. Thanks to Richmond American Homes for a speedy work of building my house and a smooth sailing processing of the stressful paper works. I would like to give a shout out to Ms. Melanie for her patience and guidance during the entire process. From the construction workers to the office staff--thank you for the amazing job, I got my newly build state of the art Agate house.

I wished the Richmond American homes builders would put quality materials and closets in these new build homes. The builders put wire shelves in the closets and pantry, which is the cheapest way to go. Just build it quality and put it back in the price if you have to. Now, the new home owners are forced to hire a contractor to add hanging poles and shelves in all closets and pantry. Plus, Richmond American homes builders should have added a coat closet in the front living room. Lastly, Richmond American homes builders should have made a small basement. These model home crawl spaces are huge and should have added stairs and made it a small basement for storage and for the furnace and hot water heater. ... More

Happy with our new home

Quality. Good craftsmanship. The Builder team very polite and professional.

During building process, there is no option to change some minor improvements. For example, I like to change the toggle switch to flat one, change the non efficient light bulb etc. The is only one water outlet in entire hose for outdoor. I would like to have one in backyard but it was not happened.

My sales person Anthony was great! Followed up very well with my questions and paperwork. The superintendent Brian has been very helpful. However, the title company dropped the ball, very delayed forms, I only had 2 days. Big rush.

Was not given an estimate of closing costs for a cash sale. Was very surprised to learn a few days before closing that the costs were $7000.

The builder did a good job on the essentials of the home, however they did not give attention to detail to a myriad of issues that are not covered by the 1-year warranty.

We purchased our first homes from Richmond. The long and stressful process was marred by the sales associate, as she was inattentive and careless. She failed to order the appliances, so we had to remind her of them. They were delayed and arrived late, so we had to discard all of our refrigerated groceries upon move-in. We explained the situation to her, and she simply ignored our calls and emails. We still have not received an apology from her. Overall, we are happy with our home, and we love its design and layout. The paint job was done poorly, as it will take a while for us to remove all the pain splattered on all outlet covers, stove, baseboards, and doors. ... More

We have had good interactions with all staff. We are not complete with our punchlist items, yet, but feel very certain that all will be remedied. We have struggled in our move and in our health, so we have not been as available as we would’ve liked. But we are moved in totally now, and looking forward to getting everything resolved in due time. Thank you for all your help.

Would not recommend using Richmond American for financing.

Overall great experience. A few issues with the quality of the build, however the home care specialist so far has been very responsive and extremely helpful with our home warranty repairs.
