Great responsiveness to the initial warranty issues.

Mike was completely attentive and available to us through the whole home building and qualifying process. Albert has been totally responsive to all we need during and following the close of our home. Outstanding service!

Sales agent Brigitte was wonderful and patient with me. Loan officer Jennifer went the extra mile. Superintendent Jesse took personal interest in ensuring any concerns fixed. On top of this great team, I like the home layout, choice of sytles, quality of materials and excellent skillls of the folks who build everything.. This company is run very well from end to end.

Buying experience was good but closing experience was not went very well, I think they need to be more organized, because everyone was waiting for last minute. home design and quality of materials is not good.

We bought a Richmond American model in Florida. We picked the Azure model. My wife and I love it. Our rep Rosemary was wonderful and helped us immensely in picking and buying our home. We have lived in it just over a month and have n o complaints. We stop and look around almost daily and cannot believe we are actually living in such a nice home.

Bought my house at Cascadia Ridge in Estacada, Oregon. Liz and Nikki were always willing to show me around. I kept coming back to see the same house and they kept showing me the same house until I finally bought the house. I worked with Liz and she was always available to answer any questions I had. Prior to closing they fixed everything that was requested from my private home inspection report! After I bought the house Cheri, warranty coordinator was very helpful. She called me after 30 days to see if everything was going okay and went above and beyond to help me register my products (heat pump, furnace etc). I am very pleased. ... More

We just purchased an Idaho Richmond American spec home. Although it was a spec home, we entered into a purchase contract just as the build began. The Richmond sales team was very friendly and reachable in those early days. We signed their contract and completed their down payment early. After that though, everything changed. Now the salesperson and project manager seemed to avoid us. Their prior promises really didn't seem to matter anymore. For example, one promise they made was that the build could be prioritized and the completion date advanced if we needed it. We needed it. Now though, the local Richmond team did the opposite. They seemed to de-prioritize our build. Often nobody worked on the house for days on end. The sales team became nearly unreachable. Once I was told 'if I have two dates to schedule anything, I always pick the later date!' No wonder progress slowed to a crawl. We came to feel the local team's goal was to encourage us to walk away, forfeiting our substantial down payment, and allow them to sell the house again to their next customer. On the day the property closed and we finally took possession (three weeks late), there were a few issues they promised to fix. Nearly a month later and with NO attempt from Richmond to address these concerns, the story repeats itself. They seem to be all about transactions and completely uninterested in relationships. Although the house itself seems fine, if you are considering a build with Richmond American, I would proceed with caution. Many of their verbal promises seem to be voided by their exceptionally long contract. That's my opinion. ... More

We were the easiest buyers ever. We walked in, said we want that house, and were ready to put 20% or more down using "their" lender. Unfortunately their lender Home American Mortgage Corporation is TERRIBLE to work with. Their complete lack of communication with the builder made the rest of the process unbearable. Richmond appeared to want to sell the house as badly as we wanted to buy it, but the lender was more or less useless, and seemed completely disinterested in making the deal work. Once we moved into our new home we have had some issues that still aren't resolved. I think that Richmond needs to realize that this is the thing that could set them apart from all of the other cookie cutter builders, but they choose to just sell the house and hope that the buyer doesn't bother them. I have always build custom, and from now on I will. Builders like Richmond are really nothing more than lending companies masquerading as builders. They bought cheap money and now are looking to loan it. They build mediocre homes so they can lend the money the bought previously out at a higher rate. What they forget is that this is people's homes, not just a play thing. They need to do MUCH better at follow up after the sale. ... More

I would be willing to give perfect score and advise all to work with Richmond Homes if only my overall experience was better. For the price paid, I would expect better after closing customer service, better home/site engineering with less errors and a company that is willing to make customer happy with little effort. Unfortunately, as a buyer, at this stage, I can not recommend this builder due to after closing findings/issues they are unwilling to help. Sales people are helpful and good but it doesn't help much. I really hope they get better in the future, USA needs good and trustworthy home builders. ... More

Richmond American’s onsite sales team, dedicated lender, patient final stretch coordinator and site superintendent went above and beyond, every step of the way - from inception, build-out through closing. After closing, sales agent and lender were available and answered the few concerns, with the same immediacy as during the sales process. Richmond corporate QC has been outstanding, ensuring that any remaining punch concerns are being addressed, resolved. Solid product, beautiful home; expect excellence - Richmond American Delivers!!!!!

The homebuying process went smoothly. The quality of the work was sub-par by some of the contractors, i.e. the electricians, painters, and dry wall workers. The foreman promised things fixed at walk through that have not been corrected, and since ignored. I like my home and the neighborhood but was not told about all of the taxes at the location I live.

We had a great sales representative, Allison at Tributary. She was so easy to work with and responded to all of our questions. On the warranty side, we still have some outstanding items that need to be addressed. Hopefully they will be completed soon.

Repairs have not yet been completed. It’s already been 1 month. Sales staff is great. Travis is a great helpful person . No very happy with the outside staff

Suzanne is exceptional; she consistently answers all questions and offers any assistance possible, significantly enhancing the experience. My first walk-through went smoothly, and we addressed all issues. However, my second walk-through was disappointing. I drove two hours only to find that the issues hadn't been resolved. After living here for a month and two weeks, I'm still missing a screen door and there are several areas with yellow paint that need repainting. Half of the electrical outlets are not functioning. Despite reporting these issues on the service app from day one, I haven't received any follow-up calls. It's disheartening to use all your savings to purchase a home and find it not meeting standards. ... More

Easy process and great personnel

Try to accomplish to take care of pending issues before closing. You don’t loose anything for asking for upgrade. Take extra family with you to inspect and hire a private inspection firm. Check bathrooms and plumbing upstairs and in crawl space. All the air vent installation of attached properly.check laundry area. We are missing insulation in bump out window spaces, found big 7 holes in the beam for blown insulation hose and they forgot and left it open. Warranty rep scheduled many contractors and she is nowhere to be found. Found cracks in garage concrete floor right after the closings(we were rushed out pre closing walkthrough)now they are giving us cold shoulder. Because it’s not covered after the closing. But our sales rep and project managers were above and beyond to help us purchase this home. ... More

I bought my home and it could not have been a more amazing experience, Especially the people in the front office who helped me immensely especially Megan. I had to sell my previous home and they worked so hard around my schedule to get me into my new richmond home. I absolutely love. As always with anything there is a problem here or there, but the promptness to solve my issue was amazing and gave me a good feeling about the company as a whole. Thank you for helping me get into my dream neighborhood. :-)

We had, and still have, bad experience with the superintendent and assistant superintendent when it comes to 30-day inspection repairs. They are non-responsive most of the time. Quality of the actual home is subpar compared to other builders we’ve used in the past.
