I had a lot of moving pieces in my life and needed a house. Richmond American was there to fill that need. Our house is okay. It's an okay starter house. Workmanship is okay. There is some pretty mediocre tile work going down. Otherwise things are functional and overall acceptable. Acceptable is the key. I'm sure you didn't want this review. Maybe stop spamming my email with these requests. This was a reasonable review, I definitely could have submitted worse.

Richmond homes was very professional and answered any questions you had at a timely manor

From my initial research, Richmond American was not the top choice as a builder. Internet reviews indicated quality issues in other developments throughout the U.S. After talking to some of the residents of Lakeview Forest, I decided to take the risk. Happy to say my experience has been very good. From the Sales Office Staff (Austin & Lizzy) to the project manager (Carl) were responsive to any questions I had. The weekly updates with pictures were excellent. My only bad experience resulted from dealing with your affiliated insurance company. I recently bought my first home with Richmond American. Buying a house is not easy task but the whole process was smooth with Richmond American. I was happy with their service. Thank you Richmond American!

The on site personnel have been wonderful and very helpful.

Told I could have fence when buying and when I followed procedure through HOA was told fences are not allowed. Covenant 6.15 on page 15 says fences are allowed. My well being and quality of life are diminished and I am sorry I bought here. The 60k I put down could have gone to more suitable place for my family. I am violated here and every time I walk by the model homes with the fence around them, I relive the violation.

- Financing deals-felt like they tried to get out of offering to us on a technicality. Very frustrating. - Blue tape- they out it everywhere so it essentially meant nothing. Plenty of imperfections after blue tape - Yard landscaping. They put down mulch with no ground cover. Terrible recipe for weeds. Cheap. - Wouldn’t let us change common sense things. Don’t put down mulch where we are immediately about to put grass. This just makes more work for us. We asked them not to paint the bannister so we could paint it a better color (saves them money saves us time) they said absolutely not. - The in house financing has zero customer service. I had to micromanage the process. They never had answers for me about rates and deals. Darrell was specifically hard to work with. We had the go find another house and threaten to walk on our earnest money to get the rate deals that Richmond was literally advertising on their website. They tried to screw us on a technicality when they told us in the sales office that we could get those rate deals. - Selling our current house at their pre-determined price is LUDICROUS. They clearly want a choke hold on every part of the deal. They didn’t care about our best interest. They wanted to protect their deal. We almost left 30k on the table if we had sold without getting an appraisal first. - The title company was fantastic. - The house was great and we love the space and price. - The rate deals were the only reason we were willing to buy. Keep these. - Melissa was great to work with but lacked the authority to make and inform on key decisions. Rate deals, negotiate price, etc. - sprinkler controller outside. Wires exposed to elements etc. - the bulbs flicker whenever appliances run - it’s because of cheap light bulbs. The electrician that Richmond sent out to tell us we just bought a cheap house showed up 1.5 hours late just to tell me to screw off and I have to buy new bulbs. He did it nicely but huge waste of time - they forgot to finish the two tone paint and paid us at closing to prevent a delay. 4 months in the house and everything is chipping. ... More

My experience is very long and has many moving parts that to date are still not wrapped up. This is/was a horrible experience. So as briefly as I can try to summarize, we were lied too by sales, by construction, and flat out blown off by the customer experience person I reached out too as well as someone named Debbie that was named along the way as someone who was supposed to be helping us, we’ve been brushed off and passed around from just about everyone I’ve spoken too minus Paul in finance. The only way I can get any straight answers is if I am constantly trying to contact a new person who rarely responds but send my message to the original person. I’ve been told my issues will be escalated and they were once. Then passed back down the line. I’ve done my best to be open minded during this experience because I know that we are not the only ones who not only have had a problem but because I understand that things happen, but that understanding has become just me fighting to be priority at some level. I’d love to begin to enjoy my home and move forward. There are just so many unfinished or new items that need attention that aren’t being taken care of. Love the overall layout and most of the workmanship, and the lot/view is what ultimately carried the day. On the other hand, the negatives are numerous. Appliances are a HUGE disappointment for the price of this home. Most are complete crap; dishwasher is a joke. Now that we are painting the entire house (making "contractor white" go away), we are finding all kinds of workmanship issues with the drywall joints, texturing, and initial painting. 3-car garage must be designed for Prius's; can't possibly park normal-sized vehicles next to each other inside and comfortably open a door. And our buying/closing experience was less than ideal; there were errors in the closing documents, and post-closing expenses are still an issue with the Title company selected by RA. ... More

The sales person told us several things that we would have in our current spec home. Only to find out that none of these things were included and we weren't able to change anything. She quit 3 days after we signed and her replacement pleaded ignorance. I will state the obvious: buyer beware.

We purchased our home with good faith hoping to own a quality home unfortunately not only the quality was not satisfactory, but we were forced to purchase the damaged furniture, and now we have noticed the mattresses are not supposed to be sold and they are illegal for sale purposes, and they may result in injury or DEATH. we notified Richmond American Homes, but they are not willing to take the responsibility. DO NOT BUY FROM RICHMOND AMERICAN HOMES

Greysi and Angel and Raul did a great job communicating and following through with their commitments. Great team.

The overall experience was good. I would however liked to have the opportunity to add a few upgrades. Simple things like tile upgrades, a patio fan and pendant lights over the kitchen countertops.

I purchased a spec home that was finished 3 months prior to my purchase. There were some small craftsmanship issues but these were taken care of immediately. The team was excellent and a pleasure to work with.

If you are looking for quality, RA homes are highly recommended!

I’m glad I went with Richmond and would do it again if necessary. I worked with the builder and sales person throughout the process of the home. Excellent service.

Make sure that EVERYTHING is fixed or finished BEFORE you sign the closing papers. Because after that nothing gets fixed.

Got a good deal on builder closeout. there were some issues but nothing major.

I moved from the Seattle area because I had a goal of owning my first home. Housing market caused me to look at different states to achieve my goal. When I arrived at the Richmond American Home Property I was greeted by a wonderful agent Greysi that helped me until the very end. She made my move from Washington state to North Las Vegas smooth and very pleasant!

Sales process good. However, the title company HORRIBLE. the house has a leak, they forced me to close with an uncompleted list of items that they have not fixed yet. It’s been a month and no one has contacted me.

At the time of signing, house was framed. Issues began almost immediately. A section of the garage foundation had to be cut out and repaired. This left a small portion of the garage floor discolored and scarred. It also added about a month to the estimated close. Once the house was back on track, the plumbing/electrical began. County inspection occurred and the dryer vent was determined to be too long and out of code. Between the redesign, county approval, and the fix, this added an additional two months OR MORE to our close date. It seemed like after that was finally sorted out, the house moved pretty fast.. Almost uncomfortably fast. The sales lady, Hala, was nice. We had a superintendent for one week in the beginning and then he left. We got a new one named Danny. Probably the worst, most incompetent person that works for Richmond. Not sure how he still has a job. We ended with Albert and he is better. Hala was a good communicator. Danny was terrible and would sometimes not even respond to my emails or questions. Albert responds to my questions. We'll see how warranty goes but I am not holding my breath. This is our second new home and our experience is about the same as our first. These are track homes, I didn't expect it to be an amazing experience but I did think it would be better. ... More

Many small issues were not taken care of. We were told smoke detector batteries were replaced. They were not. Back deck repair to ceiling never completed. Many bent screens were not replaced. Bathroom mirror promised replacement was never done. I have called Paul about these problems with no response. We were not asking much to have these problems resolved. Guess I will be repairing myself

This is the second new build we have purchased and this was by far an inferior experience. Richmond was not willing to work with us throughout the process and treated us like nothing more than a contract. We waited 6 months for this home and when we finally signed they refused to let us select structural upgrades due to other buyers dropping out, even though we had offered to put more money down and had sold our old home and were living in an an apartment. Ultimately we just wanted them to allow us to select an $8k structural upgrade for a sliding door and they said no. We were non-chalantly told that other buyers were putting sliding doors in after, so we thought we would do the same - fast forward and we are getting quotes of $35k-$40k for the same sliding door that Richmond refused to let us purchase and pay for. The building process was horrible as well, there were crazy lapses in communication, we never received our framing walkthrough or really any updates. The community went through multiple constructions managers and were extremely delayed in other phases, which trickled down to us. We were told one day before that our closing was delayed and would be pushed out. They installed the wrong microwave and refused to correct it. They provided us with $750 as compensation for the incorrect microwave, but this was not enough to cover the $2k it cost us to replace it. The finishes are sloppy and the items we had on our final walk through list have not been completed and we have been in the home for over a month. I would not recommend Richmond to anyone, not even my worst enemy - I cannot emphasize enough how much most (there were a few kind folks) of the staff here have absolutely no care for their customers. My mother is buying a condo with Taylor Morrison and I cannot describe how much different her experience has been. I have been joining her for her appointments and I’ve almost been in tears at the level of service and help they provide compared to Richmond. RUN away from this builder and do research on other communities in the area -THEY DO NOT CARE AND WILL NOT WORK WITH YOU. They only care about their bottom line and it was abundantly clear throughout the process. ... More
