Calling to warranty is very very poor

Very disappointing to call for a warranty after we moved, lots things are not working as expected. Emergency calls are not properly addressed until we resolve it on our own. We have to call an electrician and paid out of pocket just to resolve the issues we moved 3 weeks ago and most of the issues we submitted are still pending. I never heard any reply from anybody.

We've been at our New Richmond American Home for about 3 months, and we have come across multiple issues before we've moved in and even before we received our keys to our home, someone kicked in the side garage door and stole our Waterless Water Heater, although it was replaced the door still needs to be looked at, because it does not look like it did before. Also touch-up paint at out address was brought to the attention from the start and still has not been done, there were a few items that were repaired when we put in a Warranty Request or when we talked to Sam the Supervisor, but the ...

My only issue is repairs that promise to be fixed have not been fixed or partially fixed. And every home in my subdivision foundation isn’t showing like it is on my home. It seems like another piece of siding should go there. So unfortunately I’m not happy until this matter is taking care of.

Terrible warranty execution

Many quality issues and lack of warranty

Pointed out several issues within a week of being in the home. Many they didn’t want to do as we already closed on it and should have pointed out before closing. We had a two week rushed cloth close before new year. The damaged glass panels weren’t noticeable till it was dark out and someone is supposed to “look at” as a courtesy. The cracked tub did get fixed with some push back and the doorbell did get fixed. There is many issues with the slabs and dirt compaction which we were told was normal, I have had new builds before without this. I would never buy Richmond American again and ...

Gas leak hazard. Residents endangerment

The gas was red tag by the gas company for a gas leak. Richmond remived the tag. Without repairing the leak. Very unsafe . Extreme hzard to my family safety. Extreme hazard for an explosion, And it took Richmond over a week to repair the problem. It was very hazardous. Plus I endured expenses having to eat out for over a week. Richmond was very careless, unprofessional for putting a family on a extremely unsafe situation

Uses cheapest contractors available, won't stand behind work

Richmond only cares about money, not the product or resident. They use contractors that care about getting paid and will not stand behind their work. Contractors do not properly install items so when issues come up, they will blame you that you messed it up and force you to pay money to fix it. Also, site supervisors will find ways to get out of stuff (ie: quick walkthroughs so you miss something and then claim you caused the issue and not their crews). If you ask to get any work resolved, it takes forever to get someone on site.

Have been very disappointed in the product I received for 700k. The workmanship is reminiscent of a lesser quality builder. Definitely will NOT purchase nor recommend a Richmond American home to anyone.

Warranty issues and fear that I made a mistake buying this home

I have been in my home for one month and have multiple issues. I had a major roof leak, which has been a fight and has not been complete. The soil surrounding the home is so bad and was not compacted that every estimate for landscaping has mentioned to complete the yard adequately, that I would need to put in about 15k worth of dirt before doing any landscaping. The recent rains have caused major movement in cement and my driveway is already heaving. The cement in my backyard cracks more and more every day. Bought a brand new home with Richmond Homes via our own realtor and mortgage broker. Whole process was smooth, minus our first original interested house being sold beneath us the day we said we will put in an offer. We lucked out though and got a better lot anyway. The disappointment lays within the craftsmanship. Great sales staff but very sloppy work

Sales experience was pleasant but a lot of issues with the house such as carpet, caulking, stucco, paint and drywall all done very poorly all of which have not been resolved. Past the 30 days no one has reached out to fix any issues.

Great Builder

Wonderful builder that cares about the small details. Quality materials. Stay away from their recommended Lender. Will cause headaches at best, delays and penalties and risks loss of deposit. Because of the Lenders experience, I took away some stars. Imagine the feeling of unable to close due to Lender wanting proof that something that was NOT done, waiting for IRS response, and delay penalties accruing daily for weeks and to the point of forfeiting the down payment deposit.

Susan the sales rep did a great job. Dylan did very good with walk through items. Steven the loan officer is an incredible professional. Ryan the processor was always responsive.

Underwriting process was very bad. Loan officer Steven and processor Ryan have done awesome job. Whoever the underwriter was on file was just a disaster. The Underwriting process was very frustrating, overwhelming and nerve wrecking. Please please pay revisit your underwriters because they can cost you business. I had a very strong file but it still gave me a headache.

We had an amazing purchase experience until it came to financing with RA. The contractors interest was attractive but the amount of red tape we had to cross to get to YES was not worth the wait so we sought financing elsewhere Dana appeared to not go that extra mile to assist us but at the end of it all we got the home we wanted!

Moving from Maryland was an adventure. We weren't looking for a new build but this house checked all our boxes. The buying process was good as any house buying process could be. The quality of the house is A++. We couldn't be happier with our new home. The builder notated 98% of deficiencies and had them repaired before closing. Can't say enough about the warranty process too. Very responsive and fantastic customer service.

Our community sales representative Mary was amazing, but our recommend lender was a complete nightmare, if it wasn’t for me being a person that stands on business and did not want to lose a great deal, I would have gone with another lender or just gone somewhere else.

I like my home, but I almost backed out over struggles with financing. The portal would allow multiple page uploads on pages that didn't need them, but would not allow on pages that needed them. I had to supply the same paperwork several times...4 times on one issue. I was living in a motel and didn't have access to a desktop or laptop. As a real estate agent I’ve had many interactions with RAH. As a buyer I was disappointed RAH has stopped allowing buyers to select their upgrades and designs. This made our purchase a bit hard and honestly more expensive on the back end in order for us to get what we wanted. Do better Richmond. For the people giving you business.
