Well, to be honest, the overall experience has not been very good at all. It was a rough start in the buying process. Then it got a little rough during the building process. And now that the house has been built and I have issues that I have addressed. I am overall very Concerned about how the issues are being addressed. It's like pulling teeth. All I hear is yeah. A Band of Brothers - Some Good Some Bad

Our overall experience was mixed, some people like our Super Intendent were terrific while others in Sales and Finance were not very good, being difficult to work with, getting details incorrect because it seemed like they did have time to focus on you or make sure Richmond appeared like a united company. Systems like the main drain were untested until we moved in, and turned out to be an issue that caused the company huge repairs. This is our second Richmond American home and the first one went a lot smoother and I feel was constructed with higher quality.

Everything was going good until we got close to the end of closing and we had an issue with Richmond lending team. We were easily approved and funded with our original lender and he pushed us to look into Richmond because of possible incentives so we did and decided to work with them. But 3 days before closing they came back and said we were not approved even though we signed and filled out all paperwork in the time leading up with no communication from them that we had an issue. Tried contacting Homewaranty for issue with pin holes in the floor grouting all over my new home, I acknowledge of being a Holiday weeks and was given 10 working days for replies until up to date. Overall, it's a nice home. Closing process felt rushed. We felt like we were just a house on the assembly line that they wanted to move on from. Lots of little issues. Nothing major was wrong. Getting the little issues takes time to resolve. It's good that we have a year to do it.

Living in a home that’s not finished.

The overall financial part of buying was good. We put 5% down to start construction and did not need to pay anything more until closing, the time it took to complete the build ended up at what was originally scheduled. I feel the value of the house and land is good for the price paid. The quality of workmanship is very poor from the things I can see with my eyes. Took longer than it should have to be able to close on the house as repairs were not done in a timely manner and we were lied to about some of the repairs being completed. My inspector found water damage 3 to 4 inches high on all of the kitchen cabinets. The superintendent Gilbert continued to say there was not a flood in the kitchen. Even after I brought a moisture meter that showed the cabinets were 30% wet. The first initial steps of home buying was smooth. The loan officer and sales reps were helpful throughout the way. not until i moved into the home issues starting popping up and when noticed and reported to warranty it took time to be resolved. Bait and switch - Build is nothing like the model shown.

Beware - the builder doesn’t address any of the items flagged nor conduct cleaning, based on your first walk through. The build looks NOTHING like the model. The model has way more amenities than what the builder provides. Construction workers leave trash all over and the builders just build right on top of it instead of picking up the garbage. Cheap and shoddy workmanship

The craftsmanship for my home was not up to par. So many cosmetic issues so far and little things that should not fly by an assistant super intendant. They are going to work on fixing the issues but that is now time I have to spend being around for the lack of work that should have been done the first time or after the first walk. Rather sad to see this kind of work get breezed over just because the houses are going up so fast.
