Don’t expect your home to built with the same quality as the model homes

The people they hire to build your house do a terrible job, workmanship is horrible. Their models are built to detail and beautiful! Don’t expect your home will be built that way. Everything they give you has some sort of damage, from doors, door frames, floor molding, kitchen sinks, marble countertops, appliances,etc. Sprinklers they put in your yard are not properly done and they basically sit on top of your lawn. My advice run as fast as you can. Cause you’re going to have to spend thousands of dollars fixing stuff.

Disappointing experience

The home buying experience with Richmond was not a walk-in-the park. We experienced a lot of miscommunications or lack of communication starting from their office agent, to their preferred lenders, to walk throughs, escrow and immediately after move-in. We constantly have to call, text or email and it takes days to receive an answer or a resolution to our concerns.

We love the house we purchased and everything about it seems to be built extremely well. 30 days in, the afters sales support is extremely through and helpful as well. But that leaves the mortgage side. They have special breaks for you if you use their mortgage company, which we chose to do. I have extremely excellent credit and easily qualify for the house, but the mortgage company treated me like complete trash. Sales and Finance departments Criminal.

Sales person, not the one we were talking with,made fun of us as we walked out the door after spending a hour going over lot choices, model selection, and down payment. Sales man we worked with lied on several occasions . Financial department wanted us to submit a document that we and they knew was fraudulent at their request. Head of department later said we would have been approved for our loan had we submitted the fraudulent document.

Horrible experience with these people! Paperwork was constantly being emailed to us for things that had already been done and when we called about it we were told someone else was reviewing it and send it again and again and again!! As for quality of work. Non of my windows are level which makes purchasing window coverings a nightmare. Overall, this was a messy process especially for first time home buyers. The amount of documentation we needed to provide and explained at times seemed very excessive. Chris was only Richmond employee who we could count on and he even gave us faulty warranty information Richmond pushed for closing in two weeks and didn’t have the house issuesready at closing until three weeks after, causing numerous 5 hr one way drives for us to let workers in to fix things we were told would be fixed before closing.

I would not buy from RIchmond. We just recently purchased and unfortunately bought the home before the home was complete. The materials are very cheap and there was no way to change anything before it was put it. We are very disappointed with the purchase and would not buy from Richmond again.
