The craftsmanship for my home was not up to par. So many cosmetic issues so far and little things that should not fly by an assistant super intendant. They are going to work on fixing the issues but that is now time I have to spend being around for the lack of work that should have been done the first time or after the first walk. Rather sad to see this kind of work get breezed over just because the houses are going up so fast.

Everyone has been busy here, clearly taking on a lot of work. I have seen this before in new home construction. Things get overlooked, not done at all, or flat forgotten about. I am thankful for James, our warranty contact, as he has done a lot for us. We have a long way to go to be fully happy, but we will get there. Praise The Lord for everyone’s hard work here, before, during, and after the builds.

The home buying experience with Richmond American Homes was positive and I was offered a great deal on the house. I was able to close on the house in one month. Raychel was particularly helpful. Issues found on the home inspection were resolved before closing. Dealing with the mortgage company (Home American Mortgage Company); however, was difficult. Thankfully the mortgage was sold right after the home purchase.

Angie out Richmond hopes rep was so knowledgeable and patient with us through the entire home buying process. We were expecting our second child days before going under contract so we were on a tight time frame. Angie made our home buying experience possible and was fantastic to work with Genny and Luke has been a great resource and were fantastic through the process as well. The staff we worked with was the reason we decided to buy from Richmond and have referred others to as well.

Very speedy and smooth transaction, helpful team members and responsive to questions.

Great and less stress

The salesperson in the office was very nice and helpful prior to moving in. However, I found an issue with construction regarding our property. I called the office to check on the warranty and to fix this problem but they never responded back to me. I am very disappointed with the response and still after all this time no one has responded back.

Poor communication and information

From the beginning to the end of the process of the build I wasn’t too happy on the quality of the house. The builder don’t see it as a big investment and brushed away your concerns. Everything on the house you expect to look new and flawless but it’s not. There’s some nail hanging out in front of exterior trimming. There’re some area that needed to caulk were missed. The location of drainage was too close to garage driveway every time I pull in always gotta worry about running it over. The appliance has some dents to it and they still installed it thinking we wouldn’t care. The list goes on. With any home your going to run in to issues I have had some issues come up that the Richmond team took care of promptly and with a sense of urgency. I have only had my home for a few months now but everything seems to be going smooth.

Overall, I am satisfied, but there are still some repair jobs pending or with no response yet. I need these fixed or replaced before moving.

I would never recommend this builder. Untrustworthy

Michelle was the second representative I had. She was fantastic she sent new pictures of the my build every week and updates.i do love my new home!

We are very pleased with the purchase of our new home. However We would have preferred that a floor plan option were offered to us before we sign the contract. We saw the model home and we fell in love with the floor plan, but apparently they built the floor plan they had available or they just decided for us. Also the superintendent was not very helpful and nice when we close our house since there were pending issues to be completed in the house that he never took care. Other than that the house is beautiful. There are areas where there were needed more lights like in the living room where they put only one single light! The trees were dead when they delivered the house to us. There were two appliances brand new and already broken. We had to call the manufacturer and have them fixed by ourselves! No assistance from the builder! The backyard lot was not properly delimited so they put the limits like 20 feet less than what our survey plan says. I would say I have no complaints about the way we qualify and financially speaking close the house, but we are not happy with the way the superintendent dealed with the pending finishings of the house. This overall experience has been great. The people that work for Richmond homes are outstanding. My experience with Beth was just great. She even remembers my mom and me from months ago looking at houses. They have been very flexible for everything. Even after purchasing the home, Dorian was great to do the 30 day walk through in which he took every concern with care that needed to be fixed. Thank you Richmond for welcoming me to Vegas that I can now call my forever home!

Several construction delays, quality control issues, cheap materials used, and rushing to complete the house while skimping on quality made this experience a terrible experience for us.

The overall home buying experience was great with the exception of completion of the final walkthrough punch list. We live up north and Candice our Sales Agent kept us appraised of progress and sent pictures throughout the process. She was extremely helpful in coordinating things for us being our "boots on the ground". I was disappointed having to come back down to the house after the final walkthrough only to find several items not completed. Underwhelmed but good enough house. Some cheapness in finishes, appliances/AC unit, materials and installation for cost sitting, cutting corners. Dealings were deceptive or non responsive.

Multiple issues found prior to closing. Still not resolved. Once contract to buy is signed, it's difficult to get assistance. Staff is friendly, but limited to how they can help the homebuyer.

Definitely not the experience i wanted to have on my first purchase. No built correctly so many details left out, they rush to built this community they dont care if its good or bad. Terrible experience not purchasing a richmond again. After a month still waiting for things to get fix from blue tape walk. Terrible, terrible!

They had a home that fit me wonderfully and were knowledgeable about the building and buying process. They helped me every step of the way. And, when I found little problems here or there weeks/months after purchase, the superintendent, Mick, was still willing to come over to fix them. They've been great!

The buying experience was awful. It took them 15 months to complete our home. we were the first to sign a contract in the neighborhood and Richmond American decided to deliver our home over 9-12 months after other homes were delivered. They totally took advantage of us because we were out of state buyer. I was moving back to my home state after serving in the Navy for 25 plus years and they way Richmond American treated me was shameful. There were months at a time that I did not hear from an agent because there agent turnover was so high. In the 15 months we had about 5 different agents, during some months we had to call the Nashville office just to get no updates on the building process. Then suddenly …because we were ignored…they wanted to close we get an email settlement letter without heads up, then all kind of people are calling us for closing. The house quality is okay at best. I mostly bought it for the floor plan. I was not able to participate in the initial walk through because I had COVID 7/2024, submitted Dr. note and was told I still had to be there, so the missing for months agent and construction supervisor inspected their own work and called it good. I was able to get out of my sick bed to do the final inspection and was pretty much powerless to anything I found…it will be handled by the warranty company. It was a bad experience, no follow up and lies about what was considered upgrades or not. So if you are prepared for lies, being ignored after signing a contract, go and buy a Richmond American home in Hazel Green Alabama. ... More
