It was a nightmare ,very bad no good terrible experience.

The Forman/supervisor was great during our final walkthrough. Now for the package I was told when I signed the paperwork in Oct that I would get the vanity/cabinet in the master bathroom. Towards the end of the build, I noticed they put up some ugly shelving across from the toilet and not the vanity/ counter. The sales person said that the packages were changed and instead of picking out the items we want it was one Package with color flooring and no upgrades. Which really sucked because I loved that vanity in the Larmar in the bathroom. And Richmond American would not work with me. I will never buy a Richmond American home again. ... More

I had a great experience with the entire team from the beginning to the move in date. They were on time, great customer service, and professional services. My family and I loved living here.

Warranty service seems to never respond

After a change in construction Foreman’s I noticed a huge change in customer service. The new foreman Paul was extremely helpful with concerns or questions. He was also very good at communicating what could and could not be done for small discrepancies we notice during the building process. Paul made the rest of the experience much better. Unfortunately we felt the lender was not as responsive as we’d like. It seems there was little to no communication between the builder, lender and sales team. Our close date changed several times (which was expected). But however, when we asked for an updated close date, often times we got three different answers. Additionally, the lender would tell us to ask the sales team and the sales team would tell us to ask the lender. That at times was frustrating because during the last two weeks, we were living in a hotel. Overall the process was good though. ... More

Lori & Jake were extremely helpful & answered all are questions when we had one . In addition, the time of the closing they were very patient with us & provided us alll the necessary paperwork that made us able to close the house. We appreciate their help & would love to work with them in the future.

Bought a brand new home with Richmond Homes via our own realtor and mortgage broker. Whole process was smooth, minus our first original interested house being sold beneath us the day we said we will put in an offer. We lucked out though and got a better lot anyway. The disappointment lays within the craftsmanship. We had paint run off on the roofs, blue tape from BOTH inspections not taken care of until we pushed and pushed and pushed for a fix but the pre inspection lady just brushed it off and said “that’s just a smudge, it will wipe off”, when clearly it was not. We have lived in our new home for 3 weeks, and had people in and out the entire time to fix things. We still have the interior of the front door to be painted as it never was, and garage door to be repainted as it was half assed, nails on our roof not take down, wires sticking out for no reason outside, and the thinnest layer of mulch laid down with no weed prevention so we have weeds growing through already. Communicating has been a rough road, you have to fight to get anything done that should have been done BEFORE we moved in and did address prior. Now we have to rearrange our schedules to do these appointments and have random contractors show up without appointments. So yeh, house looks nice, you pay the price, and then you open the book and you see the cheap labor. Maybe improve on the labor you hire, final quality and communication. It's a very low-quality build. I would have rated Builder 0/10 if I could. After moving in, we found so many errors. The builder did not caulk many gaps between trims (cabinet crown mold, bedrooms top and bottom trims, bathrooms, all over the house); too many to list. Most door knobs were loose. Trims were cut unevenly. Messy paint job. Thinking buying a new one is wonderful, but this for us is a nightmare. Please build with a heart *Richmond American Homes Builder.

Worst builder I have ever seen. Door trims are not even, patched poorly, and missing caulks. Fixtures installed in wrong position and loose. it has been more than 90 days since the 30 day warrant walkthrough and only one repair have been made. Paid north of 500K for the home and it doesn't worth it in my opinion.

The houses are slapped together as fast as possible with multiple serious errors. Much talk, but little action is expended in resolving the issues. I DARE Richmond American to contact me. They won't.

There was a delay in getting into our home. Two weeks to finish up. They should have taken another two weeks. At final walk through - punch list items would be taken care of asap. We waited over 4 weeks for even the first things to be addressed. We love the area and we think structurally the house is built well but the quality of the finishing (paint, doors, grout, etc.) has been really disappointing. The initial 4 weeks of hardly any communication was frustrating.

Bought in April 2024, It was great at first, I loved how fast everyone answered and responded. After it closed, suddenly no one responds anymore (see below). Completely shattered my trust in this company. We reported an issue with our showers (not heating up properly), were advised we would get a call back within 24 hours, and weeks later we haven't received any sort of further communication from Richmond. Floor is deeply scuffed in multiple places, something that wasn't present during our initial walkthrough, and one drywall supposed to be fixed(which was reported) was done improperly or rushed to the point that the spot is spongy. Also, Richmond's preferred lenders immediately sold our loan to a new company, PHH Mortgage, which at the time of this review appears to be in quite a bit of legal trouble for increasing fees, ignoring VA rules, and even a class action lawsuit involving at least 48 states. Richmon construction team have been using my electricity and nobody has respond to my requests about this inconvenience

I absolutely regret purchasing this home. This is my 5th new build and hands-down, the worst quality. There are so many issues with the home and it’s like pulling teeth to get them fixed. I HATE THIS HOUSE.

I don't even know were to start with this....the agent you guys have was one of the worst agents I have encountered, the day I was going to check the home, Myra knew we were coming driving 1hr plus and she did not even have the correct keys, When we arrived there, she just said that she did not have the right keys. So we went for nothing after that. She said the closing was one month from when we submitted the purchase contract and it took mostly 3 months also, she sent all the documents to escrow 2 weeks after we signed all the paperwork. For the final walk through. I am an elderly and I had to go to a Doctor's appointment and she did not care about rescheduling the first walk through so we only have one. Moving on to the next thing, Mike for the Home Warranty, he was and has been excellent in his job. Not so much for Gary. We have not gotten any information from him about the repairs that are still due. We have moved in almost a month ago and nothing from him not even a text or a call. Mike also tried to do a three-way text message and he did not even reply to that once again, Mike from Richmond American has been excellent Gary.....not so much. I have never felt such a disappointment when I am buying a home. I have been buying homes for a long time now and this by far has been the worst experience. ... More

The quality and workmanship was terrible when I closed so to get it fixed, we had to contact customer service, Jennifer, for every issue that needed fixing especially the one’s that weren’t fixed by the final walkthrough. Every time I call customer service, up until now, she does not respond for weeks and only responds when she’s forced to. She’ll say I’m not talking to her properly. Well guess what? When you don’t respond to customers who wants to get their house fixed because the builder didn’t do a good job to begin with…Customers will eventually get mad because you all don’t care about getting the job done. Up until now, my issue from a month ago hasn’t been taken care of. I ALWAYS initiate the conversation because she WONT!!! She avoids it and hopes it’ll go away. She even suggested that I get down on my hands and knees and scrub the messed up baseboards that they messed up. I don’t think so!!! That’s what a one year warranty is for!! If she can’t do her job then she needs to go to her boss and ask for help. And she needs more customer service training because she doesn’t know how to communicate. Overall process was smooth and efficient!! Identified the home, submitted the application and moved in around a month later. The team from Richmond was very helpful throughout, ensuring that we understood each document and step during the buying and closing process. The builder’s team was very helpful after our purchase, quickly correcting any issues we found and they were few. We are very satisfied with our purchase and home buying experience with Richmond Homes.

I'm very happy with the house. Good quality. However, I had a problem with the solar purchase. I was a cash buyer so closing escrow is fast if the house was ready. I was told that I couldn't purchase solar because I had less than 60 days to closing of escrow. I was forced to lease the solar. I've bought 12 brand new homes already and no other builder had this clause. I bought a house and closed escrow in 10 days and was still able to purchase solar. This is a ridiculous clause to have to force a buyer to lease solar when it's possible to purchase. Thus my experience with the agent was not a pleasant one. I gave the experience a 4 star only because of Anthony, your customer service rep. He's awesome and always responded to my needs. He was the only one that made this experience end on a high note for me. I work in the customer service industry so I know great service when I see it. Anthony is a keeper!!!!! ... More

It was a pleasant experience. As soon as I was shown the home I knew right away it was where my future led me. Everything was done in a timely manner, correctly and I was well informed of every single step. I do not regret having had ran into so many beautiful people wanting to help and accomplish the goal my home. Thank you to everyone many blessings.

Owning a brand new house was a dream come true. Thanks to Richmond American Homes for a speedy work of building my house and a smooth sailing processing of the stressful paper works. I would like to give a shout out to Ms. Melanie for her patience and guidance during the entire process. From the construction workers to the office staff--thank you for the amazing job, I got my newly build state of the art Agate house.

It’s the most wonderful and beautiful home that I ever seen the quality of the home makes the whole neighborhood look beautiful and specially in the location. Thank you for all you guys do keep it up.

Sales lady Lori provided good information about the residence and options of the house. However, when providing information about lenders, the information was not correct The lenders, the home owners insurance, the sales department were not in sync when providing me the right information I would get an answer from one department then a different one from the other department, and so on. Home American needs to provide uniform current and correct information to customers. Also, Issues with the construction of the house have been brought up as well. Hopefully this gets resolved in a timely manner ... More

I did not feel great. Degine of the home is nice but the meterails use are very cheap and but house price is not cheap as they use the meterails quality.

Unfortunately, our experience with Richmond American Homes was not a pleasant one. Poor communication, very slow to respond to questions and concerns, and was told false information about some of the items we chose. Financing was also not trust worthy. We found equal to better financing with outside financial institutions that didn't charge for items to make up the "discounts" Richmond American offered. We just can't recommend Richmond American because of our experience.

This is our second new build and it was a much smoother process than the first time around. Overall we are very happy with our new home and everyone at Richmond
