If you enjoy being overpromised, undelivered, completely ignored and overall frustrated for over 6 months straight to only find yourself living in an unfinished, overpriced, cheaply built home… then you’ll LOVE Richmond American Homes. I cannot say enough terrible things about this company, and they have managed to make an experience that should be one of the most exciting and happy experiences for you and your family into a dumpster fire.

Fools plans a well thought out maximizing square footage. But builder will delayed fixing build problems and extremely poor response to fixing issue.

If I would have no I would be going through so many issues with Richmond I would have never purchased a house. They have horrible communication and never get anything done when you TRY and get ahold of them. I explained to them how I didn’t want the supervisor on our property to do anything to try and get our issues resolved but still nothing has happened. The only reliable person was jose . He helped us purchase the house but other than that the first time home buying experience with Richmond in sahuarita has been horrible. Please really look into it before you buy. I do not recommend.

Overall I had a great experience with everyone that helped me on my journey. Big thank you to Kristi and Andy they made this whole process smooth

Home plans at Seasons at Green Valley Ranch by Richmond American Homes to be unique and spacious. The community appears to be well-maintained and welcoming, and I would confidently recommend it to our friends for a visit to the sales office and model home. However, there are areas where I believe the builder could make improvements: 1. The Home American Mortgage department could benefit from enhanced communication practices. 2. It would be helpful for the sales office to provide clearer information about layout differences between model homes and actual homes. 3. I recommend that the Construction/Closing department ensures all items are completed before closing. I experienced delays and had to follow up multiple times, even after the home orientation and closing had occurred. ... More

This home was sold to us as located in Surprise AZ. We are hoping that is correct, we noticed that on this survey it was described as Wittman Az.

So far we’ve passed our 30 days of being in the home and still no follow up on issues that need to be fixed. I pass buy the contractors throwing up other houses very quickly and can tell it’s slapped together just like my house. We blue taped a lot on our first walkthrough and it looked like they just took off the tape and didn’t fix the paint issues. I wouldn’t be so upset if I didn’t pay $3000+ for a paint upgrade on the whole house. The cabinets still have yet to be fixed and they sent the wrong part. I went up into the attic and there’s huge nails sticking out everywhere. Low quality beams used and just slapped together with some having fat gaps between. All in all, Richmond, like most new builders, have quotas to meet and are trying to make as much money as possible and cheating out on the contractors. I don’t have confidence this structure will last long without major issues long term. It’s unfortunate for nearly half a million dollar house that sold for $250k a few years ago. But it allowed my wife and I a place to finally call our own and we love the floor plan and some of the upgrade options. Just wish the quality of work was actually appreciated and Richmond spent better money hiring better contractors that took pride in what they do. The sales agent is excellent, but unfortunately, the home is poorly built with numerous issues. Moreover, I discovered that the construction of the home did not adhere to building department codes. During the walkthrough, they may attempt to deceive you to cover their mistakes. So when the issue happens, they will not be responsible. I will be filing to the contractor board

This is a lovely home, and the buying process was easy. However, there were a number of items on the punch list that needed to be addressed, for example, a bowed wall, unfinished wood trim, a chipped granite counter, gouges around the front door, scratches in the tub, etc. Ultimately the builder was willing to address everything, but I had to push to get some of these things fixed, as if it really wasn’t their standard and they didn’t want to be bothered with it.

Other than Lauren, The experience was extremely underwhelming. The quality of workmanship was disappointing at best and it became very clear that our Superintendents did not have their finger on the pulse with trades. During our final walk, it was explained to me by Sergio that i "cant expect perfection". That bold statement has been my Richmond American experience in a nutshell.

I saved up for a long time to buy my home. Initially, working with several lenders and my realtor, they helped me find a home within my budget. After finding two different homes with two separate builders, I decided to go with Richmond homes. My sales person, Jessica, helped with that decision when she told me about Richmond’s program involving their Warranty person scheduling a 30-day, 6-month and 1-year Walk Though the home to address items that fall within the Warranty Parameters; this led me to believe that Richmond cares about their buyers enough to follow up with them after such a large purchase. I, also, decided to go with Richmond’s lender, after discovering I qualified for their incentives. Those incentives helped to keep my monthly payments, and other payments and savings, within my budget. I have only been in my new home for a few weeks, but am so happy, and so proud to be a part of this new-coming community. ... More

It’s been frustrating working with them.

The people I had a chance to work with, Peter in sales and Abby in Home Design, are what made the experience the best possible. Peter checked in on me and kept encouraging me when I lost my job and the contract. I felt like it was a buddy checking in and not a sales guy hoping to close a sale. I felt that way because that’s what it was. He still texts me and makes sure everything is good. I made a friend. Abby made sure that she knew what our budget was and let us know the best place to go lower and places to just not go lower and the best quality for the price in all areas. She was great at saying wish for want you want in certain areas and delete it later. I’m glad I took her advice about the plugs in the bathrooms. I’m mad I didn’t take her advice about the plug in the closet. She’s right, I did end up putting my home office there… Then, George the PM was great for the walkthroughs and called in warranties on day one when things could not be fixed by the time of the walkthrough. I thought it would be a smoke and mirrors trick and he would have us eventually do the warranty claims. Then the cabinet people called. A week later the carpet people called. True to his word. ... Richmond American builds a great home. The quality and designs are beautiful. My whole experience has be wonderful! I love my new home!!

Great home but didn’t feel at home with issues and things needed to be fixed. Yes we might of missed a few things during walk through but I feel that the house should have been up to standards with Richmond quality homes. I’ve own a Richmond home before and know the service, quality, and issues resolved can be better. It’s frustrating waiting for a timeframe to have warranty issues scheduled with no shows or communication. We have had multiple issues with the warranty representative.

I had a very positive process

My overall experience with Richmond American Homes was a very disappointing process. I've had various issues with repairs and currently still need some touch up work done after being moved into my home for over a month. I was constantly told to input claims and after doing so multiple times on the same issues I would never get a response. I've had to be the one to make phone calls and get numbers to higher ups to make sure things would get done. I felt like I was doing the jobs of others and it was ultimately a huge inconvenience. I also had zero communication with my sales agent. When I originally signed on the home I was given a promotion that all my appliances would be given to me and upon moving in I was told my appliances were never processed by my sales agent. When I would ask questions about the details of my home she would put it on the job of someone else and could never provide me with answers to basic questions. Although I love the overall look and style of my home, the lack of communication and response to issues have caused more frustration than than joy and I feel overall displeased with the whole process. Because of these issues, I would not recommend a Richmond Home to future buyers. ... More

Builders did not disclose certain items to buyers, during and even after purchases. When discovered by buyers, builder were not responding to covered dispute/mediation. Not very trustful builder imho. Build quality is above average, except the painting workmanship, worst than regular DIYer. Builder should be more honest and more responsive to buyers' concerns/inquiries.

I’ve been told multiple things that we have been ghosted on from paint samples to another layer of brick for my back wall. Everything is fine until the day you move in, then we are left to hang dry after. My gas line won’t even allow me to put a walkway it is sticking so far out. I’ll be leaving more reviews anywhere I can about this. 450k for mediocre quality with lazy superintendents.

Moses, Tyler, Matthew are all horrible and very unprofessional. Richmond American Homes will lie to you and do anything to get your business and once they have it, they treat you very horribly and unprofessionally. I will be telling all friends and family to stay away from Richmond American Homes.
