No liking the Warranty People ( they are so bad at their work) and material are so bad

Tanner did an amazing job! Always there for all of our questions (we had a lot!) Came by to see how we were doing a month after we moved in. Never had that type of customer service when buying a home!

Rob, the superintendent we had in the beginning was absolutely amazing! He provided updates every week on the home building process for us. Alex was our rep was absolutely outstanding with how he handles business and makes the process so smooth. Towards the end of the home building process, we got a new superintendent named John. John lacked communication and hardly ever responded to text messages. He would always tell us text messages were the best way to reach him but never responded back. It got to the point that we had to reach out to Alex numerous times to get a response back from John. There were multiple minimal things that needed to be done with our home. Every time we ask John about updates on when the house damages will be fixed, he always either does not respond to the question or doesn’t respond at all. It’s extremely frustrating. We have been in our home for almost a month now and the damages are still sitting all over our home. We love our home but the lack of effort and communication from John is poor. ... More

Took longer than it should have to be able to close on the house as repairs were not done in a timely manner and we were lied to about some of the repairs being completed. My inspector found water damage 3 to 4 inches high on all of the kitchen cabinets. The superintendent Gilbert continued to say there was not a flood in the kitchen. Even after I brought a moisture meter that showed the cabinets were 30% wet. I asked for a water restoration team to come and inspect the cabinets and walls as I have dealt with these issues in my previous employment. I had to get Rich our sales associate involved and his supervisor as I told them I would not close until the walls and cabinets were inspected for mold. Sales associate said if the old superintendent was still with the company he would have already taken care of this. Took a week to get them to bring in Serv-Pro who found mold behind two of the walls, and they had to remove cabinets drywall and insulation. Afterwards then they ordered two new cabinets and kick plates for the others. When my inspector returned several of the items on the list that Gilbert said were done were NOT done. After asking the sales associate if I needed to hire an attorney to get the repairs done, they came and made the repairs and ordered new screen doors. The screen doors were supposed to be installed the middle of November. My realtor has been inquiring about the screen doors and consistently received the response waiting on the contractor. Gilbert’s supervisor got involved today and the doors should be here tomorrow. The lack of motivation on Gilberts part and always blaming the contractor is unacceptable. If he worked for me, he would have been terminated especially over the water damage issues. After moving in I submitted a warranty claim as the rear manual RV garage door only opens up 6ft; the 6 foot cinder block wall between our house and the neighbors wobbles and is ready to fall over; front door does not close properly; bathroom counter top has numerous scratches; and no caulk around the bathroom tub. Received a reply email saying they were backlogged but eventually the repairs would be made. Hopefully the wall does not fall over while we are waiting and injures one of our pets. Both my realtor and my inspector said Gilbert was rude and defensive when they asked him about items that were found wrong. I gave him the benefit of the doubt until he lied to me saying the items were fixed and they were not. Time for a new superintendent! ... More

Everything happened from beginning g to end....nothing bad to say about Richmon Homes.

The home buying experience with Richmond was not a walk-in-the park. We experienced a lot of miscommunications or lack of communication starting from their office agent, to their preferred lenders, to walk throughs, escrow and immediately after move-in. We constantly have to call, text or email and it takes days to receive an answer or a resolution to our concerns.

The sales and escrow team were great, but the construction team not so much. I closed escrow a little over a month ago and have yet to get a response or warranty issue taken care of. The quality of work on the kitchen cabinets, the garage walls, and paint throughout the house is very poor. I’m still waiting on someone to acknowledge or resolve the concerns.

My family and me we are so happy. And in my family we are happy to come across the right people.

The floorplans offered by Richmond American caught our attention as “empty nesters.” we wanted large gathering areas in the home for hosting groups. We are very pleased with the quality! Everything about the purchase and construction process was handled professionally. We are so happy with this home!

Chuck was exceptional, professional and very very responsive. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t have bought the home. He went above and beyond the call of duty to get things done and address issues that wasn’t even in his job description. Scott has been great in addressing repair/missing item issues. Quite a gentleman and knowledgeable. Your mortgage side is horrible except for Khrista. She was wonderful. The underwriter was totally absurd. Kept asking for information previously submitted. She aggravated me to the point of me calling the deal off and Chuck actually intervened to help. Wrt workmanship, please do not hire the people who did the paint, spackle etc. ... More

It was okay, not superior or poor.

From the very beginning, walking into the office, Jessica was inviting and knowledgeable. Very professional in dealings with me, as I was in la la land. Everyone was responsive to any questions or concerns that I had, this is including Home American Lending. The quality of the builds, for the price range I am in, is unmatched by other builders. Any issues that arose was probably because of my situation, retiring and purchasing at the same time. The builds are actually remarkable. This neighborhood in particular is going to be smaller, and is really diverse, which is truly appreciated. In closing, everyone involved from start to finish worked diligently, answered all questions, and seemed to be rooting for me through all this twists and turns of the home buying experience. Our Experience was good overall. The only issue we ran into was when it came to the walkthough. The project manager was not being helpful at all with the issues we found during the building process. We were told that it was just that way by the project manager. We ended up having to reach out to a regional rep to get the issues taken care of.

Great home ! N good work

Don’t believe a word they tell you. Had many issues from sales person all the way up the management ladder. Upper management was not in anyway helpful. This builder does just what they want and don’t care about your needs.

Things that were pointed out during the walk through were said to have been fixed but they were not. When asking to resolve these issues nothing has come of it. They say they will fix it but fail to give a time frame on when making us think it will never be fixed. Corners were cut during the building process that we have noticed after living here for a month.

I love my new home ,Richmond American home you the best they take of you

Not only were there delays along the way, the whole process was extremely unprofessional. Our inspector found two leaks prior to closing and they were less than accommodating. The first walk through was put on us as homeowners to point out deficiencies (which 30 days after closing 90% of the list has not even been discussed). Upon moving in we noticed a THIRD leak which was blamed on everything else and it took 3 plumbers to come in to identify and remedy the problem. Sewage came INTO our house from the toilet they left unattached AND we found roofing screws in our drain. Warranty said they "do not cover clogs" so this was put on us as homeowners. Our floors are currently tore up with hopes to be completed before the end of the month. These are only a few of the major concerns with our build with Richmond Homes. ... More

Our first view of the models in Rio Rancho and the excellent customer service provided by Geraldine had us sold. She was very professional and went through several scenarios with us so we understood options. She suggested that we visit models located in another community so we could physically see the model we wanted to make sure we loved it before we committed. She is definitely an asset to Richmond American. Once the build was started we met with Mike and Chris throughout the process and they were extremely approachable, knowledgeable and answered our many questions along the way. When there were issues they were there to assist. Their communication skills and knowledge are invaluable for anyone under their care that is buying a Richmond American home. Our overall experience was great. Terin was exceptionally great. She was on top of every one of our needs. Even when our loan officer Alyssa made it difficult in every way during the process, Terin was always there going above and beyond what her duties were to get us information and help that we needed in order to close our home. Some of the best customer service Lauren and I have ever experienced. We are forever in her debt. There are some things with the home that we are upset about since being in the home but no house is built perfect and we understand that and have learned a lot through this process. I would not recommend Richmond to anyone. This was the worst home buying experience of my life. I have purchased 11 homes (6 of them new) in 4 different states. Richmond was by far the worst company to deal with. The sales associate was so short handed and over-worked that he could not get back to us regarding issues. They also changed the agreed upon price after I signed all of the paperwork. Then they tried to change it one more time and they relented when I threatened to back out of the purchase. At closing, it happened one more time. They gave all of the final closing numbers to the title company for a cash purchase. I WIRED the funds, only to be called back. The title company was informed byRichmond that they had made a mistake and that I needed to send an additional amount to close the deal. Contacting the warranty office is easy having someone reply and help is the hard part. Literally no communication and being ignored.

Richmond has been responsive to our questions and or concerns. Sales rep Aaliyah was great and responded to our questions in a timely manner and had extensive knowledge of the product. After closing with Matt who provided an extensive tour of our new home and his knowledge and experience was a great help to us. Richmond has been responsive in following up with small repairs after closing. Definately would purchase with them again.
