We are very happy with our new home. The quality of material and products used is very good. The few, very minor, issues we've come across have been quickly addressed and rectified. Our construction field manager, Brad, has been nothing short of fantastic. Right from the start, he has been accessible and responsive to all of our concerns, which was greatly appreciated since we were coming from out of state. Overall, I'd say it's been really good home-buying experience.

So the worst part of our experience was the design center. Shea only offered packages for designs. We have built numerous homes, and this was the worst experience. There were things we didn't want that came with the package. Home could have been cleaned a bit better. Painters were terrible with not using drop clothes, so LOTS and LOTS of white paint specs all over the wood floors.

I think overall the house is pretty well-made. The walls are a little thin, however, and I would’ve liked more flexibility within my option package.

Purchase experience was generally smooth. Lots of positive interaction with Sonja throughout the process. Larry, on the finance end was good, too. Brad, the GC has been fantastic, Caroline as our liaison, too. Some head-scratchers regarding appliances not working properly from day-one. The "cleaning" and "punchlist" crews seemed to make more messes than they corrected between walk through & closing. Lots of painting splatter needing work

The purchase was a seamless process and all Shea representatives were helpful and responsive to any questions I had. Now that I am in my home the onsite team has been equally responsive and helpful in taking care of any tweaks that have come up.

Buying process was a little difficult due to communication. The Teams app is not a good communication device. Too slow and lag time for response was slow. And responses were short and lacked detail. More detail of the interior progress would have been greatly appreciated. Just front lics of the exterior were not adequate.

We were lucky to have a very good, professional, quick responding general contractor. He seemed to be on top of situations all during the building process and again in the first year after closing.

Only in the property 2 months and we have no complaints. All stated schedules were met and the staff is excellent.

Get your own Home loan. The build team will sell it in less than 30 days and you may end up with some you you never heard of and not even like doing bussines with them for the next year. When they sold my loan in less than 15 dyas . I just dont like a company that i never heard of and is in 10 states over from here. no office all on the web.

Sonja in Sales and Karina in field operations were fabulous every step of the way. Landscaping company was non-responsive throughout the process and product quality was lacking. Quantum for the high voltage and audio visual was very good from a sales perspective. The operations side is lacking. I’ve been here two months and still not completely operational.

Responsive to whatever issues arise

Overall, we are happy living here! We are enjoying the house as well as meeting so many new friends. This is the 4th home we have built and we understand the process. We asked questions in advance and accepted that this home wasn’t 100% a custom home since we needed to stay within the Shea home plan. Again, we have confidence with Sonja & Sonny and they made themselves available to talk to us when issues arise. We had issues with the design team where incorrect kitchen cabinets, doors, ceiling molding and bathroom counter were installed per our contract. We lost confidence with the design team’s lack of responsibility and this includes their manager on site who never followed up after meetings with us. I liked being able to pick a certain package however I didn't like that I could not make a change. For instance I ordered blinds but did not want them on the small window & could not have them not put those up. The reason I took off the stars was because when I moved in my outside water did not work because of a kink in the line & they had to cut a hole in my wall. Then the breaker switch on my tv kept going off making me think I had a tv problem. No the electric lines in the switch plate were touching. In both cases Shea did react quickly to resolve the issues but both were very stressful for me. ... More

I think the project manager made sure we were happy with our home and on the whole, it was very good quality. However, some of the items we picked out were not what was installed. We picked out different doors than what were installed, that was a disappointment.

Overall we were very satisfied, the experience was better than expected.

We can’t say enough about Karina and how much she helped us. That being said, I wish we had any time with the landscape folks. We didn’t. Sure, at the beginning they were there but it would have been nice to have more discussions with them along the way. We bought a 600$ maple tree for the backyard that comes with no guarantees. Lowe’s and Home Depot guarantees their plants for a year. Not happy about that. We are treating that tree better then our first born son. Shea homes has been very good to us and we are thankful for that. We are somewhat concerned about having another pool or club seeing all the new building going on. We were told that "NO" is a favorite word of Shea's. That is not a problem as you know exactly what you can and cannot have. However, that NO was taken to extremes when even a minor tweak for a home almost $1M was not able to be granted. Upgrades are severely overpriced and structural options are limited. The best thing TLN has going is the clubhouse community - it's why IMHO anyone would spend an exorbitant amount of money to live here.

When it comes to follow up and repairs plane on losing a lot of days of work. Had to take off twice from work and daughter missed out on school activities all so I could sit around and have nobody show up to the scheduled appointments. Not living there 24/7 makes it problematic and takes planning. Doesn't matter, the contractors give no warning they just don't show up.

I have a very serious issue with my flooring and two times. I have been home from 8 to 12 waiting for them with no phone call and no notice that they are not showing. Not pleased at all with this kind of service.

The trades should adopt the saying “Do it right the first time”

Poor communication-in the whole process.

Our sales associate was knowledgeable, helpful, and responsive! I was disappointed that we received no communication welcoming us or congratulation us after we closed. The project manager and warranty contact have been great! They have both been responsive and helpful. We are looking forward to enjoying our new home for many years!
