We love our Shea home. We wish our home home would’ve been finished as scheduled. During the delay of our home build, the interest rate started taking a huge hike. Our mortgage payment is now over $500 a month more than originally calculated. We understand the rate hike is not the builders fault, but unfortunately as the delay was happening, we were also watching the interest rates increase almost daily. We are now retired and on a fixed income, so this is very unfortunate.

My homebuying experience has been mostly great. There are several minor issues identified in the final walkthrough that still need to be addressed after two months. I understand that there is a shortage of labor, supply chain issues, and several homeowners with similar minor issues. Progress is being made.

Sales staff outstanding. Communications great. process they use for sub trades is great. Very ridgit with trades where by no changes can be made once customer has signed off on plans. should have some flexibility. extreme focus on quality whereby no issues to fix post closing. we would buy again from Shea

The entire experience exceeded our expectations. From the sales representative to the construction manager, to the warranty team. Everyone was professional and responsive to our needs. Keep up the good work!

The Sales staff did an excellent job keeping us updated on the build status. It has been more challenging getting results from the Warranty Department, but the home is very well built.

We had a positive buying experience through Shea Homes. In all, it was about a 2 year process (1 year to secure a lot, 1 year to build). Mac and the Shea team were always straightforward, easy to work with, and responsive whenever we had questions. Alex managed the building process well, and was attentive with any building needs. After we moved in, Conor was quick to help with any warranty needs. While the price did increase while we were waiting for the lot, it was still a good value when we closed (especially compared to the market). We would buy with Shea again in the future.

The entire process was flawless. The sale was low key without a pressured effort to purchase. The mortgage processing was easy. The closing was relaxed. Everyone worked to accommodate our schedules. The home quality is excellent and our home services representative gives us prompt responses to our requests. Best decision we have made in our lives

The overall experience of buying a home with Shea is smooth and easy. The entire Shea staff (Sales, Maintenance, warranty..etc) are super responsive and go the extra mile to help you.

Love at 1st site. The Shea home that I recently purchased had all of the features that I wanted from the hardwood floors to the patio area. My sales person Jane was easy to work with and had answers to all of my questions. Jeremy the building supervisor knowledgeable and easy to work with. Buying this house has been a totally positive experience.

Overall the process was smooth and easy. Communication was good and expectations were realistic. I believe that for the price we paid, we have a wonderful home. There is no buyers remorse coming from our family!

The whole process with Shea Homes has been great! Moving in went very smooth and the whole team has been awesome. The couple of items that didn’t get completed prior to move in have been difficult to get scheduled and had a minor miscommunication but outside of that Shea builds an amazing product. Amy and team definitely created an experience like no one else and we highly recommend purchasing a new home with Shea!

Although our experience with Shea Builders has been, for the most part, very positive, there are some issues that still require attention. For example: We were promised that the exterior paint problems would be addressed prior to closing. Two months, the area outside our front door remains unpainted, although it has been scheduled on at least three different times. I don’t understand why the painter has been unresponsive. Ryan has certainly gone out of his way to get this done! Shea needs to pay more attention to the quality of work that some of the subcontractors are performing. Cabinet doors still do not work or fit properly, even though an Oak Craft person has been here to correct the problems. Interior doors don’t close properly, not because of settling or expansion, but due to hinges or plates not being installed properly. Finally, our range hood vent cover is sitting in boxes in our garage, uninstalled, because the installers didn’t know what to do when they came to install it (twice). Items being on back order is one thing. Not being able to install them when they arrive is another. Ryan has scheduled a date in September to get most of the work completed, and I commend him for his responsiveness!! ... More

I would have given 5 stars for all of the above, but two things need to be improved: 1) The warranty specialist is too busy. He does not respond to requests in a timely manner. Even the appointments for urgent things are two weeks out (or more). 2) It appears that Shea Homes contracted some other company to do the tiles and then seal the tile grout. That company either forgot to seal the grout or didn't do a good job. We have grout coming out even with a sponge and water. The good part is that Shea Homes is responding, but still no resolution after 2 weeks+

Customer Service Rep was very responsive to schedule. However, arranging sub-contractors for corrections was not timely. Memberships orientation at our club was impossible to schedule. Under staffing issues lack the ability to work better hours to service new members.

We love our Shea home. We had some issues that took time to get addressed but eventually were worked out. I feel some of the problems might have been due to rushing the job and not paying attention to the small details

Overall, very happy with the home buying experience with Shea. Josephine was amazing, extremely helpful and responsive throughout the whole process. The rest of the team, from the construction to the design team were very knowledgeable and helpful. Gavin has also been very responsive and timely with all of the warranty follow ups.

The homes are lovely and clearly designed with seniors in mind. There is plenty of storage in the kitchen. Every lower cabinet has pull-out trays and all drawers are soft-close. The floor plans are well thought-out. Our only complaint is that there has been no follow-through on some of the items that had to be addressed after close of escrow. The biggest one involved our kitchen island. There are prominent buff marks along the edges where some of the workmen put down their tools and scratched the surface. Someone went in to buff out the scratches, but those buff marks are numerous and prominent. Other than people taking photos of the damage, nothing has been done to fix it. ... More
