Overall very satisfied in the experience

Great lock step buying process.

Not our first time purchasing a brand new house from a builder, we noticed the quality of service and building from the minute we walked into the sales office and saw the model home. We were very lucky to purchase one of those model homes :) great experience from the first step to the last.

I want to say that getting a shea home was the best thing when it comes to getting a new home. From the beginning to the end I can not say enough how much I love my home and the service that shea home provides. This is my first home and I have to say this is the home to have for the rest of your life. The builders and the customer service goes far and beyond with you to make sure that you satisfied of what you are getting in a home. Thank you shea home for finding my dream house.

Entire process from the entire buying process to final orientation has been first class. Subsequent to move in the after sale team has been there for us to resolve minor issues. Very pleased

I am a first time home buyer and the thought of building a home with all the decisions was frightening experience, so I thought. The team at Shea Homes gave me something more valuable than a home. They gave my wife and I piece of mind throughout the entire home buying experience. From home financing, closing and warranty period. Shea Sales, mortgage, construction and Customer Service all worked as a unified team that made the buying experience exciting, fun, with confidence and yes most of all piece of mind that all the details were being taken care of by Shea. How would you describe the quality and value of your new home? The quality of the home I purchased has been good. There has been some small items that you would expect needed attention but Shea fixes things quickly and it's done right. We have received so many compliments on our new home both exterior and interior. There are two areas I wish Shea would improve on and that is following up with HomePro for the Shea Connect and Wiesenbaker for the design. I felt very confused during this part of the home building process. Meaning, it was difficult to understand the responsibilities between HomePro and Shea when it came to setup and installation and the design process is lacking a true designer that is innovative. The designer we had just gave us basic standard choices and provided very little advice to implement our vision. I think Shea should look at improving the process at the design center. Overall, I am very satisfied and pleased the way my new home was built and how it turned out. If you are looking for a quality builder that does things right, and on-time with quality and great customer service, then Shea is the builder for you. Do not use Shea Mortgage. We dealt with many mess ups and rudeness like they were doing us a favor. No customer service. And no continuity or communication between the sales team, closing team, finance team, customer representative teams. You need to be the project manager for all of them which is surprising given the size of the company.

From our salesman Owen, to our foreman Alan, both were available to hear our questions or concerns, great people to work with.

The fallow up after move in with Annie our customer field rep was excellent on issues that needed to be corrected. The one thing that wasn't a good experience was with TLB landscaping not doing what they said they would do, and getting them to agree they were wrong and coming back to correct was like pulling teeth, and we are still waiting on a correction 3 months later. If I was to do over again I would use a different landscaping co TLB was tied in with Shea homes, we were unable to use anyone else if we wanted to put into the mortgage. They also are over priced and poor customer service.

Shea seems more committed to the building process and following established protocol vs. delighting the customer when a problem surfaces or a simple request is made.

Everyone that we've dealt with regarding our new home purchase has been responsive and helpful; even after we've moved in! I loved being able to chose my options for flooring, cabinets, even the exterior. They have a wide selection of interior options; so while we may have the same floorplan, our house looks different.

Home is well insulated due to use of 2x6 studs. Seems solid.

I don’t recommend to buy from Shea Homes

From day one we were kept up to date on the build. Our design center appointment was fantastic and the representative really helped us with out interior selections. Love our cabinets, floors and all appointments. We couldn't have done it this well without her help. Our delivery with Joe was great, very few items that were fixed immediately and were done when we took possession. Two minor items we found after move in were addressed at the one month review. Michael was our construction supervisor and he kept us updated along the way. Did a great job. Over the years have purchased 8 new homes, this is the best one yet! ... More

Overall, we are happy living here! We are enjoying the house as well as meeting so many new friends. This is the 4th home we have built and we understand the process. We asked questions in advance and accepted that this home wasn’t 100% a custom home since we needed to stay within the Shea home plan. Again, we have confidence with Sonja & Sonny and they made themselves available to talk to us when issues arise. We had issues with the design team where incorrect kitchen cabinets, doors, ceiling molding and bathroom counter were installed per our contract. We lost confidence with the design team’s lack of responsibility and this includes their manager on site who never followed up after meetings with us. Sonny did a yeoman’s job working out these issues and we have total confidence in him. We could count on him to get us answers. ... More

When going over the options the sales team encouraged you to shop around for the best options for your needs and lifestyle. They didn’t try to encourage you to just buy what they offered.

Make sure you keep track of everything otherwise they might try and switch out things you ordered and then make you feel like that was never an option. Overall the experience was okay. They do provide differential treatment to some buyers that are able to do modifications where others are told no. After moving in everything is great except for the caulking. There are holes in it and door jams not completely caulked. Most things seemed rushed instead of taking the time to make sure it’s right.

Responsiveness to issues, excellent staff on issues

Sales office and Shea home mortgage personnel are very responsive for questions. The design and layout of the house is very modern. Love the house fill with lights.
