Quality of workmanship is pathetic. Follow-up has been even worse. We've had our 1-month walk through 2 months ago and 90% of the items on the list are still not addressed. Here are some of the things that they missed the mark: damaged cabinets, uneven handles, damaged countertops, sharp objects protruding under flooring, uneven walls, slanted walls, damaged window, exterior wood voids, irrigation system that bangs pipes/walls, no pressure reduction valve, the list goes on.....

We bought a model and we were told that everything would be working at time of closing. However, when I asked that it be put in writing, they refused and ultimately they did not have everything working. They even said at the walk through they would be back and….nothing. I didn’t count on them coming through so not surprised just disappointed in how they treat customers paying that much for a home. As a retired builder, I couldn’t believe how they treat their buyers

Shoddy workmanship with poor oversight and communication

Multiple issues with workmanship. Fit and finish is laughable with doors that don't align, cabinets damaged, stucco peeling, paint that doesn't cover, trim that doesn't fit together. Not happy with the oversight or lack thereof by project management.

I don't even know where to begin. What was suppose to be my dream home has now turned into the most horrible home building experience, I've ever had. The bad quality of workmanship and the unprofessional attitude of the staff and reps at Shea.

I had a bad experience and cannot recommend Shea to any new home buyer. There were many delays and the staff were unprofessional. Overall I had a very bad experience with Shea homes and do not recommend them to anyone looking for a timely home buying experience.

It was a terrible home-buying experience in every way, from beginning to end and even beyond. More than 2 months after closing, items that needed correcting and were brought up during our final walk-through have still not been corrected.

Our experience may be unique, but we did not have a good experience with Shea throughout the buying and build process. It all depends on who you work with in the sales office, the project managers, and how they address issues that arise. Unfortunate given our situation could have been handled very differently with a better outcome.

Solar Panels Don’t Work

We closed on our home over 2 months ago and our solar panels still are not in working condition. When they were installed there was an issue with the wiring so as a result we’re on the hook for something that was supposed to be in working order at the time of closing. Might be another month before they can be fixed.

I don't even know where to begin. 1. False advertisement. 2. Shea Mortgage - difficult to work with and does not follow up or follow through. 3. Design Center - did not really help, they just agree to what you say so they can get you out of there. 4. Quality and workmanship was just overall poor. Month three and vendors are still in and out, like my house is still under construction. 5. Worst purchase I've ever made.

The process of building our house with Shea Homes was full of stress, frustration and anxiety instead of excitement. The company contracted unqualified workers that didn't care for the work they do. We though the quality of work will be the same as the model home WRONG, before moving in, we had to paint the house, the paint the company used was the lowest quality. We been leaving in the house 2 months and quite often we loss electricity in the master bedroom, we report the problem at least 6 times and still is not fixed, is a long list of problems due to the very poor job.

At this moment we wouldn’t recommend anyone to purchase a Shea Home, matter of fact we wouldn’t let Shea build us a dog house. My wife and I would really like to speak with someone with some authority regarding our experience. We are extremely disappointed.

From start to finish you're simply a # to Shea. They clearly do not care if you have a positive home-buying experience and will cut corners whenever possible. Their trades are subpar at best and their Project Managers have little control of the quality of their work. The excuses for the inferior workmanship come fast and furious and in the end you're left with whatever they choose to deliver to you. The buying process was good, the choice of external materials and features was terribly poor: only a few samples of bricks and stones, no catalogs to see or images, just use your imagination to try to understand the final result, this is it was very frustrating. Delayed move in date, over 6k in added costs. Kitchen Island being replaced because installed a broken piece, still waiting after 2 months, tile in shower and around our tub has to be replaced, used 2 different colors. All of the granite had caulk all over it that need to be cleaned, was told to use a razor blade. No touch up paint given. Many more things to list.

This has been a frustrating experience with the builder and HOA. My master bathroom marble countertop is flawed. It was not sealed and water spots have marred the countertop. Moved in May 2021 and still waiting for this issue to be resolved by builder. Keep getting excuse of that this particular marble company is short on staff. However, the new home still up for sale, they were able to install an upgraded marble countertop in the master bathroom. Very disappointed in builder and HOA. I thought Toll Brothers was inferior. We moved from our previous home in Trilogy to our current house which has more defects and lesser quality materials. There are plenty of signs that speed of building was preferred over attention to detail. We paid more money (> $1M) and ended up with less quality.

The painting and interior work is horrible the cabinets are weak please don’t rush your inspection cause there will be a lot of thing you notice once you settle into your home
