My wife and I found that our customer representative did not provide information to us unless we asked a specific question. Even then, there were many questions she simply relied with "I don't know". She did not offer to find the answer most of the time. Once we took possession of our home, we were very pleased with the workmanship and quality. We have had some minor repairs that needed to be addressed and the builder/vendors seem to be ready and willing to make us happy. While the purchase experience was not a pleasant as we expected, the end result is more than expected.

Overall a great experience since I was living in California during the build. I was very pleased with the status updates during the process and appreciate that Shea has check-ins at 1, 3, and 12 month intervals. I have noticed some workmanship that I’m not 100 percent happy with though, but things I point out generally get corrected. Overall very happy and love my new home and neighbors.

Our salesman person was outstanding. He was informative, friendly and always there to answer our questions

I had been out of the home sale market for over 35 years and Shea made me comfortable, explained all that needed to be accomplished and addressed my concerns along the way.

Shea runs a well oiled process.

Attention to detail was lacking on the final product for deliver. On our week prior to close the walls in the house were not painted the correct color.

Only slight drawback is that the homes are too close together.

Home is well insulated due to use of 2x6 studs. Seems solid.

First 30 day punch list was long but expected. Our customer service rep assigned to our house was on top of all the issues. The trades were great and responsive to the issues as well. Only wish the dust and truck traffic would be improved by requiring trucks to use the access road.

Quality home; Representative ensures any concerns are answered on a timely basis as well as any fixes are done immediately after each inspection.

Design home is well planned and very tastefully done.

Be active in your examination of the house and property, the company with follow up with problems that you find and repair them as needed.

Reasonable value in a friendly and highly amenitized community. Service was good both before AND after the sale.

Overall, our experience has been fairly positive, especially regarding the responsiveness with issues with our home after we moved in.

Overall the experience was a very good one. Due to the pandemic, it has been hard to get repairs done in a timely fashion but my Trilogy team has been responsive to other smaller issues. I do appreciate the coordination between Trilogy and the HOA.

Shea Finance was terrible we ended up not using them and had to pull money from savings to pay cash for house. Never recommend anyone to deal with Shea on the financial side.

Builds a basic house with few frills, but some questionable "upgrades" ill suited to the Va. climate.

Have been in my home for two months. Had a plumbing leak that was quickly fixed and some other relative minor issues. Some exterior trim work was poorly done for the price of the house I feel. Responsiveness to issues has been excellent so far. I think more time is needed in the home for a truly accurate review.

Shea is a production builder and inflexible to offer any options outside its standard ones. In some cases, like placing electrical outlets, they are very flexible, but in other cases, like flooring, appliances or kitchen/bathroom cabinetry, the choices are too constraining, staying within a single quality line from the manufacturer used (Wellborn in my case) and not offering true premium products. If you are OK with doing post-closing remodeling, then you can benefit from some of the things Shea does right, like overall great home layout, tankless water heater, and energy efficient house, which is very important. ... I don’t like leaving reviews that are less than great but sometimes it just is. Lots of imperfections in the drywall can be seen once painted. The builders paints is seriously watered down which can be seen in the coverage. Whoever lays the sod does a terrible job and it is not because it shrinks, way to much space between rows which creates ruts. To fix they put down dirt filled with stones and seed which I am to water twice a day. That isn't what i paid for. They had to replace 2 toilet tanks that were cracked, and 4 doors had to be fixed because they didn't close right. The floors are beautiful and good workmanship as are the cabinets. ... More

There is a lack of attention to details, such as drywall, trim and paint application. The build process is rushed and can show in the finished product. Also the windows that are used are of a poor quality.
