Great experience, very happy with our home!

To get the lot I wanted I had to purchase a Shea Designer home. This meant I could not add any options to the home. While I understand not being able to delete anything, I fail to understand why buyers are not able to add options like an outdoor fireplace which would have increased the sales price and profit of Shea, and would have been a huge service to the buyer.

Front start to finish you will like someone has your interests at heart. Followup to any questions is fast. And if someone does not have the answer, they find out. It went very smoothly and I cant say enough about the customer service.

Quality home; Representative ensures any concerns are answered on a timely basis as well as any fixes are done immediately after each inspection.

Design home is well planned and very tastefully done.

Be active in your examination of the house and property, the company with follow up with problems that you find and repair them as needed.

Overall I had a very good experience, everything on time even in these trying times. Home was presented as told, the team of sales to builders was excellent! Definitely would recommend anyone considering building with Shea to do so.

Builds a basic house with few frills, but some questionable "upgrades" ill suited to the Va. climate.

Reasonable value in a friendly and highly amenitized community. Service was good both before AND after the sale.

Have been in my home for two months. Had a plumbing leak that was quickly fixed and some other relative minor issues. Some exterior trim work was poorly done for the price of the house I feel. Responsiveness to issues has been excellent so far. I think more time is needed in the home for a truly accurate review.

The builder is very responsive to the punch list and is very good about getting whatever needs fixing done in a very timely fashion.

Shea is a production builder and inflexible to offer any options outside its standard ones. In some cases, like placing electrical outlets, they are very flexible, but in other cases, like flooring, appliances or kitchen/bathroom cabinetry, the choices are too constraining, staying within a single quality line from the manufacturer used (Wellborn in my case) and not offering true premium products. If you are OK with doing post-closing remodeling, then you can benefit from some of the things Shea does right, like overall great home layout, tankless water heater, and energy efficient house, which is very important. ... From the purchase of my home to the settlement the process was excellent except that we were delayed due to the COVID Pandemic. The building of the home was beyond expectations and the Manager Courtlin kept us informed of the progress of the build the entire time and the care to make sure that our home was up to our expectations and he did such a great job. Shea Homes is lucky to have him.

The home buying experience was professional, process driven, and yet flexible to accommodate my needs during this pandemic.
