There was a time when the Flint River Powered giant water wheels turning wheat into flour and poplar into logs at places known as Bell Factory and PattersonÆs Mill. For the families who settled here, life by the river was bobbing corks and blackberry pies, the smell of fresh cut hay and moonlight strolls.Those old mills are gone now, but the river still rolls and there is new life by the Flint. At Mt Carmel by the River, the fish still bite and you can still enjoy the beauty of moonlit nights.
