The Fields at Lockridge
Selling from Trexler Field in Breinigsville, PA. Kay Builders, a trusted, family-owned builder in the Lehigh Valley for over 50 years, is proud to unveil the Fields at Lockridge in Alburtis Borough. Bordering the lush 59-acre Lock Ridge Park and historic museum, the community offers the privacy and peacefulness of small town living with life's modern conveniences just minutes away. The community features 56 Twin Villas and 27 Value-Priced Single Homes, each with a distinct look. History Celebrating its Centennial in 2013, Alburtis is an idyllic slice of America not often seen today. It dates back to the 1850s. According to legend, it was named for Edward K. Alburtis, a civil engineer and board member of the Philadelphia and Reading railroads. In 1868, the construction of the Lock Ridge Iron Co. and completion of the railroad line, turned the sleepy village into an industrial giant. With its grand Victorians and just 2,000 residents, the borough of Alburtis was incorporated in 1913 by joining the villages of Alburtis and Lock Ridge. When the iron company shuttered in 1921, Alburtis once again became a quiet borough surrounded by burgeoning Lower Macungie Township. The Fields at Lockridge by Kay Builders marks another chapter in Alburtis history. With an abiding respect for the history and customs of the region, we take pride in weaving our new home community into fabric of this charming borough. Lock Ridge Park From the Fields at Lockridge a wooded trail leads to the 59-acre Lock Ridge park, part of the Lehigh County Parks system. The former coal-burning iron furnace, with its impressive stone structures and majestic arches, marks a focal point in the park. An abundance of bluebells, booming in the park each spring, attracts nature lovers and photographers alike for views of this amazing landscape. On weekends, Lock Ridge Park offers recreational activities like hiking, biking, softball, and fishing on Swabia Creek. Both the outdoor 81 seat pavilion an
