Nestled in the cozy town of Red Oak, it’s hard to tell that this beautiful community is mere minutes from I-35 and 4 miles from the nearest DART Park and Ride! Because of the events and outdoor entertainment opportunities in Red Oak, you won’t have to drive out to the big cities to pack your weekend full of fun activities. The Red Oak Parks and Recreation department put on many yearly events such as ‘Red Oak White and Blue’ around July 4th and their Fall Festival around Halloween. You’ll also find special events nearby such as the Scarborough Renaissance Festival and Reindeer Manor Halloween Park! When you want to enjoy the great weather, nearby Red Oak Lake is open for fishing, or you can visit either of the nearby city parks! As much as this city loves to entertain, they also take school very seriously. Red Oak ISD has received several awards from TEA in recent years, but its track record goes well beyond that. The District has worked hard to cultivate environments within the school that encourage a love for learning. This can best be expressed in the ‘makerspace’ learning environments in all schools that have no doubt contributed to the many arts and sciences clubs competing in state championships.
