EDGE Homes is at it again! This time Edge is implementing innovative solutions to environmental issues. Mayfield subdivision in Spanish Fork is one of Utah’s only Low Impact Developments. EDGE Homes has teamed up with Spanish Fork City in an effort to mitigate the impact of run-off and storm water pollution as close to its source as possible. Urban run-off discharged from municipal storm drain systems is one of the principal causes of water quality impacts in most urban areas. As a result, EDGE Homes utilizes cutting edge design approaches and best management practices that target water run-off and pollution at the source. Specifically, roads in the community are constructed to catch rainwater and funnel it back into the natural ecosystem. In addition, the development incorporates xeriscaping and specialized natural infiltration systems.
