North Woods of Colchester is destined to be Southeastern Connecticut's most desired, premier community. Colchester is located in Eastern Connecticut, approximately 25 miles southeast of Hartford and approximately 25 miles North of the Connecticut shore. Colchester is in southeast Connecticut along the side of state route 2 and 11. Major transportation facilities include Bradley International Airport, which is an approximate 40-minute drive north and the New Amtrak Rail Station, located within the town of Old Saybrook, which is located within 20 miles. There is Amtrak service, to points north, including Boston, Providence and points south including Stamford and New York City. The town has an area of 48.7 square miles with 3,300 acres of state forest, parks and wildlife preserves with an additional 627 acres of town owned land.
