It’s easy to be dazzled by a freshly built home. Everything is pristine, the floors are gleaming, the counters are spotless … but how does a home buyer know if the builder of their future dream house is trustworthy? Enter TrustBuilder: NewHomeSource’s independent review page for new home builders.

What is TrustBuilder?

TrustBuilder is a page which allows new home shoppers to gain honest, credible, and independent reviews on builders from across the country, all in one place. Every reviewer is fully verified as a purchaser from the builder that they review. Builder involvement in the site is 100% free to maintain integrity.

How TrustBuilder Works

NewHomeSource representatives reach out to new home purchasers about their experience with their builder. NewHomeSource has strict guidelines for reviewers to meet, such as no inclusion of identifiable information, and disallows any mention of competitors or legal action.

Once a review is confirmed to meet the guidelines, the builder is notified of the new review and is given an opportunity to post a response. At the same time, the review goes through a publication process to post the review on NewHomeSource.com (where the average score for the builder is also updated).

Ratings and reviews are easily filtered by home market (for example, the Dallas/Fort Worth area) — but only if there are at least 10 reviews for that builder in that market. If there aren't enough, then the overall rating and list of reviews is shown. NewHomeSource is careful to point out which average rating and set of reviews are being displayed on its web pages.

“The desire for independent, verified reviews was one of main reasons why TrustBuilder was created,” said Dardi Ferguson, product manager, digital solutions at NewHomeSource. “Every builder is rated on four categories: Quality, value, trustworthiness, and responsiveness.

“New home buyers can quickly view a builder’s overall rating across the country, or they can drill down to a specific area to find the region or city that’s relevant to them. And visitors can trust that the reviews they are reading came from real home purchasers.”

How TrustBuilder Helps Builders Help You

KB Home, based out of Los Angeles, possesses a prominent footprint on TrustBuilder, with 858 communities featured on the page. The California builder appreciates the transparency that TrustBuilder provides.

“At KB Home, we are 100% committed to our customers and their satisfaction, and we know that honest ratings and reviews from real homeowners are an important part of the homebuying process,” said Rob McGibney, president and chief operating officer of KB Home.

“TrustBuilder is the leading new-home destination for homebuyer reviews that are independent, transparent and credible. We are pleased that our consistently strong ratings and reviews reflect our company’s dedication to delivering an exceptional homebuying experience.”

In a marketplace where glossy brochures and model homes can sometimes mask the realities of a builder’s track record, TrustBuilder offers a grounded, no-nonsense approach to transparency. With verified reviews from real homeowners and a commitment to integrity over influence, it gives buyers a powerful tool to make one of life’s biggest decisions with confidence. Before signing on the dotted line, take a look at TrustBuilder—because peace of mind is part of the foundation of a smart home purchase.
