6 Luxury Additions to Your Tiny House

October 8, 2019 //  by Katherine West Leave a Comment

Ironically, choosing a tiny home can feel like a huge decision. Many people hesitate because they believe there is simply no space in tiny homes for the luxury that a traditional house can accommodate. However, just because tiny homes are more compact doesn’t mean that you can’t live lavishly! Here are six simple ways to make your tiny home more luxe in a big way.

Marble Countertops

Because you have less square footage to fill in a tiny home, you can invest in high-quality materials for a fraction of the price you’d pay in a standard house. Marble, for example, is a trendy material that adds a touch of elegance to any space. While marble is typically a pricier option when it comes to countertops, it becomes much more affordable when you factor in how little of it you actually need to vamp up your tiny home’s kitchen or bathroom! Guilt-free luxury – what’s better than that?

Neutral Colors

A neutral color palette is a timeless choice regardless of the size of your home. Because it’s so easy to mix and match with neutrals, any room can look refined and cohesive in a snap. When it comes to tiny homes, light neutrals are even better! Lighter shades will make your space feel bright and breezy and can give the impression that your home is larger than it is. We suggest keeping your walls and furniture neutral, then using your favorite décor, such as well-placed greenery or some statement artwork, to add more color and personality to your design.

Lighting Fixtures

Take your décor to the next level – literally. A bold lighting fixture is a perfect tiny home accessory for several reasons. First, it adds a striking design element to overhead space that is otherwise left empty. This is especially advantageous in a tiny home, where there is a limited amount of room for décor and every inch of the house counts. No room on the walls? Use the ceiling! Additionally, lighting fixtures draw the eye upward, creating a more visually expansive look. Not only this, but the glow they emit will also serve to open up your space, which is key to making your tiny home feel larger than life.

Copper Accessories

Speaking of décor, copper is having a moment right now, and for good reason! A copper accessory is a simple way to add some dramatic flair to your space. The material has a rich, orange-red hue that’s perfect for giving any room a warm, earthy vibe. At the same time, the metallic quality transforms the space with a touch of opulence. With just a few dazzling copper pieces in your décor, you can easily make a huge impact in your tiny home.

Plush Textures

Nothing says luxury quite like a variety of textiles. Luckily, this is easy to incorporate into tiny home decorating. Faux fur blankets draped over your couch instantly add an air of extravagance to your space. With a rich color or chic pattern, throw pillows can act as comfy and stylish accessories. Possibly most important of all is the bed, so don’t be afraid to dress it up with layers of lavishness. While you don’t want to suffocate your rooms with loads of throws, just a few lush pieces here and there are enough to add a sense of luxurious comfort to your home.

Smart Home

The beauty of modern technology is how compact yet powerful it can be. Just because you own a tiny home doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy some fun gadgets. For example, a Bluetooth sound system can transform your home into a mini concert hall. Products like the Google Home or Amazon Echo respond to voice control and act as personal assistants, as well as hubs for commanding your other smart devices. For the more environmentally-conscious, solar panels are a great, energy-efficient option for powering your tiny home.

We know that tiny homes can sound intimidating. You might wonder if you’ll feel like you’re missing out on the frills and fancies that a larger house might provide. But fear not – with our tips and tricks, you can rest assured that luxury is still attainable in a smaller-than-average space. Who said you can’t go big and go (tiny) home?
