"The main attraction here is of course, the golf course, designed by Rick Jacobson to be both enjoyable and challenging for players of all levels. Unlike more exclusive country clubs, this friendly club will let anyone be 'a member for a day.' Daily membership benefits that allow visitors to try out the club or simply play a great round of golf. Of course many do choose to take the plunge and become a full-time member. With 18 holes, practice areas, and a classic English pub known as the Porter's Pub, who wouldn't want to join? Despite its seclusion, this is an area rich in shopping, dining, and other conveniences. Spring Hill Mall is minutes from your front door. Need a trip to Sears, Macy's, or Carson Pixie Scott? How about Victoria's Secret, Express, Charlotte Russe, American Eagle Outfitters, or Barnes and Noble? Spring Hill Mall is still your best bet. For boutique shopping, head to downtown Geneva, Illinois, where you'll be greeted with over 200 stores, most of which are locally-owned and operated. If you're looking for that once-in-a-lifetime dress or objet d'art, you can't go wrong with shopping in Geneva. Although many new residents will welcome the chance to explore the great American city of Chicago in depth, Elgin is practically its own world-class city. With both its own symphony orchestra and its own youth symphony orchestra, four historic districts, several museums, and a vibrant street market, you can definitely look forward to the weekends.
