Need a New Home Fast? These 10 Cities Have the Most Quick Move-In Options in 2025

Need a newly-built house, and need it fast? Tucson is the community for you.

According to exclusive data from NewHomeSource, Tucson topped the list for having the most quick move-in (QMI) homes than any other major market in the country for the month of July.

Why it Matters: QMI homes are the houses that builders start before securing a buyer. They are ready-to-occupy homes available for buyers who don’t want to wait for a build cycle. Many homebuyers may not have the time to wait for a new home to be built, and QMIs eliminate that issue.

QMIs often have the added benefit of builder incentives for homebuyers. These incentives may include mortgage rate buydowns, closing cost help, free upgrades, and more.

In July, Tucson’s 5.08 QMIs per community was up nearly 24% year-over-year. Since 2019, the city has jumped a whopping 255.5% in QMI availability per community.

Phoenix (4.86), San Antonio (4.29), Sacramento 4.16), and Port St. Lucie, Florida (4.10) round out the top five. Lakeland, Florida, is an outlier on the list. Despite a year-over-year drop of 12.3%, it still managed to crack the top ten, in eighth place. Port St. Lucie also saw a small drop of -3.2 when compared to last year.

Here are the top ten QMIs per community for the month of July:
